There is campus placement for different departments like MCJ, MBA, B.Tech, etc. However, there isn't 100% placement. The students at times themselves find jobs, but the Campus placement is not inclusive of all. There's a placement cell and it organizes timely workshops etc. However, the kind of placements that should have been generated does not gets generated. In the MCJ department, ETV Bharat, Teach for India, Adfactors PR, etc are some of the good placements that come. So, I'll say overall 70 % get placement, but not all of them are campus placement. In my department, I along with 2 others got placed at Adfactors PR and Will get a CTC of 4.56 lakhs after joining. The other companies give around 2, 50,000 as a starting package in MCJ. In MBA, it is higher and touches near to 4,00,000.
Different organizations accept interns from TU MCJ. Students have worked for TOI, The Hindu, Nezine, EastMojo, NENow, PTI, PCI, ONGC, OIL, AIR, etc as interns from the MCJ department. The internships, though most of them are unpaid, give a good experience to the students. However, the focus on paid internships needs to be done too. PR, Journalism, Advertising, Video production, etc. are a few broad areas where students go for internships for 6 weeks or more after Sem-2. However, if you're studying communication for development, the entire 4th-semester period is taken as an internship period where they intern with UNICEF and many other organizations.
The placement rate is about 50% with no internships available. In my department there was no visiting companies. However after completing I moved into kolkata and started working as an HR for Fusion BPO services. The starting salary i was offered during that time was 22500 rs monthly. It was good enough to start with. l also started freelancing for resturants and brands as a digital marketing person. This added a plus point to my resume. I then moved to Mumbai after working for three years in Fusion, where I got a better prospect. I currently am back at my hometown in Tezpur and I work as a health services Manager in Baptist christian hospital freelancing alongside as a digital marketing person for various local shops and resturants in Tezpur.
After 6-7th semester students will be eligible for campus placements. 300+ Companies are visiting this university for jobs. Just like Wipro, Infotech, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, ITC, Patanjali, Amdani Adani group this year highest CTC offered 15 LPA by Oil India Limited. There is a lot of Government jobs will be offered. I have no plan to start up something I want a job or after doing that degree I am going to Delhi for UPSC training.
There is a lot of companies offered on-campus internship like Emami, Patanjali, ITC. In this university, they give you an open mind for your projects research ideas. They also grant an amount for your idea.
Though the placements are 100%, but it is surely not upto the mark. Companies come with very low packages, like wipro, accenture, qualcom, techtrunk etc. Mostly students go for MTech after doing their Btech.
Here in my institution, placement of students is good enough. Though I am from Humanities and Social Sciences that's why in my field placement bis slightly less in comparison with engineering. Still, various schools like VKV, DPS etc. come to pick students as teacher.Tentative percentage of students getting placed every year is approximately 65%.And also university takes several steps to prepare students for campus recruitment by conducting various seminars, campus internships by various skilled invited specialists during placement season.
The campus placement is below average. The average package is around 3. 5lpa. Particularly in btech the placement opportunities are more. Internship provided by the university is limited i. e coding, ict, iot, and maths camps. It is good for the students if they look for internship outside the campus. Oil, Unilever, p&g are the top recruiters. The general procedure is general aptitude interview and group discussion. The placement ratio is very poor only 2 to 3 students can make it into the top companies. The placement percentage is around 40% and only of mba it is 90-93%. Yes there is a training and placement cell which conduct many sessions for campus placement.
The placement and job opportunities are quite good. As per the data available in the Training and Placement Cell, many good companies/enterprises like Power Grid Corporation of India, Oil India Limited, Microsoft, Amazon, TCS, Wipro etc took students at an avg salary of 3-5 Lakhs per annum. OIL took students at a package of 12 lakhs per annum while PGCI took at a package of 7-9 lakhs per annum. Overall the placement Scenario is quite impressive.
Yes, Tezpur University does provide the internship. As per the data provided by the Training and Placement cell of Tezpur University, some students were doing their internship with a stipend of Rs 15000. While others did their internship in IITs, NITs under the guidance of their respective professors.
The placement is a thing to worry about. For mechanical engineering students OIL visits the campus but they recruit only 3 students. But all students who passed out from here have landed somewhere good in near future either MS or MBA. Many work in foreign countries ranging from US to Germany. Because the location is very far away from the available airport so the companies don't prefer to come.
After the 4th year student becomes eligible enough for campus placement. If you're opting for a good placement here it'll be really difficult to do so. first, there is less number No. Of companies visiting here because it is approx.120 km from the main city. Also, the percentage of students getting placed is less than 30 percent at an average of 3-3.6 lac LPA.
I don't know much about it, but it does give internship opportunities as there is a separate department of training and placement cell.

Tezpur University is one of the best places if you want to study on a really beautiful campus. The countryside environment outside the University too, adds to the beauty of the place. And when it comes to academic affairs, TU is very serious than all other Universities in the region. The admission process starts with the Tezpur University Entrance Exam(TUEE) The department of MCJ is an excellent place if you want to explore the field more. There are numerous students from different academic backgrounds who come together at MCJ and explore their areas of interest.by Abhishek Kabra
This college is very cheap to study for a programme like MBA and i am a local resident of tezpur which is why i chose to study here. The admission is based of CAT score, merit and followed by a personal interview. Application forms are available at the college campus as well as online mode and it costs one thousand rupees for it. I also chose to study further mainly because of a better prospect and after being enrolled for my classes, I got a more detailed learning of my subject and gained more knowledge from it.by Sthuthi N Samuel
The main reason for selecting this university is that it is a central university, so more opportunities will be here. I was selected on a merit basis for admission into this university in the year 2020. Within one month from the start of admission my provisional admission was completed. First of all, due to Covid-19, we have to appear classes online and it is still going on in that online mode. I will prefer offline learning as it is far better in the case of practical classes. Also due to these online classes, we are not able to get the experience of studying at this University. Hope the situation will become better as soon as it could be.by Sri Abinash Hazarika
