Ques. Which college is better, the University of Cincinnati or Miami University?

    ● Top Answer By Pratyasha on 03 Feb 21

Ans. Both the institutes have different characteristics which distinguish them from one other; so you have to decide which college you want to depend on your needs, requirements and the kind of experience you wish to seek. Miami University may be tough for undergraduate education but the University of Cincinnati has great graduate schools. There is a lot of diversity at the University of Cincinnati and the number of international students is also very high.  Miami University is a public institution situated in Oxford. The area around the school is rural. Most of the students live on-campus or in nearby apartments off-campus. Their fraternity or Sorority culture is solid and existent in the school. You’ll find their campus beautiful and full of activities. The University of Cincinnati is also a public school with an urban setting. The university’s medical school is pretty good and they have a large engineering school. Other than that, their law school, school of architecture and design, nursing school, also have a great reputation as well. There are a lot of research opportunities available to you if you are keen on engineering or sciences. The Med school at the institute also offers great chances for students willing to study in a medical-related field and is renowned for its faculty. Ques. Is the University of Cincinnati good for a Ph.D. in accounting when it comes to academia and industry jobs after graduation?

    ● Top Answer By Rishikesh Kumar on 03 Feb 21

Ans. If you take a look at the big accounting firms, you will see that they do not have Ph.D. holders in their. While there are some Ph.D in accounting, these are still rare scenarios even at such big firms. Hence, it's common that you may not even hear something like this at other places. If you are thinking of becoming a CPA, there is an advanced coursework you will have to do apart from a bachelor’s degree. Most CPAs generally have done a master's degree at max. The Ph.D. degree in your resume adds a research component that usually has limited uses which may be the case for many PhDs and research. Coming back to UCincinnati, the institute sees more than 80% of its graduates getting placed within three months of completing their education. The median starting salary for accounting graduates is USD 53,526 which is pretty good. Aramark Corporation, Ashland Inc, Bestek Global LLC, Fifth Third Bank are some of the top recruiters at the institute. When it comes to Academia, a Ph.D. in accounting is not something you see every day means it is quite rare. Many professors have done their Masters but have not done their Ph.D. You may find this usually in small schools where they don’t consider this aspect. If you are keen to learn to conduct accounting research, you may as well go ahead and complete a Ph.D. in accounting. Usually, people who have done PhDs to enter academia leave because what is expected of them at the institute is high meanwhile the compensation is quite low. There is no doubt that a CPA who has experience will surely make more money than a college or university accounting professor. You can consider this if you are doing a Ph.D. with good salary expectations. You can consider doing a Ph.D. depending on aspects that are important to you and whether or not the institute will be able to help you meet your objectives and goals. Most households have an unsolved Rubik's Cube. You can esily solve it learning a few algorithms.Read more

Ques. Which university is better for an MS in computer engineering, Illinois Institute of Technology or the University of Cincinnati?

    ● Top Answer By Neerendra Singh on 03 Feb 21

Ans. If you are thinking of pursuing research-based MS, then you have to consider whether your choice of institute will have the professor or lab where you want to work on your research. You also need to ensure if they will provide you with funds so you don’t have the burden of paying the tuition for the degree. If you look at their rankings, both are ranked at 79th place in Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs rankings by US News and World Report.  If you have completed your education as an undergraduate in the computer science or engineering department, then you will have only a few classes. You won’t get much value out of it as there will be very few classes teaching you advanced topics that you are keen to learn. In the other classes, you will be learning things you have studied or had a glance at earlier. The rankings of institutes are based on many factors that may or may not be important to you, so you should rather focus on aspects that are of significance to you. The master's degree usually is 30 credits and you may complete the degree in 2 years or before too if you are not thinking of pursuing the Ph.D. The classes you take with this period may not have full effect if you consider entering the industry. Here are the program details of both the colleges for you to compare: University of Cincinnati Illinois Institute of Technology Program M.SC (Computer Engineering) M.ENG (Computer Engineering) Tuition Fees USD13,105/Year USD45,447/Year Exam Scores (Average) IELTS-7.5 TOEFL-100 SAT-1230 ACT-26 IELTS-7.5 TOEFL-105 SAT-1320 ACT-28 Research Universities rankings (Forbes) #152 #111 Top Recruiters General Electric Aviation, University of Cincinnati, General Electric Co., The Kroger Company, etc. 6COM.Inc, Allscripts, Amazon, Antra Inc, Black Phoenix, Deloitte, etc. The tuition cost of the programs is also an important aspect you should consider while choosing your college. The University of Cincinnati being a public institute offers a lot of resources in placing you in the computer engineering industry. Illinois Institute of Technology may be very expensive for you if they do not have enough funds for your education. Whichever institute costs you less will reduce your burden of debt so that may be the best choice considering the financial aspect. The decision is yours to make keeping in mind the factors which are of utmost importance to you.Read more

