Tier 1 core vs Tier 2 circuital
NIT Trichy chem or tier 2 NITs CSE. Also I was getting mechanical in Trichy but, I seemed to like chemical. But, yeah I also like CSE and other circuital branches too. I am a good learner and actually have interest in both. But I'm getting mixed opinions from people. Please help me. And upvote it asap. Josaa closes tomorrow.

Never take chemical, it has no scope and infrastructure in india and you will most likely be unplaced even if you do it from iit Bombay

Boards 75% criteria
What are the subjects required for 75% criteria for boards? Is pcm + english + optional subject compulsory or we can choose our best 5 subjects?(excluding p/c/m) the sources online are confusing as well. Has anyone taken admission in NIT/IIIT/IIT with his preference of subjects for 75% criteria?
  • TerraDrifterTerraDrifter
    Pcm+English+optional subject is the criteria

software vs core
I'm from NIT second year ece but I'm so confused whether to take core or software, I am interested in software but I'm afraid of losing my job in the future, cause it's easy to learn so won't everyone learn from just a laptop and I'll be replaced easily? Maybe I am wrong so help me like I was just going through a video in which he said about ML engineering course so that can just be learnt from YouTube, so how I'll I be different from someone else?

Going in my 3rd year and feel very much screwed up...
Going into 3rd year (EE) at a top 5 NIT (placement-wise), and the stress is kicking in hard. CPI is 7.98. Haven't done any internships, solved ~130 Leetcode (mostly mediums), participated in a few contests (rating ~1400), and know just the basics of HTML/CSS/JS. Real talk I feel like I'm gonna miss out on internships coming up in my 5th sem and get stuck during placements. The CPI cutoff, lack of dev, and weak DSA prep are all catching up now. I'm also considering preparing for GATE 2026/27 for PSUs, but haven't started anything serious yet. I know IT jobs are risky and I don't feel fully prepped for that either. Should I go all in on GATE or is there still time to salvage my placement chances with DSA/dev? Anyone in the same boat or has come out of this I'd genuinely appreciate any guidance.

Don't expect anything from internship drive, you still have 1 yr, you can aim for placement instead. Btw are you from NIT JSR??

Help, need advice/guidance on dropping after not meeting 75% criteria
i only have 72% in my 12th boards (so NIT/lIT are not possible) and if i take a drop this year and give JEE mains 2026 and say score something decent. What are my options? Should i give improvement exam? or look forward to other colleges? if yes which colleges would you recommend
  • StaticSurgeStaticSurge
I suggest u give improvement exam, because u are very close to 75, since syllabus is same, it won't be a time waste, plus u will get chance for iit and not in drop. So Imo improvement exam and preparation is best option for you. Don't hurry to take a college, good college late is better than bad college early. Give improvement and take drop

Query regarding csab round ?
Let's say I have a secured admission in a nit in josaa rounds, then I want to go for csab to see if I can get a better nit, but if I am not allotted any nit in there how do I go about getting my original seat that I got through josaa? Is it automatically allotted to me as my last option in csab rounds or is there anything I need to do? Also what if I just want to exit in round 1 with my josaa seat and don't want to go for 2nd round of csab, how do I do that. Thank you!

Your josaa seat is carry forward with you in csab, if you didn't get higher choice in csab then the seat that you got in josaa is still with you.
