- I like the hostel of NIT Jamshedpur.No other college except IIT Roorkee is going to give the hostel which we have. From second year you will get your single room.Hostel rooms are well furnished and of top level
- Academic building is newly constructed and its infrastructure is of world class
- My college is situate in jamshedpur and there is free bus service by our college to bistupur which is one of the best place in jamshedpur .
Dislikes
- Culture to say sir to senior. Here in our college senior seek lots of respect from you.
- Less number of trees are available in our college as compared to other college
- Research culture is not good at our college.Most of the student just talk about placement.

Students become eligible for campus placement from 4 th year.
Almost all companies visited our campus including Tata motors, TATA powers, TATA Steel, Atlassian, Oracle, Ola, Uber, Flipkart, etc.
The highest package is 85 lakhs offered by Atlassian. The average package for the CSE branch is 27 lakhs, for ECE 20 lakhs, for Electrical it is 16 laks for mechanical it is 10 lakhs.
Almost all students in our college get placed.
My plan is to join DRDO after the completion of my degree.

- I liked the aura of the college when I first visited here and got fascinated by the gatherings in admission process. Overall it was a good experience.
- I liked the effort of teachers in making us feel comfortable and learn better.
- I also liked the senior junior bonding in this college, it is one of the best.
Dislikes
- I disliked poor management of the college, there are many areas which are leftover and can be used to make parks, calisthenic parks, etc
- I disliked the poor management of buildings like metallurgy and physics department.
- I disliked the poor infrastructure of labs which have age old equipments and we get error too large.
Placement Experience:
Placement is the main criterion for which we came to college other than to mingle and to have life support systems aka friends, so not drowning in emotions, let us get straight to the point, placements in NIT Jamshedpur are one of the best in India and among top 2 in the core sector as tata nagar or commonly called Jamshedpur is a hub of industries thanks to Tatas, our college is very near to the industrial area and often students get placed.
Let's talk about the software sector, our cse department is one of the highest package-grabbing departments in the whole of India, and for this reason only, many people from foreign countries come to study at NIT JAMSHEDPUR.
OUR Placement rate is close to 95% so much much much more than most of the colleges.
My plans after the degree are to explore the whole world with my dream partner and live a life worth living.

- Hostels here are really good, we get single room with balcony from second year
- Placements are really good, average placement is 14.2 lakhs
- Academic building is fully equipped with latest equipment such as smart board, air conditioners
Dislikes
- Faculty needs to be improved
- Management also need to be improved things like declaration of results should be more quick
- Girl is to boy is also very low which need to be improved
Placement Experience:
Considering placement opportunities it is the best NIT one can get at a decent rank in jee mains. Students get to sit in placement from the seventh semester. Many top companies such as Amazon, Flipkart, TATA Steel, Oracle, Accenture, etc visit here. The highest placement is 75 lakhs and the average placement is 14.2 lakhs, Around 97 per cent get placed. I want to join a top software developer company after my btech degree.

- The academic building where we study is very nice.
- Seniors are very friendly and there is no ragging.
- Faculties are also very knowledgeable and well qualified.
Dislikes
- Mess food is not so good and it need to be improve.
- Sports facilities are very bad and it also needs to improve.
- Extra curricular activities are not so better.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I have chosen this course because here placements are very good . Faculties are very good and well knowledgeable,the student ratio is 1:4 girls:boys. Faculties are well qualified from IITs and teaching methods are also very nice.The term exam are taken after every four to five months and exams are easy.

- Large parts of the campus is not utilized .
- College roads are made available for locality to use
- Mess food in first year is not upto the mark

From the 6th semester, one becomes eligible for placement. Companies like Atlassian, Tata steel, amazon, exon Mobil and psu visit our campus for placement highest package was 85lpa by Atlassian for sde roles and the placement percentage is 97.2%.

