Is there an entrance exam for UG admission at Utkal University?

No entrance exam is required for BA, BSc, and BCom. Admission is based on Class 12 marks via SAMS Odisha. B.Pharm requires an OJEE score. BCA+MCA (5-year) requires the IMCA entrance test.

What is CPET and who needs to take it?

CPET is the Common PG Entrance Test. It is conducted by the Odisha state government for MA, MSc, MCom, and similar PG admissions. The CPET 2026 exam was held June 20 to 30. MBA and MCA candidates use OJEE instead.

What is the eligibility for BA LLB at Utkal University?

Candidates must pass 10+2 in any stream with minimum 45% marks. SC/ST candidates need 40%. Admission is through the university law entrance exam.

Does Utkal University offer management quota seats?

No. Utkal University is a state government university. All seats are filled through merit and SAMS Odisha counselling. There is no management quota or donation-based admission path.

What is the CPET application fee at Utkal University?

The CPET fee is INR 500 for General category candidates and INR 300 for SC/ST. Payment is made online during CPET registration on the SAMS PG portal.

Can students from outside Odisha apply to Utkal University?

Yes. There is no state domicile restriction for most programmes. Students from all states can apply through SAMS Odisha. International students may also apply with a last date of July 31 each year.

How is the PG merit list calculated at Utkal University?

PG merit is based on CPET score (70% weightage) and qualifying exam marks (30%). Some programmes also conduct a Group Discussion and Personal Interview round before final seat allotment.

What is the PhD admission process at Utkal University?

PhD admission requires a Masters degree with minimum 55% marks (50% for reserved categories). Candidates must clear a university entrance test and viva voce. NET-qualified candidates receive 30% weightage. PhD registration opens from August 1, 2026. The application fee is INR 1,800.

Likes

The annual fest which is named as "cusp".
Location where the college is situated.
The faculties are very friendly and well qualified

Dislikes

The food of the hostel canteen is horrible
The college is far from the canteen which creates problem during lunch breaks
Management of hostel is not up to the mark.

Course Curriculum Overview:

BDS include 4 yrs of curriculum and 1 year compulsory internship. This college prepares us well to face every ups and downs in life. I think more self study time should be given to the students and the college timing should be reduced.

Helping the needful was the main aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose this course. There is great opportunity for patients exposure as you will either assisting or operating on patients. Exam base should be changed for yearly to semester - wise.

Course is very good, very Bachelor in Occupational Therapy is an undergraduate program in occupational therapy, where one does not directly treat a personal injury but aids the patient. The course offers Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology, Psychol
specializations like Paediatrics, Adult rehabilitation, Hand therapy, Vision rehabilitation, Community consultation, Assisted living, etc can be pursued to learn more in- depth aspects of the field.

About hostel in your bathroom and washroom that not clean
Your campus is also not cleaning for patient
