University of Calcutta Ph.D Law: Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Ans. The total programme fee for PhD Law at University of Calcutta is INR 18,000 for the minimum three-year doctoral course, at INR 6,000 per year covering tuition and registration charges. No application fee is payable under the University of Calcutta PhD Regulations 2025. Thesis submission and filing fees may be levied separately by the Faculty of Law at the time of thesis submission.

Ans. Candidates must hold an LL.M or equivalent postgraduate law degree from a Bar Council of India recognised institution with at least 55% aggregate marks. SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and Differently-Abled candidates are eligible with 50% marks. Candidates in the final semester of their qualifying degree may apply provisionally and must produce the final certificate before the scheduled interview date.
