Ans. The better institute among NIT Calicut or NMIT Allahabad depends on what branch you will choose. For Engineering, NIT Calicut is ranked 23rd and MNNIT is ranked 48th by NIRF 2020. Given below is a brief discussion about the two colleges. Admission Process and Course Fee NIT Calicut and MNNIT Allahabad both take admission based on JEE Main rank followed by JoSAA counselling. The first year course fee at NIT Calicut and MNNIT Allahabad is respectively INR 53,797 and INR 84,666.  Placements 139 companies visited NIT Calicut last year for placements, and a total of 80% students got placed. BTech CSE achieved the highest number of placements with 99% of its batch being placed. The top recruiters included Capgemini, Goldman Sachs, Infosys, Intel, JP Morgan Chase & Co. The highest CTC offered was 50 LPA whereas, the average CTC was 9.56 LPA.  For MNNIT, the main recruiters were Accenture, Adobe, Ashok Leyland, Canon, Capgemini, Dell, Deloitte, Futures First, Essar, Google, L&T, McAfee and National Instruments. A Total of 285 companies visited in 2019 for placements. The highest salary package of 36 LPA was received by a BTech CS student. The average CTC recorded was 7.82 LPA. Course Curriculum -

I was interested and had passion for architecture since lower classes itself. Faculty to student ratio is roughly 1:10 . All senior faculties and most of the faculties had masters and years of experience in the field. Exams were conducted in each one and half months span as per preplanned schedule from management.

        Fees -

There are separate course fee for DASA students(outside India) and students from inside India. Course fee is somewhat feasible as there is loan availability from SBI NITC branch. But every course fee is getting increased. So for students course fee is expensive. There is separate fee for hostels.

        Course Curriculum -

The course curriculum is same as other NITs. There are other branches like B. Arch, Biotechnology and chemistry, physics, etc. Course fee may vary accordingly. Exams include two internals and an end semester exam. Internal exams will help you to remember what you studied and save it for end exam for each semester.

        Fees -

Very feasible fee structure. ?50,000 per annum for general students, approx ?8,000 for SC/ST. No additional charges are needed. The college provides full transparency in fee structure. Payment can be paid through any mode: online, DD, cheque, cash etc.

        Course Curriculum -

Yes, the course is very relevant, and is designed at par with IIMs. There are ample opportunities to attend research seminars, sch are conducted monthly by the institution. Industry experts are also called upon to share their domain expertise, through a series of events known as MEx talks.

        Fees -

As compared to the state government engineering colleges the fee structure is not feasible. The approximate fee was about 20k. But now it’s doubled. We can pay fees by online and offline modes. There is no additional charge to be paid in order to secure an admission to the course. There is no transparency in the fee breakdown. Fee should be paid before the start of each semester.

        Course Curriculum -

Course curriculum are similar to the other college curriculum of the similar course. Since Institute is deemed one, the exams are conducted by College its self and exam evaluation is also done by Institute. I don’t believe that course curriculum is not groomed to provide industry specific knowledge to the students. So the students are struggling in the campus placements due to lack of industry specific knowledge. The industrial visits should be arranged by students them selves. There is no compulsory for the students to do the industrial visits as part of the course. The industrial visits should be arranged by students them selves.

It isbin between feasible and expensive. But not much expensive. It is aroundn1 lakh per annum not including hostel fees and meaa fees. There are no paid admission in our college. Admission to our college is only through the entrance exams and cannot secureva a seat by money

        Course Curriculum -

Yes thr curriculam was groomed to provide industry specific knowledge to the students and the this was more than enough dor placements. I am a first year student so i did not take any industrial visits but there will be industrial visits in the coming year and is really looking ng forward to it

The faculties are very supportive. A lot of extra curriculum activities like fest, hackathon, seminars, workshop, etc are conducted.

I didn't like the syllabus though. There is very less interaction with the machines in this college. Most of the lab experiment are performed by pg students and ug won't remember much of the experiment after 13 weeks when exams are taken.

        College Review

        Fees -

The fee structure is based on the family annual income. This is set forward by the Government of India MHRD. The fee for the course is nil if you belong to a minority or backward in income. The second category is middle class having an income of 1 lakh to 5 lakhs you'll have to pay 56000 annually. If you have an annual income of about 5 lakhs you'll have to pay sum of 112000 per annum. And hostel plus mess fee will be around five thousand per a month. Food is nice and the fee is feasible for a middle class family.

        Course Curriculum -

Curriculum for the course is mostly similar to the one that is followed by most of the universities. But the exam structure is completely different and based on exam pattern by IIT madras. Questions are more application level than theory. Course Curriculum Review Exam structure consists of two internal exams and an End semester exam. attendance of 80% is mandatory to attend end semester exam. About the examination, it tries to help students learn in depth the core subjects and also provide electives that each student can personally choose according to his or her convince. They try to include new subjects that are trending into the curriculum every semester. They also consider students reques...

        Fees -

When I took admission in 2013 then annual fees was 40000, 20k each semester but now the total annual fees is 120000.yes it is expensive.because everybody can not afford 2 lakh every year. But now many state goverments are launching scholarships schemes like mp launched medhavi chatra yojana.

        Course Curriculum -

One thing I observe in college that marking scheme is very strict.I saw my friends who study in other colleges easily get minimum 7 pointer but in our college one needs to mug up a lot of things to get even 6 pointer. The process of college was more marks oriented rather than the skill one has.
