- Placement and alumini: the institute has an immense alumini network along with the placement cell which attracts the top high paying companies ensuring good job opportunities for the students.it also enables research and further studies.

Dislikes
- In nit calicut gym was not free we want pay for it this thing i really hatred
- Fees are very high when we compared to other nits nit calicut collecting more fees which becoming heavy burden to poor students like me they don't even giving concession most of the people are not getting scholarships
- Our hostels are too old and actually it is alloted for 3 people but they are keeping 4 people in a room wash rooms are also not so good.

Placement Experience:
From the seventh semester, students are eligible for taking placement assessments. There should be a good cgpa (like 6.0 + ) for taking the tests.
Before that, there will be summer internships assessments which starts in the fifth semester. According to our stats, there will be less scope in my branch very few are placed in core jobs. It is suggested to take a course near to the software jobs or prepare according to the internships and placements purpose. If we are good at the core it will be good but better to prepare early for the software side before starting internships.
Companies like Microsoft, Oracle, Goldman Sachs, Bajaj Motors, Accenture etc. a lot of companies will visit there will be assessments and PI from them.
From the mechanical branch, a highest package from Oracle company of 28 LPA and the average will be around 7 LPA.
CSE students have a good scope in placements around 18 LPA average. About 65% of students will be placed.
According to the placement, students will decide what next.

Placement Experience:
Starting from sem 6 students are eligible for campus placement. Many top level companies like visiting our college. Around 140-150 companies visit our college. For more information, you can also go through the below link placement.nitc.ac.in
The highest package is around 45 lakhs. The average package is 10-11 lakhs. The median package is 8 lakhs. Almost 85-90 % of students are placed. I plan to do a job in the IT sector.

Remarks:
A college of good reputation, Curriculum is jam packed to keep the students busy all the time. More emphasis is given for reasearch works and for publishing papers in the reputed journals. Even the students have good track record of getting placed in good companies with handsome packages

This college is Very Good in Chemical Engineering. Generally south colleges have one advantages that you have opportunity to develop your speaking skill (in English), their mother tounge and culture too.

Ranking was good and placements were good too. Admissions process was like after counselling we had to report to college for admission and register for courses. Official NTA website and GATE websites were used for process

Remarks:
NIT Calicut has NIRF ranking of 23. Also it's atmosphere is very greenish and natural friendly. Also the campus is very near to my home. If you guys are willing to come the campus, I request you to start preparing for JEE main and score good enough to enter the beautiful campus.

Placement Experience:
From the 3rd semester onwards, you become eligible to seat in the placement drive. Companies like 'general electric', 'Goldmann Sachs', 'MRF', 'Dell', 'UTS airspace are some of the big companies along with 'Federal Bank and coaching institutes 'BYJU', 'Akaash' etc. The highest package was 33 Lacs/A and on average 8-10 Lacs/A. But my plan after M.Tech. was to go for higher studies, therefore, I was not interested in the placement drive.

Remarks:
NITC ranked less than 30 in NIRF 2019. Though there is limited seats available in NITC, I preferred. I applied for Thermal science and Machine Design, end up with machine design. Manufacturing engineering may be a good option if you opt NITC as most of the facilities are available for them.

Remarks:
I had joined NITC calicut way back in 2014 for my MTech and then continued with my PhD program in the same college. I joined this college because it has a very well equipped lab for control systems specialization which was something I was looking forward to back then. The pros about the college is that everything is very systematic which is also quite annoying at times as there is severe penalty for breaking the rules.

Placement Experience:
The placement is too good. Last year its around 87%.
From 5th sem onwards eligible for placement.
MRF, DELL, UBER, and more IT companies visit colleges every year.
I plan to go for GATE and UPSC EXAM(higher studies).

What is your review of the National Institute of Technology Calicut?

My sister completed her B.Tech from NIT Calicut a few years back. As a female student, she had a bitter experience at this college. Here are some of the things that she noticed during her stay at NIT Calicut-
- The girls hostel is very strict regarding outings. There is a fixed curfew from 7 pm to 6 am. Even for staying on campus after 7 pm, special permission is required.
- There are instances where you might encounter racism in the most casual manner, this is especially true for North Indian students.
- The hostel and college staff are blatantly partial towards female students and those who complain are told to leave the college.
- There is a system of daily roll call for female hostellers, which is again a gender-biased rule. The Resident Tutors are not supportive or helpful and may scold you for not attending the roll call even if you are new and not well aware of the hostel procedures.
- During LAN work or other repairs, no female attendee is present with the male workers within the girls hostel premises. The girls are expected to follow all the precautionary measures and no strict rules are laid for the male workers.
NIT Calicut is an institute of national importance with an excellent reputation and great placement records. However, as a female hosteller, my sister faced these obstacles which caused unnecessary frustration for her.