- I liked the behavior of the seniors towards the juniors.seniors are very friendly and supportive, there is no word like ragging exists.
- The acadmic building is very well designed and well eqquiped
- Faculties are good and they are very supportive.
Dislikes
- The campus is not very satisfying as there are many vaccant and unused areas .All areas are not occupied.
- There is no gym in the college which is very bad.
- Mess food is also not very good and i dont like it.
Placement Experience:
Campus placements mainly start in the fourth year. The top recruiters of nit jamshedpur in 2023 include Atlassian, uber, direct, HSBC, Microsoft, Deloitte, Wipro, Amazon, Flipkart, etc. A total of 97.2 percent of people get placed. My plan after getting my degree is to get placed in Microsoft.

From the beginning of the 5th semester, students are eligible for internship opportunities, and after the 6th-semester students are eligible for placement.
Companies like Tata, Wipro, reliance corporation, Goldman sac, Flipkart, Amazon, etc. visit our campus and give good packages to students.
The highest and average package offered was 72.5 LPA and 14.7 LPA respectively.
The overall placement of the institute was 97.2 percent.
After getting my degree I will look for my placement and possible start-up if I get interested.

- Seniors are very helpful in every situation.
- Hostels are very good in terms of accomodation.

- Management system in every department.
- Laboratories are not so good.
- Lack of infrastructure development.
Placement Experience:
If you are only coming here for placement purpose, then you are at one of the best places for it. Students are getting placement opportunities from 7th sem as companies starts to visit during the period. 230+ companies visited the campus last year which includes Amazon, Atlassian, Flipkart, Oracle, Microsoft, Tata, Accenture etc. The highest package stands at 73 lakhs per annum last year whereas the average package was 14.2 lakhs. The placement percentage was 97% which is amongst the top 5 NITs. Training and placement cell ensures that everyone gets a decent placement. After getting the degree, I wanna join as a software engineer in a reputate company.

The placement is decent here. Almost companies from all sectors visit here whether it is core companies or It companies. Last year about 320+ companies visit the campus and about 850+ jobs were offered to the young minds of the college.

Placement Experience:
the best thing about NIT Jamshedpur is its placements. placements wise our nit will come in the top 5 nits.
placement seasons start here in July/August. As companies come from a variety of areas like core engineering, noncore fields like it and analytics.. mechanical and electrical are two good branches for placements in NIT Jsr. Companies like Tata, GE, and PSUs like BPCL have visited. But main placements are from IT fields as a lot of companies visit for noncore fields like Codenation, Amazon, Atlassian, Salesforce, etc.
The highest package from NIT stands at 70 lacks per annum and average packages stand at around 8-9 lakhs per annum. Almost every student got placed so the placement percentage is quite good, 90%+ for top branches. I plan to work as an ML engineer and research in the field of quantum computing.

My friend recently graduated from NIT Jamshedpur. Here is her review.
Location: The campus is located in Adityapur, surrounded by industries. It is a bit away from Tatanagar Railway Station. Since Jamshedpur doesn’t have an airport the best way to reach the campus is from Ranchi via NH-33.
Infrastructure-wise: Both the hostels and the computer centers are revamped. The main buildings of the campus are still under further development but are expected to be in maintenance soon. However, the mega hostels, known as J & K, are an enhanced sight of the campus.
Academics
- The quality of professors or the methodology of their teaching is quite not up to the mark. Few professors of the institute somewhat still follow the old pedagogy and are sometimes not cooperative. On contrary, the newly appointed Ad-hoc faculties are supportive and are willing to guide students.
- Students of the institute perform well in competitive examinations. Many made it to IITs, IIMs, or various international institutes as well.
- The Central Workshop and laboratories, substantially Fluid, Thermodynamics, and Metallurgical are not quite well maintained.
Placement Reports:
A few major recruiting companies are (in respective branches) as follows.
- CSE: Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle
- ECE: Amazon, Oracle Finance, Wipro, Mahindra Comviva
- EEE: Tata Steel, JSW Steel, L&T, BPCL

FIITJEE, Rao Academy, Career Point, etc, are examples of coaching institutes that recruited as well. The highest package received was 30 LPA while the average salary was 12 LPA
Extracurricular Activities:
The TechnoManagement fest, Ojass, and Cultural fest, Culfest are the major events of the institute. There are several automobile teams as well, like Team Phoenix, the aircraft team; Team Rays, the hybrid car team and Team Daksh, Off road car team.