An eduaction counselors suggested me to apply here based on my grades and preferences. So, upon doing reasearch I found that they attract over $900 million in research each year and also foster a uniquely collaborative environment that transforms potential into actual results. Thus it made me keen to get admitted at the university after securing a GPA of 7. I had applied through an application form for $50 as the fee.

    Course Curriculum :

The Ph.D. program in Food Science is a multidisciplinary program consisting of Food Chemistry, Food Processing and Engineering, and Food Microbiology and Safety. Students are expected to obtain a breadth of food science knowledge by taking courses in all program areas with the majority of courses stressing one of the three areas of emphasis.

    1. First Reason is because of the scholarship which covers almost 75% of my tuition fee. 2. Very few universities have research facilities in the field I am interested to specialize in (Acoustics). UC was one of them, having the laboratories and active research. 3. UC is known to have good Co-op's and internship opportunities with a wide variety of companies in the Engineering and Technology sector, which gives lot of exposure to the industry. 4. Though I got admits to universities in other countries, some experts I've talked to suggested US as a better country to pursue higher education. Firstly, because a US degree from a good university is well valued anywhere in the world. And the opportunities and experience here is more practically oriented.

    Course Curriculum :

Any Masters course abroad would have a wide curriculum focusing equally on theory and practical application in the industries. Unlike the Indian system of education where there is more emphasis on the assessments and final exams, the courses here are designed to grade students more based on assignments and projects to keep a check on continuous and effective learning, which is definitely better than writing exams for the sake of just scoring as we learn a lot during these discussions.

When I first decided to study abroad, I had no idea about me studying here, in fact , I didn't even know about this college, until I got recommended by one of its alumni. I also received helped with the admission process, and in order to be able to study here, I sat for my IELTS and SAT test in which I scored 6.5 and 1095 . For the application form, I applied through the common application portal for which I paid $100.

    Course Curriculum :

The subject was very vast. It used to get boring at times too since it was a theory based course. With that being said, monthly guest lectures by prominent professors were also conducted, which would be open for debates. Due to this, it helped me to reason out and think critically. It also boosted my confidence in asking sensible questions and finding solutions to world related problems.

As I have my relatives in Cincinnati, I had chosen this college which made my college experience unmatched. After doing some research I came to know about the university having outstanding academic programs, world-class faculty, and successful co-op partnership around the globe. The university was included among the- top-tier of the Best National Universities- and ranked 7th, among the best in Master of Science in Finance. I had applied through a graduate admissions application along with a $5 surcharge for application, with $100 as an application fee. I had secured a GPA of 8 in my undergraduate degree.

    Course Curriculum :

The course was divided into three parts that include- Business Foundation Courses, Core Courses, and Focus areas and Electives. It included accountancy, data analysis, marketing foundations, econometrics for finance, equity analysis, and portfolio management. The university even provides learning through online facilities. The curriculum provides training in theory and application of financial concepts and the program is ranked among top 10 best value programs.

Great Pathology program. I really liked the faculty and the students. I also liked Cincinnati a lot. In addition, I moved here with family, so someone I live here with got a job here as well. I also liked the labs and the research done here.

    Course Curriculum :

I like it. There are a few things I would change, but it is good overall. In our graduate program, we are only required to take classes our first year, but we are limited to a particular set of classes that our program chooses.
