The placement scenario is good for all branches. Not only non-core branches, but even the core branches also have 100 percent placement records. In the current year, the Mechanical branch had a 10 lakh average package and 8 lakh as the median.

- I really liked the new academic building because of the amenities provided in the classrooms are superb.
- The clubs and societies are pretty good here u will learn a lot.
- Mess food is so good and also from the 2nd year onwards u have single room so chill.
Dislikes
- Fests are rarely organised because of lack of funds.
- The timing is very hectic as u have labs as well as regular classes.
- Midsem and endsem are quite tough according to me but it varies from individual to individual.

Talking about mechanical the placements are good and after the 6th or 7th sem, u r eligible for campus placements.
The major recruiter for mechanical is tata steel and tata motors. More information u can see on the LinkedIn profile of the Training and placement cell of NIT Jsr.
The highest package overall is 83lpa from CSE and the average overall is around 14 lpa.
About 98% of students got placed.

- Technical and culture teams are one the best thing abou this college .
- Participating in events of college and intern NIT fest and winning prizes
- Being a part of placement cell and skybooming internship and placement records is what appreciated the most.
Dislikes
- Rude behaviour of professors and staff I'd what everyone is fed off.
- Some of the officers at the office are like typical sarkari Babu so there is a lot of delay in fee remission
- The college has no nearby developed Airport so that affects a bit of placement

Placement are decent in this college. As it is an NIT so obviously many top and big brands alongs with startups visit the campus and this year placement percentage is more than 98%.
The average package is more than 15lpa so it's just improving day by day.
The only concern is the decreaseing NIRF ranking of the institute but it has made not impact on placement and internship. That's a very good thing.

- I like the vibe of the campus very much. It is in the outskirts of jamshedpur so the environment is very good here. I also like the newly build academic building of the institute.
- Academic building of the institute is newly build which is fully air conditioned. I like that very much.
- I also like the hostels. Newly build and are very comfortable.
Dislikes
- Some old fashioned professors are there which is not suitable for new pattern of study.
- Attendance system is also not good. You have to go classes daily whether you like it or not.
Placement Experience:
The placement of this institute is very good, especially in the core sector. In branches like mechanical, civil, and metallurgy more students are getting placed every year. Major recruiters are Tata Steels, Jindal Steels, maruti Suzuki. The average package of mechanical engineering is 10 LPA while the median package is 8 lpa. Almost every student got placed last year.

- Hostel rooms are too good you will get single occupancy room from 2nd year onwards
- The quality of mess food is also good compared to other colleges

- The annual fest Culfest which is organised in a wide scale.
- The sports facility here is very great with very talented students.
- Huge hostel and the grand Diamond Jubilee Lecture Hall.
Dislikes
- The campus is quite far from the main city of Jamshedpur.
- The college has not utilised much of its area.
- The library of campus is quite old and not well maintained.
Placement Experience:
Nit Jamshedpur is known for its college campus placements.
Even the lower branches like civil and metallurgy and production branch have very pleasing placement statistics.
Many big companies like Microsoft, Atlassian, and the enormous Tata Steel show interest in Nit Jamshedpur.

- The hostel life is one of the best things. The hostels are beautiful and you get a single room if you are a second year boy.
- The peer groups is one of the best and therefore helps you in a lot of things personality wise and career wise
- The placement is quite good here even if you are in core or non core
Dislikes
- There are no gyms present which is a matter of concern
- There could be more novels and story books in the library for the bibliophiles
Placement Experience:
The placement scenario is quite good. Big companies recruit from here. The student is eligible for the 7th semester. The highest package was around 83 lakhs and the average is around 13-14 lakhs. More than 100 companies arrive here with jobs and internships and the percentage placement is over 95 percent.
I am planning to work as a software development engineer after graduation.

My friend recently graduated from NIT Jamshedpur. Here is her review.
Location: The campus is located in Adityapur, surrounded by industries. It is a bit away from Tatanagar Railway Station. Since Jamshedpur doesn’t have an airport the best way to reach the campus is from Ranchi via NH-33.
Infrastructure-wise: Both the hostels and the computer centers are revamped. The main buildings of the campus are still under further development but are expected to be in maintenance soon. However, the mega hostels, known as J & K, are an enhanced sight of the campus.
Academics
- The quality of professors or the methodology of their teaching is quite not up to the mark. Few professors of the institute somewhat still follow the old pedagogy and are sometimes not cooperative. On contrary, the newly appointed Ad-hoc faculties are supportive and are willing to guide students.
- Students of the institute perform well in competitive examinations. Many made it to IITs, IIMs, or various international institutes as well.
- The Central Workshop and laboratories, substantially Fluid, Thermodynamics, and Metallurgical are not quite well maintained.
Placement Reports:

- ECE: Amazon, Oracle Finance, Wipro, Mahindra Comviva

FIITJEE, Rao Academy, Career Point, etc, are examples of coaching institutes that recruited as well. The highest package received was 30 LPA while the average salary was 12 LPA
Extracurricular Activities:
The TechnoManagement fest, Ojass, and Cultural fest, Culfest are the major events of the institute. There are several automobile teams as well, like Team Phoenix, the aircraft team; Team Rays, the hybrid car team and Team Daksh, Off road car team.
