Kota University was established in the year 2003 by the Government of Rajasthan. At present, the university offers various UG, PG and M.Phil & Ph.D. courses along with a Diploma program in various specializations.

At UG level, Kota University offers B.Sc and Diploma courses in various specializations. 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics is the minimum eligibility criteria for admission. Admission is offered on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination. Shortlisted candidates are called for the counselling round on the basis of their marks in 10+2.

At Postgraduate level, Kota University offers MA, M.Sc, M.Tech, MCA, MBA, M.Com and MSW courses in different stream in full-time mode. Bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline is the minimum eligibility criteria. Admission to all the above programs is entrance-based followed by an interview. For M.Tech, GATE passed candidates are also eligible to apply.
Admission to MBA shall be as per CMAT guidelines. CMAT is an online computer-based test conducted by AICTE, India. Students applying for CMAT need to register online. MCA admission shall be as per RMCAAT guidelines. M.P.Ed. admissions shall be offered as per M.P.Ed. Centralized Admission Committee, Govt. of Rajasthan.

Key Point: For the candidates belonging to the states other than Rajasthan, a minimum of 60% marks are required at Graduation level. In the case of Rajasthan state candidates, if minimum required percentage is 50 for some courses then the candidates belonging to other states must have obtained at least 50% marks.
Kota University also offers Ph.D. and M.Phil. courses in various specializations in full-time mode. The application process for M.Phil & Ph.D. courses start in the month of January and the eligible candidates are required to sit for the Ph.D. entrance test based on which the seats are allotted to the students. Master’s degree with 55% marks in aggregate is the minimum eligibility criteria.
