Ques. Which college should I go SRM or NMIMS for CSE?
● Top Answer By Shivani Tiwari on 29 May 21
Ans.CSE at SRM is the best choice when compared to NMIMS. I have a relative and a close friend who graduated from these institutes, according to the reviews here is some analysis-
Infrastructure- SRM has a luxurious campus with a variety of facilities, State-of-the-art labs, libraries, Wi-Fi, a knowledge center, 4000 capacity AC auditorium, 100 online smart classrooms, Hostels with premium facilities, bookstores, dining options, cafeterias, prayer halls, gym and more.
Placement -Top salary USD 200,000 offered to NANO Researcher Mr. Shivaraman at California, USA. Nearly 100% placement of registered students at companies like TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Infosys, Siemens, and others.
Scholarships- Fee waiver of 50% to students with above 95% in CBSE or State Board examinations. Founder's Scholarship-full waiver on tuition, books, hostels, and mess, plus a stipend of Rs.1,000 per month to top state, SRMEEE, JEE rankers.
There should be no comparison between SRM and NMIMS. Both are best but for different purposes, SRM is best for engineering and NMIMS is best for the management courses. If we talk of the better one then NMIMS Mumbai and NMIMS Bengaluru are best but only for MBA not for engineering.
The following table shows statistics for both institutes:
If you want to join SRM then, I recommend you choose the south campus of Chennai. Don’t worry about the fees if you can afford the Modinagar campus fees then you can afford the Chennai campus fee too.Read more

● Top Answer By Siripuram Akash on 05 Oct 20
Ans.A degree in BMS and BBA are both professional courses that are more application oriented and can be easily aligned with your future goals, as compared to BCom. A degree in management is more profitable in terms of ROI and will result in greater work opportunities than a BCom degree.
While all the given Universities are reputed, let us break it down to know more about each of them based on some important factors:
10+2 from recognized institutions with core subjects of Maths and English.

Ques. Is the NMIMS Bsc Finance degree worth the money?
● Top Answer By Priyam Naskar on 25 May 21
Ans.One of my friends pursued his B.Sc in Finance from NMIMS. Based on his input, I might be able to help you with your question.
All the demands and requirements of any corporation are assimilated into the curriculum.
The syllabus includes major subjects like Business Analytics (SAS Software), Alternative Investment Markets, Operation Research, Debt Markets, Financial Reporting Standards, or even Corporate Finance.
Theseare exclusive to NMIMS B.Sc. It can not be seen or found in any other syllabus within India.
Mumbai being the financial capital of the country provides us with better industrial exposure.
If you have any misconception about having fun while you are here, drop it already. As at NMIMS you probably would not have time to do so. Just so you are fit for corporate culture, they train you in such a way that you don't face any problem in the future.
Since you have an inclination towards Finance, you would realize that everything you had endured was worth it in the end. And if the situation is the opposite, you'd be left far, far behind in the Finance race pulverizing yourself under constant pressure.Read more
Ques. How do I apply for the management quota in NMIMS for a BBA?
● Top Answer By Rishab Mittal on 26 May 21
Ans.There is no direct option for entry into NMIMS for a BBA through management quota. There are no such forms or applications released by the institute for such cases. But, there are other options that may lead to such an entry into NMIMS. The points below are a brief overview of how a student can get a management quota seat in NMIMS.
Generally, students clear NMAT-UG to get a seat in institutes like NMIMS for a BBA degree. But, there are some entries through the management quota too.
For a management quota seat, you need a recommendation from trustees. You can get in touch with someone from the SVKM board.
For a management quota seat in BBA, NMIMS may charge around Rs. 10 Lac donation, which is a huge amount.
Such an amount is not worth the BBA degree. You should try for some other institute, or prepare for NMAT next year.
Therefore, it is possible to get a management quota seat in NMIMS, but in an indirect way, and with a great expense.Read more

Ques. Which is better M.Sc. Statistics from Mumbai University or NMIMS?
● Top Answer By Shiv Nagar on 28 May 21
Ans.One of my cousins is studying PGD in Applied Statistics at the University of Mumbai and knows every professor from UoM Statistics Department.
Here are some pros and cons of Mumbai University.
It has a qualified and highly skilled faculty. Professors have deep theoretical knowledge.
The statistics department has good industry contacts.
It offers good placement offers. The average salary recorded here is 8.8 LPA
Professors mostly focus on theory so you will not understand the statistics of applications.
Students are taught old tech software with which you cannot code SAS, R.
You won’t get a chance of doing an internship as vacations are mostly spent completing projects.
If you going for M.Sc at NMIMS, you will get an internship opportunity in a government organization. This will give you good exposure to the industry.
Therefore, NMIMS is better than the University of Mumbai for pursuing an MSC in Statistics. Also, you will get a good opportunity if you have completed a Masters in Statistics and solved 9 Actuarial science papers.Read more

