- Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
- Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
- The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.
Dislikes
- We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
- I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
- There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

Course Curriculum Overview:
The course curriculum is pretty well planned, for any branch. The faculties are highly qualified people(done their Masters/PhD from foreign Universities /IITs /IISc /NITs, who are very helpful, and easily approachable. Ready to help in your subjects and doubt whenever in need.

- Mess food is bad but its like this for nearly every college
Course Curriculum Overview:
In this college, the faculty is mainly from Bengal itself. Faculty have enough experience and knowledge as many of them have done their Ph.D. course from IITs, NITs, Jabalpur University, and many more good universities. Style of teaching is mainly on blackboard and some teachers use the PPT for teaching. The mode of communication is mainly English. Most of the faculty is good but some faculty is not that good in teaching.

Placement Experience:
there is a dedicated campus placement team consisting of representatives from each dept & faculty as well. More than 600 companies usually visit for on-campus recruitment drives. Starting from 7th sem, August onwards campus placement gets started. Avg placement is more than 85% with a maximum package of 50-80 lacs & and the package is 6-8 lacs.

From the 6 th semester we are eligible for campus placement. Major companies like microsoft, BPCL, JP Morgan, TI etc comes for placement
Highest package is offerd is 51 lpa by Microsoft about 80-90 percentage of students got palced

Placement of my college is much better compare to other colleges.in my college from 7th semester students are eligible for placements,many companies are visited like reliance, vedantu ,hero, tata ,cognizant, jsw and many more.highest package in the year 2022 is 57 lakhs,82% students are placed,i have a plan about a government

Course Curriculum Overview:
I feel interested in this domain. So I chose this course. Most faculties are Ph.D. holders. 3 times a semester exam takes place. they are well-qualified, and their teaching methods are engaging and effective. Exams are held semester-wise and on time.

Placement Experience:
The placements are good in this college. in the 2022-23 placement drive, 182 companies visited and 82% of students are placed. Top recruiting companies are Microsoft, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Reliance, jio, Vedanta, TCS, icici Bank, etc. The highest package offered was 70 LPA and the average was 13 LPA.

- Course structure - Helpful for national level exams.
- Food- It's more than my expectations with such a cheap price.
- Students to faculty ratio- It's almost 1:1.
Dislikes
- Labs- these experiments are not well-designed and more focus on theory.
- Hostel- single room would be a better option as many institutes have this for masters students.
- Campus placement can be made better for non- technical students.
Placement Experience:
The placement for masters students is poor for science. It's not a problem with the institute, but it's a national problem. You can take a try in different IT companies and electronics companies, but I've seen anyone getting selected from MSC. There are some coaching institutes like Akash that recruit master's students. Btech students get a higher opportunity for jobs and the average package varies from 1M- 1.5M per annum, where the maximum salary goes up to 5-8M rupees per annum. almost 70-80 % get placed every year, but it's less than 10% for masters students in science. I planned to go for Ph.D. after the degree. The course is helpful for NET/GATE and almost 70-80% crack these exams every year.

From 5 h semester, students become eligible to get an internship with a stipend. From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. The highest package is about 40 lakhs to 50 lakhs and the average package is 10 lakhs to 12 lakhs. 90 per cent of students get placement. After getting the degree I want to do a job in research work

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur
- Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
- Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
- Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
- Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
- Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
- Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
- Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
Overall, NIT Durgapur is a great place if you are unable to make it to IITs.
