KKMU Admission Dates 2026

KKMU follows a rolling admissions model with two annual intake windows in January and July. The 2026-27 session is currently live for programmes starting in January 2027. Applications are open at admissions.kkmu.edu.in, and decisions are typically communicated within two to four weeks of submission.

KKMU Courses and Fees

KKMU offers 40+ programmes at UG, PG, and doctoral levels across five schools. Tuition starts at INR 1.75 Lakhs per year for domestic and SAARC-region students. The flagship B.Tech CSE carries a total course fee of INR 5.86 Lakhs over four years.

B.Tech CSE specialisations include Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Science, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, and Internet of Things. The MBA programme offers specialisations in Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, and Business Analytics.

KKMU Admission Process

KKMU follows a merit-and-aptitude-based selection process. Admission is granted on the basis of qualifying exam scores, national or state entrance exam performance, and a GD/PI round for management programmes. The university offers rolling admissions with two intakes per year, which means applications are evaluated continuously rather than in a single annual cycle.

B.Tech CSE

B.Tech CSE is the flagship engineering programme at KKMU. Eligibility and selection stages are as follows:

• Eligibility: Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects from a recognised board
• Entrance exam: Valid JEE Main score OR CGPET score OR CUET UG score OR KKMU Aptitude Test
• Selection stages: Online application submission, document verification, merit-based seat allotment, and admission confirmation with fee payment

KKMU does not enforce a minimum JEE Main cutoff score, making the programme accessible to aspirants across a wide score range.

MBA

The MBA is the flagship postgraduate management programme at KKMU.

• Eligibility: Passed bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university with minimum 50% aggregate marks
• Entrance exam: Valid CAT / XAT / CMAT / MAT / ATMA / NMAT score OR KKMU Aptitude Test
• Selection stages: Online application, shortlisting based on entrance score, Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD/PI), merit list release, and admission confirmation

BBA, BCA, B.Com (H), B.Sc CS, and BHM

All three-year UG programmes under Management, Sciences, and Hospitality require 10+2 from a recognised board in any stream. Selection is based on CUET UG score or KKMU Aptitude Test, combined with academic performance in Class 12. No GD/PI round is required for these programmes.

B.Des

The Bachelor of Design programme requires 10+2 in any stream. Admission is based on design aptitude as assessed through UCEED, NIFT entrance exam, NID entrance exam, or the KKMU design aptitude test. A portfolio review may supplement the entrance score at shortlisting stage.

PG Programmes (MCA, M.Tech CSE, M.Des, MHM, M.Com H)

MCA requires a bachelor’s degree with Mathematics or Statistics as a subject. M.Tech CSE requires a B.Tech or BE in a relevant engineering discipline, with preference given to valid GATE scoreholders. M.Des, MHM, and M.Com (H) require the corresponding UG qualification and are selected through the KKMU Aptitude Test.

KKMU Placements

KKMU reports placement data on a self-reported basis, as the university is not yet covered under NIRF’s placement verification framework. In the 2025 placement season, the highest offer was INR 8.02 LPA and the average package was INR 4.05 LPA.

Key recruiters confirmed across placement seasons include companies such as TCS, Accenture, Deloitte, ICICI Bank, Zomato, Airtel, Godfrey Phillips India Limited, Indofil Industries, Modicare Limited, Dell, and Intel. The university benefits from institutional industry partnerships with Godfrey Phillips India, Indofil Industries, and Modicare through its co-op education model, which also generates pre-placement offers for participating students.

The co-op education model at KKMU embeds students in partner organisations for structured industry stints, with the employer’s hiring feedback directly tied to scholarship continuation from year three onwards. This design pushes a portion of students toward confirmed hire pipelines before their final year.

KKMU Scholarships

KKMU’s scholarship framework covers merit-at-entry, continuing academic performance, and special-category concessions. All scholarships are applied against tuition fees and are capped at 100% of tuition in total across concurrent awards.

Students from Class 3 and beyond must pass all subjects and, for years three and four of B.Tech, must also receive a hiring-intent feedback from their co-op employer to remain eligible for continuation scholarships.

KKMU Campus and Infrastructure

KKMU’s 25-acre campus at Mahmara, Durg, is located near the Shivnath river. The campus was designed with input from internationally recognised architects including Anna Heringer and Sami Rintala, and features a fully air-conditioned green layout with open walkways, water bodies, and a Central Plaza.

Academic infrastructure includes U-shaped smart classrooms accommodating 30 students per batch, advanced computer labs, and a digital library offering access to 4.5 crore free digital copies of academic resources alongside physical periodicals, journals, theses, and e-books. The 4,500 sq ft Student Activity Centre is built around five natural elements and houses spaces for wellness, yoga, meditation, media production, music, and dance.

Residential facilities include separate hostels for boys and girls. The campus also includes a cafeteria, medical centre, sports ground, auditorium, and Wi-Fi coverage across all zones. The co-op education model connects students with industry partners through structured placements that take place alongside academic terms.

KKMU vs Kalinga University vs ITM University Raipur

All three are private universities in Chhattisgarh serving similar applicant pools: students seeking UG and PG programmes in engineering, management, and allied fields who want a private campus experience within the state. Kalinga University and ITM University Raipur were established in 2011 and 2012 respectively, giving them a longer operational track record than KKMU.

KKMU’s co-op education model and architect-designed campus are differentiators within this peer group. Kalinga University and ITM University offer a larger campus footprint and longer alumni networks given their older establishment. ITM University Raipur carries a lower MBA fee band for cost-sensitive applicants. Applicants comparing the three should factor in the specific programme, campus infrastructure, and available specialisations for their chosen field.
