Magadh University Gaya M.A Pali and Prakrit: Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Ans. No entrance exam is required. Magadh University admits students to MA Pali and Prakrit on the basis of merit, calculated from the aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying graduation degree. The university releases a merit list on its official portal after the application window closes, and shortlisted candidates are called for document verification.

Ans. The total fee for the 2-year MA Pali and Prakrit programme is INR 11,740. This includes tuition of INR 8,240 spread across four semesters at INR 2,060 per semester, a one-time registration and development charge of INR 2,000 in the first semester, and a miscellaneous charge of INR 500 per semester from the second semester onward. The overall cost is very affordable compared to similar PG programmes at private institutions.

Graduates can pursue careers as lecturers or assistant professors in colleges, researchers in Buddhist and Jain studies institutes, translators for ancient manuscripts, cultural officers in government bodies, and content creators for heritage organisations. The degree also enables candidates to appear for Bihar Public Service Commission examinations that include classical language subjects.
