I applied for Master of Computer Application at Jamia Millia Islamia and JNU & I opted Jamia because of its diverse environment & placement history. Admission criteria for MCA is BCA/Bachelor's degree in computer science/Engineering or equivalent degree OR passed B.Sc/B.Com/B.A with a minimum of 50%(45% for reserved category) with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at graduation level. There is no age limit for this course. The entrance exam consist of 100 questions of 100 marks(1 mark each) with a negative marking of 0.25 and time duration of 90 minutes, there are 4 sections : i) Mathematics - 50 questions ii)Reasoning - 20 questions iii)Computer awareness - 20 questions iv)English - 10 questions. Admission is purely given on the basis of marks scored in the entrance examination, generally cutoff for general students lies between 50-60% & for reserved categories, it is around 40-50%, also it can vary depending on the difficulty level of the question paper.
Generally, undergraduate students of Economics don't opt for placements. The placement cell is active for the master's degree and is doing a decent job. Some students do go for off-campus placement. Jobs available are very limited immediately after UG.
I chose JMI because it is India's top Central University. Additionally, it is located in the national capital. JMI has a great reputation in academic circles and is well known for the massive opportunities it provides to its students. Also, JMI follows an entrance exam, unlike the merit-based admission process which I felt gives JMI an edge over others. JMI conducts it's own entrance examination. Due to covid, our exam was held in November. The results came out subsequently and the admission procedure took place in the campus itself from 1-3 Dec 2020. The classes started from 15th December One can find all the information regarding admission and other related stuff on The Jamia Review's website. They have a dedicated admissions section. Past year papers can be found as well. Preparation of the entrance exam is moderately required. Questions too are not very difficult.
Students are eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester onwards, Some of the companies visiting for campus placement are Aon, EY, Asian paints, MyOperator, The average campus placements range from 5-6 lakh, ALmost 80 percent of the students are able to procure the campus placement. My plans after BCom was to study further and do my MBA, which I did from the same college.
I chose Jamia because it has a better reputation and the fees were also very less, and apart from this, the campus is very vast and peaceful with state-of-the-art buildings and libraries, It has produced some notable alumni. There is an entrance exam to qualify for the college held in the month of May. I got to know about this college online from the college Dunia site only. The entrance exam holds a high quota for Mohammaden students. This college has large spots grounds and overall every facility that a student needs.
First of all, the placement record of JMI is too good i.e. 80% on-campus and rest are selected off-campus. Also, the highest package offered is 12 LPA. Most importantly it is accredited by NAAC with 'A' Grade. Also, the fee structure is affordable for all category, course curriculum is per latest UGC model and the infrastructure and other facilities are quite well. So, these are the reasons for enrolling myself into this college. Now, to take admission for MBA program, I applied for it in May month and paid 700 as an application fee in online mode merely. Further, when I got shortlisted, I turned up for GD and PI round and lastly got the admission offer letter. Also, I must say that for shortlisting me, my previous academic record, performance in selection round that include communication skills, managerial skills, presence of mind and other things were judged.
Top past recruiters include Eicher, Byju's, ITC Limited, Chegg, Swiggy, HCL, Tata Consultancy Services, Hindustan Times and others. The highest salary offered previous year was 12 LPA and 4.5 lakhs was witnessed as the average CTC. Almost 80% seniors were placed in the above mentioned and other top organisation across the country. Moreover, prior to placement session, our college conducts so many workshops on different topics by top recruiters and we are taken to industrial visits to make us aware of the requirements of the market and business world. However, post completion of the postgraduate, I will continue working in the organisation I will get placed in.
I have heard that JMI is one of the best universitiy in India and I have a dream to read in this university. Moreover I have also found that JMI provides a very good placement. So, I have applied for B.Arch course through online application and have appeared for JMI Entrance test. Finally I got a seat to this course on the basis of entrance exam marks.
The placements are good in all the courses. Almost 80% of my friends got placed.Jamia provides the best internship to us. Jamia is at 6th position among the best colleges of architecture in India. It also provides internship within the college to my batchmates who are looking for the teaching field.
Jamia is among the best technical institutions of the country and is also located in my own city.which is why I decided to persue my BTech at JMI. It was ranked 10th among top Universities & 16th overall India by the rankings of NIRF. The institute holds Grade "A" accreditation by NAAC & has been approved by both AICTE & UGC . Admissions to the institute in BTech are done on the basis of JEE score, followed by the counselling procedure .
The institute doesn't have any interview round or entrance exam for admissions to the BTech program at Jamia. Admissions to the program are totally based on JEE score of the students. The applied candidates are shortlisted on basis of JEE score which is then followed by the process of counselling. The institute allocates seats on basis of the merit rank & filled choices of the student.

Major Companies in Mechanical Engg. a branch that visits the campus includes Seimens, Larsen & Toubro, Cummins, ZS Associates, Wipro, TCS, IBM, L&T Construction, etc. The highest package offered was 9 lakh CTC and the average package offered was 5 lakh CTC for the mechanical branch. Overall 80% of the students get placed. I was placed in Larsen and Toubro in the 7th semester and after the completion of my degree, I joined the company in August 2020 virtually owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Jamia Millia Islamia is India's one of the most prestigious universities. It is a central university located in the heart of the national capital in New Delhi. One of the major pros of studying in Jamia is it's location, right in the heart of Delhi. Ciao. Go for it.

The admission process was extremely smooth for such a big Government University which has over 1000 thousand students. When I decided to give JEE, I had certain colleges in mind apart from the IITs and the NITs which I would want to get admitted in, and Jamia Millia Islamia was one of them. I applied for a Muslim Quota there, wherein my admission was taken on the basis of my JEE Main score, which was 131. I got shortlisted in the third list and took admission in the ECE course in the Bachelor of Technology program. During counselling day, we were required to sign a few papers, e.g. affidavits. After that, I was made to choose my branch and that was it for the counselling day. I was given a jby MOHAMMAD AZHAN SIDDIQUI

I have qualified for the entrance test of this course, I got 110.75 marks out of 170. And I appeared on the 3rd list. I am from a science background and in my field, I am the fourth topper of my subject. The admission process is completely fair as I have to submit all my documents in their original form, and the Xerox copy of that was checked and submitted in the office. I have given four challans, one to deposit in the bank, one has been taken by the office and a challan was kept with me as a fee receipt.by Firdaus Afsar
