This rule has been in motion since 2016 and applies to students of both the OBC category and General. The rule did not apply to students who were from 2014 and 2015.

The fee structure for NIT Raipur and any other IIT according to MHRD are as follows:

  • In case your family income is less than 1,00,000, you will get full remission of tuition fees. IIT tuition fees are around 2 lakhs now and the same for NITs is around 1.25 lakhs.
  • If your family income is between 1 lakh to 5 lakhs, then you will have to pay a third of the fee of the IITs and NITs.
  • Full tuition fees have to be paid in case the salary of the family is more than 5 lakhs.
  • NITs have their own mess fees, hostel, and extra fees. They will amount roughly to 65,000 to 75,000 rupees.

Bank loans also help in gaining admission to the aforementioned colleges.
