Placements in our college are very good. For, ECE we had 100% placement in our last passed-out batch. You will get better opportunities if you are looking for the IT sector. The highest CTC this year for ECE is 80 lacs per year and the minimum CTC for 50% of students is about 20.5 lakhs

Companies visited like Deloitte, ICIC, L&T, exella and many more, Highest package is 82lacs and the medium package is 10lacs. The percentage of placement as compared to other Nit colleges like Patna is so good in both fields Core and Non-core.

Placement Experience:
If you are a Btech student then you are eligible for an internship from the V semester and placement from the VII semester and for MCA you are eligible for placement from the V semester. Companies like Amazon, Sarotech, Samsung, Amdocs, Genpact, and Deloitte visited the college every year. the highest package of NIT Jamshedpur is 80LPA and the lower is 6 LPA, more than 90% of students get placed every year.
I am also preparing for my placement and am not interested in higher studies.

From the 3rd all are eligible for internship and from the 4th year, all are eligible for placement drives.
Quite a good number of students get placed every year.
After getting a degree many go to job profiles some prepare for GATE and CAT and pursue higher studies.

I choose this course because of my area of interest and the professors I got are very helpful and precisely best in nature, all are well qualified with top rankers of GATE and IIT graduates And passing the exams here is quite hard, you have to be engeged all time with study

Placement Experience:
Every year above 90 percent of students get placed. For the metallurgy branch, the max placement offer was 20 LPA.
The average was around 8-9 LPA. The students not get placed had either chosen higher studies or got some PSU jobs. Very few didn't get placed.

I choose my branch just because of placement. Also, faculty members are good. And anyways you are getting admission into nit so dont worry about faculty it is better than 90%of college in India. Offline exams are tough otherwise it is a good college for academics.

My friend recently graduated from NIT Jamshedpur. Here is her review.
Location: The campus is located in Adityapur, surrounded by industries. It is a bit away from Tatanagar Railway Station. Since Jamshedpur doesn’t have an airport the best way to reach the campus is from Ranchi via NH-33.
Infrastructure-wise: Both the hostels and the computer centers are revamped. The main buildings of the campus are still under further development but are expected to be in maintenance soon. However, the mega hostels, known as J & K, are an enhanced sight of the campus.
Academics
- The quality of professors or the methodology of their teaching is quite not up to the mark. Few professors of the institute somewhat still follow the old pedagogy and are sometimes not cooperative. On contrary, the newly appointed Ad-hoc faculties are supportive and are willing to guide students.
- Students of the institute perform well in competitive examinations. Many made it to IITs, IIMs, or various international institutes as well.
- The Central Workshop and laboratories, substantially Fluid, Thermodynamics, and Metallurgical are not quite well maintained.
Placement Reports:
A few major recruiting companies are (in respective branches) as follows.
- CSE: Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle
- ECE: Amazon, Oracle Finance, Wipro, Mahindra Comviva
- EEE: Tata Steel, JSW Steel, L&T, BPCL
- ME: Tata Motors, L&T, Tata Steel, BPCL
- MME: JSW Steel, Vedanta, Tata Metaliks, Tata Steel
- CE: Simplex, L&T
- PIE: Tata Hitachi, JK Tyre, JK Paper, Tata Motors
FIITJEE, Rao Academy, Career Point, etc, are examples of coaching institutes that recruited as well. The highest package received was 30 LPA while the average salary was 12 LPA
Extracurricular Activities:
The TechnoManagement fest, Ojass, and Cultural fest, Culfest are the major events of the institute. There are several automobile teams as well, like Team Phoenix, the aircraft team; Team Rays, the hybrid car team and Team Daksh, Off road car team.
