About DU B.Tech
Delhi University offers a four-year, full-time B.Tech in 4 courses with 410 seats in all. Its Faculty of Technology (FoT) teaches CSE, ECE and EE with 120 seats each, filled on the JEE Main CRL. Cluster Innovation Centre teaches IT and Mathematical Innovations, begun in 2011, with 50 seats filled on CUET UG. The university holds NAAC A++ and ranked #5 among universities in NIRF 2025. The FoT fee is INR 9.88 Lakhs for four years, the same for all three branches. In round 3 of 2026 the UR close was 72,170 for CSE and 99,638 for EE. FoT's first batch has not graduated yet; the university's 4-year UG graduates of 2024-25 had a median pay of INR 12 LPA.

DU B.Tech Fees
The fees for each FoT branch is INR 2,46,960 a year, so INR 9.88 Lakhs for four years. The tuition fee is INR 4,93,920 of that. You pay INR 1,00,000 to confirm your seat and the rest within 10 days after all rounds end. The fee has no hostel in it, and the university sets it again each year.

DU B.Tech Eligibility
You need 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Maths together in Class 12 for an FoT branch, and a pass in English. OBC-NCL students need 55%, and SC, ST and PwBD students need 50%. For IT and MI you need a Class 12 pass with Maths and a CUET UG score.

DU B.Tech Admission Process
Every FoT seat comes through the DU B.Tech portal on your JEE Main CRL, first in regular rounds and then in spot rounds. You list the branches in order, and the portal gives you the highest one your rank reaches. You accept it, get your papers checked at FoT and pay the confirmation fee. IT and MI seats come through CSAS UG on CUET scores.

The UR close for CSE in round 3 of 2026 was 72,170, and the OBC-NCL close was 1,05,413. The CSE UR close had been 42,783 in round 1. Spot rounds start fresh, so spot round III closed CSE at 1,19,579 and EE at 2,07,074. IT and MI goes by CUET scores, not ranks.

DU B.Tech Placements
The university's 4-year UG graduates of 2024-25 had a median pay of INR 12 LPA, with 18 of 46 placed and 28 gone on to study. The year before, 44 of 50 were placed at a median of INR 8 LPA. These NIRF figures cover the university's own 4-year UG courses. FoT's first batch has not graduated, so no FoT branch has figures yet.

DU B.Tech Scholarships
The FoT fee waiver takes 90% off if your family earns up to INR 4 Lakhs a year, and 50% up to INR 8 Lakhs. The Central Sector Scheme adds INR 12,000 a year, then INR 20,000 in year 4. FoT also pays back up to INR 50,000 for a laptop. You apply for the waiver again every year.

Pick it if:
Your JEE Main CRL is inside 72,170: that was the UR close in round 3, so list CSE first and keep ECE and EE below it.
You want the biggest teaching team at FoT: the CSE department lists 10 teachers, against 7 each in ECE and EE.
You can wait for later rounds: the CSE UR close moved from 42,783 in round 1 to 72,170 in round 3 this year.
Skip it if:
You want proof of CSE placements before you join: FoT's first batch is still studying, so no company has hired a CSE graduate from here yet.
You are counting on a spot round seat at your rank: a spot round counts only the students who apply in it, so each close starts fresh.
Information Technology and Mathematical Innovations (IT and MI)
50 seats at Cluster Innovation Centre. Admission on CUET UG, not JEE Main.
Pick it if:
You want a course whose graduates are already at work: IT and MI began in 2011, and its alumni work at IBM Research, KPMG, Paytm and TCS in data and ML roles.
You did not write JEE Main: this course takes CUET UG in a language, Maths and the General Aptitude Test, and Arts or Commerce students with Maths can apply.
You like projects more than exams: a large part of the credits here come from projects on real problems, not only from end-semester papers.
Skip it if:
You want a core engineering branch: this course is Maths and IT with a minor in Electronics, Management or Computational Biology, not a machines branch.
You want the fee in writing before you apply: the university sets the Centre's fee each year, so ask the Cluster Innovation Centre office for the 2026-27 figure first.
Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)
120 seats. Round 3 UR close 87,092 on JEE Main CRL. INR 9.88 Lakhs for four years.
Pick it if:
Your CRL sits between 72,170 and 87,092: ECE was the next branch to close in round 3, so it is the seat your rank reached after CSE shut.
You want electronics with a University of Delhi degree: ECE costs the same INR 9.88 Lakhs as CSE, and the degree comes from a NAAC A++ university.
You want senior teachers in your department: ECE is led by a Professor and has an Associate Professor, with 7 teachers in all.
Skip it if:
You want a sure seat in a late round: after round 3, ECE had 14 UR seats and no EWS seat left open.
You plan to move to CSE after year 1: the 2026 bulletin sets out no branch change rule for FoT, so treat your first branch as final.
Electrical Engineering (EE)
120 seats. Round 3 UR close 99,638 on JEE Main CRL. INR 9.88 Lakhs for four years.
Pick it if:
Your CRL is past 87,092 but inside 99,638: EE was the last FoT branch to close in round 3, so it keeps you in the Faculty.
You can wait for the spot rounds: EE had 34 UR seats open after round 3, the most of the three, and spot round III took it to 2,07,074.
You want power and energy work at a low fee: EE costs the same INR 9.88 Lakhs as CSE, with a 90% waiver if your family earns up to INR 4 Lakhs.
Skip it if:
You want to see where EE graduates got jobs: no EE batch has graduated from FoT yet, so there is no hiring record to check.
You want a large department: the EE department lists 7 teachers, all Assistant Professors, against 10 in CSE.

If your JEE Main CRL is inside a branch's round 3 close, list that branch first and keep all three FoT branches in your order. If you have only a CUET score, IT and MI is your one B.Tech route here.
B.Tech Eligibility▾

Trust the round 3 close: it was the last regular round. Four spot rounds followed up to 31 Aug 2026, each open only to those who applied in it, and EE, with 34 UR seats left after round 3, had the most seats to fill in them. EE had no EWS seat in round 3, so its round 2 EWS close of 1,12,898 stands. IT and MI goes by CUET, not JEE Main.