Ques. Is part time MBA from NMIMS worth after 4 years of experience in software industry?
● Top Answer By Jiya Roy on 28 May 21
Ans.A part-time MBA does not hold as much value as a full-time MBA does. One of my friends with an Executive MBA degree said it can only be a helping hand to support growth in your existing company or similar roles. It cannot provide much exposure. It will help you grow in the company you are already in.
For instance, if you similarly want to be promoted to a TL role or Mid-level managerial role in the same field, a part-time MBA can provide an edge, given the competitiveness, and can partly also assist in job role changes in the same organization.
However, in the case of a complete career shift, a part-time MBA can be a demanding approach. You will have to evidently prove your best side in the competition.
It is suggested that you take into account your long-term goals, before arriving at any conclusion. That translates, a part-time MBA can probably provide a short-term career uplift, while simultaneously an executive or full-time MBA program can most definitely boost your future career exposure and lift you to better profiles with ease.Read more
Ques. Please give an honest review for the NMIMS Mumbai campus for the BTech program?
● Top Answer By Swagat Das on 21 May 21
Ans.Here is a review of one of my friends who attended NMIMS Mumbai.
NMIMS holds a good and up-to-date Curriculum.
Even though most of the students come from rich family backgrounds, you won't feel left out, since many of the students here have a down-to-earth attitude.
The best part is there is No ragging, Not even a single case.
It offers good practical experience for the branches. The computer lab is well-equipped. The Civil and Mechanical department labs are also quite good.
Also, the syllabus is set to keep practical applications in mind, hence you start applying what you learn, to your major projects.
You will be trained to be industry-ready.
Most of the major recruiters prefer NMIMS students as they are trained to talk/behave professionally.
Also, Mumbai is the best place to start your “individual” life and the Nightlife there is great too.
NMIMS is an Expensive college.
The Living expenses are pretty high since you have to look for accommodation near Juhu/Andheri.
Join this college if and only if your family can really afford it.Read more
Ans.Having friends at NMIMS and also being a student there, I can mention it is a well-reputed engineering college. Popular for its faculty, NMIMS will certainly be a good choice for your career. Many professors have completed their PhDs and the HOD itself is an IITian.
There are certain things that make NMIMS stand out -
The infrastructure is very good. All the necessary facilities available and the classrooms and laboratories are well equipped.
The course curriculum is very good too and it gets updated regularly unlike Mumbai University.
The Curriculum keeps on updating, maintaining industry standards and demands.
NBA has also given accreditation to this college in B.Tech course which is very promising.
BTech at NMIMS Mumbai Campus
Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, etc.
The only thing which is probably on the downside is the course fee, which could be a bit much for some students. The minimum attendance required is 80% which is comparatively higher than other colleges.
You will get amazing college infrastructure and nice academics with good placements in core companies. Read more
Ques. What is the average package for BBA in NMIMS?
● Top Answer By Asutose Ghose on 20 May 21
Ans.My brother graduated last year from NMIMS after successfully completing his BBA with a specialization in the Finance domain.
Here are the key highlights of the placement records and academics at NMIMS.
You will enjoy the high-quality curriculum delivered by the top-notch faculty.
Placements are not at par with the records shown by the university. Although a lot of companies visit NMIMS due to their brand name, the actual scenario is not that good as people would expect. My cousin was one of those students who somehow got placed in Deloitte with a much lower package.
In his batch, the pay packages offered were rather poor. The only exception was 3 students, 2 of which got into an investment bank (9 LPA each), and the other 1 got around 4.5 LPA. Rest all the placed students got 3 LPA or even less than that. According to the student reviews, the average CTC offered in the 2020 placements was 4-5 LPA.
You will face stiff competition too, as there is a high intake of 240 (BBA)+60(BCom) students out of which most of them will opt for registration in no time.
Therefore do not get driven by the official placement statistics provided by the university. The actual scenario is quite different as mentioned above. However, if you manage to excel in academics along with lots of extracurricular activities, you can grab pretty good packages.Read more
Ques. For MBA in HR, should one choose NMIMS Mumbai or XIMB?
● Top Answer By Samriddhi Sarkar on 28 May 21
Ans.Having friends in both institutions, I suggest you to go NMIMS Mumbai. XIMB HR has recently switched their name from XIMB to XaHR. This cost them a lot in terms of placements. All of the companies, instead of reaching out to XIMB are showing up at NMIMS Mumbai boosting their demand day by day.
If I were to compare both the colleges based on certain parameters, I would say:
Batch: The batch size at NMIMS is 60 which are admitted on grounds of strict merit. On the other hand, XIMB takes in candidates on reservation grounds.
Location: If you have decided to reach Mumbai for your MBA, no doubt that it is indeed the best place. NMIMS provides better corporate interface and project opportunities.
MBA HR at NMIMS Mumbai
MBA HR at XIMB
KPMG, EY, Morgan Stanley, Barclays, etc.
Nestle, Berger, HSBC, American Express, etc.
Some of my friends who were on the wait-list of XIMB decided to switch to NMIMS eventually. And some of them withdrew their names from the wait-list just to reach other colleges (these were in the lower-tier) but not XIMB. Even the students who are already studying at XIMB advise others to not reach there.Read more
