Brunel University of London Admission Requirements for Indian Applicants 2027

The key Brunel admission requirements for Indian postgraduate applicants centre on academic transcripts, English proficiency and programme-specific supporting documents.

Postgraduate Requirements

  • Academic: Bachelor’s degree with 55% aggregate or CGPA 5.5/10 (recommended baseline for standard masters); 60% or CGPA 6.0/10 for business, finance and engineering masters (recommended).
  • English proficiency: Brunel accepts IELTS, TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic and Duolingo English Test. Minimum component and overall scores vary by programme; verify at the official Brunel entry requirements page.
  • MBA: Bachelor’s with 60% and three years of full-time work experience (recommended); GMAT is not required, but a strong CV strengthens the file.
  • Supporting documents: Statement of purpose, two academic or professional references, transcripts and degree certificate translated where applicable.

Undergraduate Requirements

  • Academic: Class 12 (CBSE, ICSE or state board) with 70% to 80% depending on subject band (recommended); STEM programmes require PCM.
  • English proficiency: IELTS, TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic or Duolingo — minimum scores vary by programme; verify at the official Brunel page. Class 12 English at 70% may also satisfy the requirement.

Key insight: Brunel typically waives the English test requirement for Indian applicants who studied in English-medium schools and scored well in Class 12 English. Request confirmation in writing from the admissions team before skipping the test.

Brunel University of London Acceptance Rate 2027

The overall Brunel University of London acceptance rate stands at 67.5%, with the international acceptance rate at 69.12%. Brunel is a moderately selective institution and evaluates Indian applications holistically, weighting transcripts, statement of purpose and English proficiency.

Applicant GroupAcceptance RateNotes
Overall (all applicants)67.5%Latest published university data
International applicants69.12%Slightly higher than the overall rate

[Source: Brunel University of London]

An acceptance rate near 68% signals that a well-prepared Indian applicant with the recommended academic profile has a strong chance of receiving an offer. Rejections are usually driven by weak statements of purpose or transcripts that fall below the recommended cutoff.

Reality check: A high acceptance rate does not mean guaranteed entry. Indian applicants to MSc Data Science and Analytics and MBA face internal competition for cohort slots, and offers are made on a first-come basis until seats fill.

Brunel University of London Placements and Career Outcomes 2027

Brunel University of London’s placement outcomes are driven by its Professional Development Centre, sector-specific career fairs and a strong recruiter presence in West London’s business corridor along the M4.

  • Employment outcomes: 87% of Brunel graduates are in employment or further study within 15 months of graduation (Graduate Outcomes 2023-24, HESA).
  • Median PG starting salary: £28,000 to £32,000 (₹30.8 to ₹35.2 lakh, market median for London-based masters graduates).

  • Recruiter presence: Employers in finance, aerospace, engineering consulting, technology and life sciences recruit from Brunel; sector fairs held on-campus each autumn.
  • Career support: One-to-one careers advising, CV clinics and a dedicated international careers team assisting with UK Graduate Route conversions; recruitment fairs cover MBA in UK employers.

Brunel University of London vs Peer Universities

The peer set below places Brunel against other UK research universities in the QS 300-500 band that Indian applicants shortlist alongside it for engineering, business and computing masters.

UniversityQS Rank 2027Collegedunia Study Abroad 2026Avg Annual PG Fee (GBP / INR lakh)Differentiator

Brunel University of London’s edge lies in the combination of a top-400 QS position, guaranteed on-campus housing for international students and the Brunel Business School’s AACSB accreditation. Compared with cheaper peers, Brunel invests more in engineering and business facilities; compared with pricier central London peers, its total annual outlay is £3,000 to £5,000 lower.

Brunel University of London suits Indian students seeking a top-400 UK university with predictable tuition, guaranteed housing and strong Graduate Route conversion in engineering, computing and business. A total investment of ₹45 to ₹50 lakh for a one-year masters tracks well against the ₹30 to ₹35 lakh median starting salary many Indian graduates report on the UK Graduate Route, giving payback within two to three years.

Brunel University of London is not the fit for applicants prioritising a top-100 QS badge or a central London postcode. Applicants targeting those criteria and willing to pay a higher fee should shortlist Queen Mary University of London as a realistic alternative in the same federation.

Brunel University of London FAQs

Ques. Does Brunel University of London require GMAT or GRE for its masters programmes?

Ans. Brunel University of London does not require GMAT or GRE for the MBA, MSc Management, MSc Finance and Investment or MSc Data Science and Analytics. A strong bachelor’s degree with the recommended aggregate and, for the MBA, a minimum of three years of work experience is what selectors weigh most. Indian applicants can strengthen borderline applications by including a strong statement of purpose and, for finance programmes, evidence of quantitative coursework.

Ques. Can Indian students work part-time while studying at Brunel?

Ans. Yes. On a Student visa in the United Kingdom, Indian students at Brunel can work up to 20 hours per week during term time and full-time during vacations. Most students take on part-time roles in retail, hospitality or on-campus jobs at the Student Union. On-campus roles pay £10 to £12 hourly and offer flexibility around teaching timetables, which suits full-time masters students better than off-campus shifts.

Ques. What is the Brunel English test waiver policy for Indian applicants?

