Panjab University Chandigarh Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

GGDSD is a very reputable college in Chandigarh. It is under Punjab University which was a very major reason for me to join this college. Also there are only 5-6 govt colleges providing BCA, from which GGDSD college is the best. They have very good infrastructure for IT students which includes of well Air conditioned buildings, well educated professional teachers also computers for all students in different 8-10 Labs.

During masters program there is an research project in university departments therefore I choose this university. for getting admissions in panjab university department you have to give pucet entrance exam . important dates related to admission process you can check on notice board at site puchd.ac.in

The placement program starts from 7 semesters, the placement record is very satisfactory for CSE/IT/ECE student, about 90+ percent of students are placed with decent packages. Many companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Capgemini, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, Adobe, TCS, Infosys (Mass Recruiting), Eicher Motors, TATA, Mahindra and Mahindra, etc, are comes in the college. For mech/biotechnology/EEE placement record less than 40%. The percentage varies from company to company but the minimum is 6.5 CGPA. The average package is 6.5 lakh per annum. The highest package is 42 lakh per annum. From the last year 2020. I have gained all industrial knowledge and now I am just approving myself for the best company.

There is a good placement opportunity for other branches. Big IT companies come for CSE students. Also, for the mechanical and ECE branch, many companies come and hire almost every other student. For the civil branch, there is no placement at all. Earlier, companies would come for civil, but sooner students got themselves into government jobs. So they stopped sitting for placements. Students can sit for the placements in 4th year (7th sem). Companies provide almost 100% placement offers to CSE students. The highest package offered was about Rs. 12 lakhs in a marketing company. I am willing to appear for government jobs.

For IT/ CSE most of the students get placed and the average package is around 5.5 LPA. For other branches, the placement is not that great For IT/CSE, 70 percent of students get placed Major Companies : Delloite, ZS, Amazon, Jugnoo, KPMG, Infosys, Mu Sigma, Optum , Zscaler

Students from the 7th semester are eligible for placements. Here mass recruiter is Wipro and TCS. The average package of students is 5 lakh per year and the highest package is 8-9 lakh per year. Almost all students are placed from CSE, IT and ECE. But placement ratio for mechanical is not good.

PUSSGRC has a TPC community that plays important role in college placements. TPC conducts aptitude tests, arranges database of the student, etc which help final year students during the time of their placements. very few companies visit our campus so we have joint placement .with UIET Chandigarh. Many CS/IT students easily get placement but with the low package which revolves around 3 to 8 LPA. ECE students with good skills in computer languages and with good aptitudes also get placed but if you are from mechanical there is very little chance for you to get placed.

There are various internship programs in our college. However, I am pursuing graduation in BA general. There are no such placement opportunities. However, students who are doing graduation in BA Hons get placements. Students who are brilliant are often interviewed by top companies. The average salary package offered is 2 LPA.

The campus placement at UBS Chandigarh is quite good. With great job opportunities for both freshers and experienced. The Summer placements begin during the 3 rd semester. The average package offered is 7-8 lakhs.

Placements here are not so good as only 50-60% of student got placed in CSE branch with the highest package of 15 lakhs and average around 6 lakhs so didn't expect too much if you are here for this. It will be the best choice if you planning for further studies.
