Gujarat University Ahmedabad Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

I am a nerd of accounting and I love it so the reason for choosing Bachelors of Commerce is justifiable. Moreover, I am preparing for CA, so this course gives me time to manage the hectic schedule for studying in a parallel manner. In my course, there are 7 subjects and for each subject college has 2 professors, one primary and the other is the intern professor. The faculty is the charm of the college, a maximum of our professors are PhD degree holders in their own subjects and the remaining are also specialized in their subjects. They are very friendly and help us in every situation possible be it an academic or personal problem. Due to the pandemic, most of our classes till now have been online but our professors have managed to give their best in this situation also to bring the best out of us. I am in the 2nd Semester not and I have faced 3 exams till not of which 2 were college exams and 1 was GU exam in which difficulty level is moderate.

In the college even Microsoft comes for giving placements to the students. In this college, one can get placement with a package of around 2.5- 3.0 lakhs. About 50-60% of the students get placed from the college.

The placements were quite good till 2019 but then are affected due to the pandemic. According to the latest data, 79 percent of students were placed, For the marketing field, the placement was 95 percent. Many startups and local companies also supported placement drives and gave placements to 2-3 students each. Big companies like ICICI Bank , HDFC Bank , ITC , Outlook Magazines , Torrent pharma, etc visited and the average package was 6 lacs, while the highest was 10 lacs.

After the 5th semester, students are eligible for campus placements. Several software development companies like MICROSOFT, ORACLE, WIPRO visit the campus to hire students. Companies for system Administrators are HLL and CITIBANK. Students can get a package of up to 3 lakhs per annum in these companies. The percentage of sxca students getting hired is approximately 70%. I wish to pursue a master's degree in the same field after completing my bachelor's.

I always wanted to become a Doctor, so I have selected the course. There are around 8 professors in one department for 150 students. There can be more or less. All the facilities have done MD or MS in their respective fields. We have practicals and theory sessions in the 1st and 2nd year and only practical sessions in the final year. Internals, prelims and University exams are held from time to time but due to Covid, the duration has prolonged.

5th-semester students are eligible for campus placements. Large-cap companies such as Oracle, Microsoft, Infosys visit the campus with opportunities in the field of software development. Companies like P&G, HLL, CITIBANK visit our college for jobs in the field of system administration. Students can get a package of up to 3 lakhs Rs per annum. 70% of SXCA students get hired by these companies. My plan after completing my bachelor's degree is that I will go for a master's degree in the same field.

When I cleared my 12th I searched for a lot of colleges available in Ahmedabad. I come from middle class family. So I can't afford high paying fees for my bechlor degree. So I only searched for Government or Grant-in-aid college for my B.sc. I have many college reference. Then I search all them in map so that I can find which is nearer to me. I live in Kalol. So the nearest college I have is C.U.Shah Science college. And I also heard that it has a placement cell and many globle companies like Cipla, Cadila, Zydus cam there. So I decided to take admission in that College. And I feel very lucky for my decision.

The faculty-student ratio is 1:8. The faculties are very highly qualified and are very much experienced. Their teaching style is very good and they are always there to help to understand new topics and many times they are also ready to do a debate on a topic so that one does not have stage fear. The course is good and new lessons are also added.

There are different sectors in the corporate world. Many companies visit campus for the recruitment process. Some are well-known, locals, and startups. Some of the recruiters are ICICI bank, HDFC bank, HDFC Ltd., Balaji Construction, etc. The average package is 7 Lacs and the highest package goes to 14lacs

College is providing very good placement opportunities and almost 70 percentage of students got placed from college and almost half of the students choose to go for masters. Companies like TCS, Oracle, Google visited the campus for recruitment. The highest package for BCA students is around 3 Lac per annum. And personally, I would like to do masters after my BCA.