Ans. Brunel University of London may waive IELTS, TOEFL or PTE for Indian applicants who completed Class 12 in an English-medium school and scored well in Class 12 English, or who hold a bachelor’s degree taught entirely in English from a recognised Indian university. Waivers are decided by the admissions team on a case-by-case basis and must be confirmed in writing before submission to avoid CAS delays.

Ques. Are there joint or dual-degree options at Brunel University of London?

Ans. Brunel University of London offers integrated masters (four-year MEng and MSci pathways) in engineering and physical sciences, and select MBA pathways with international placement modules. Following Brunel’s October 2024 entry into the University of London federation, students also access shared library and research collaborations across member institutions, though degrees remain awarded by Brunel itself.

Ques. What is the application fee for Brunel University of London?

Ans. Brunel University of London does not charge an application fee for undergraduate applications routed through UCAS beyond the standard UCAS charge. Direct postgraduate applications through the Brunel portal are also free of an application fee at the point of submission. However, MBA and select executive programmes may charge an assessment fee at final offer stage; verify the exact amount on the programme page.

Ques. Which Indian banks recognise Brunel for education loans?

Ans. Brunel University of London appears on the preferred university lists of major Indian public sector banks including State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda and Canara Bank, as well as private lenders like HDFC Credila, Avanse and Auxilo. Loan amounts of up to ₹50 lakh are typically sanctioned without collateral for eligible masters programmes at Brunel, with tenure of 10 to 15 years and moratorium covering the course plus 6 months.

Ques. Does Brunel offer a January intake for Indian applicants?

Ans. Brunel University of London offers a January intake for a limited set of postgraduate taught programmes, primarily in business, computing and select engineering areas. The January intake is smaller than September and not every programme runs both cycles. Indian applicants should confirm January availability on each course page before applying and plan CAS and visa timelines around a Delhi VFS appointment in late October or November.

Ques. How does the Brunel Student visa refund policy work?

Ans. Brunel University of London refunds tuition deposits in full if a Student visa is refused for reasons outside the applicant’s control, subject to an administrative charge and submission of the official refusal letter. Deposits are typically not refunded if the applicant withdraws voluntarily after CAS issuance. Refund requests should be filed within 60 days of the visa decision through the Brunel finance office to avoid processing delays.

Campus Life

  • Brunel University London has only one campus, and that is in Uxbridge. It is a pretty big campus compared to other universities. It has all facilities such as cafes, restaurants, student kitchen, library, medical store, student centre, student living, pub, party venue, religious spaces, green spaces, gym, sports fields and arenas, societies, and a plethora of events happening every week.

Fees

  • The whole course was for around 22000 GBP, and after scholarship, it was 16-17 thousand GBP. My course was a 1-year master's program along with a short placement year. I stayed on campus during the whole time, and it cost me 800-900 GBP per month for an ensuite room. The tuition fee was in quarterly installments. And the accommodation rent was paid every 3 months.
  • Monthly living expenses (except rent) were around 400-600 GBP, depending on whether I'm cooking my own food or ordering takeout out as well as on how often I went to explore central London. Avoid taking users over long distances because that will cost a lot. Use public transport- bus, tube, or train.

  • My college had 1 big campus situated in Uxbridge. It is at the outskirts of London. My college was known for its amazing and huge campus. It had a cafeteria, a huge library, a great number of restaurants as well and obviously some large lecture halls.
  • The gym was another popular spot amongst the students and an open ground where students played cricket and football was another popular spot.
  • The college also had a good sized garden right in the middle of the campus where the majority of the events took place. All In all the campus and the facilities that they had was really amazing.

Fees

  • The total fees was around 16000£. There were various modes of payments available. You could pay in installments or could pay the entire sum in advance.
  • Apart from this I paid 500£ for rent as I stayed off campus but quite close to the university. Apart from the rent I would say I paid around 200-250£ for my other bills or regular expenses like food, water, gas, electricity bills etc. This would conclude to a mo they expenditure of around 800£

Overview

The university experience has been good overall, but what they lack is clarity and uniformity. There is difference in opinion among teachers which is disadvantage for students. The supervisor are not readily available when you need them. Most of the staff works online. The campus life was good. Library service was excellent. Staying in On campus accommodation was a great experience. Overall satisfactory.

Overview

To get admission I gave IELTS exam I got 7.8 bands so I'm eligible for admission then I proceed further process The college curriculum is the latest and helps us to understand all the topics in detail and properly. The curriculum follows all the latest industry regulations and helps us to develop our innovative skills and the college also promotes innovative ideas. The faculty is one of the biggest UPs of the college. The faculty minimum teaching experience is around 10-15 years. Most of the faculty of the college is for the PhD level and they are experts in their respective fields. The faculty make sure that each concept is very well understood by us.

Course Curriculum & Exam Structure is relevant, research-driven and fair based on the current scenarios. And we are talking about non-other colleges but the topmost College in London. We can't doubt the college on relevance, research drive basis. Many events take place here whether it be technical or cultural. Every event makes us learn something new and great. i myself participate in many events and have won many prizes up till now which helps me to improve my cv. Like almost every college runs according to its syllabus so this college has a fully updated syllabus and also enough industrial exposure is provided to us which makes us capable to sit for placement in many big companies.
