    TUFTS IN A NUTSHELL

Ultimately, I chose Tufts because it was the best school I got into. I heard of it from my mom who was simply researching top colleges because I was a top-caliber student in high school. The application process was similar to others, requiring the Common Application and supplemental essay questions. This was one of twelve schools I applied to, and one of the four I was admitted into. In hindsight, I realize that my essays for my application to Tufts were the best out of all of my other college application essays because I gave myself freedom with them and did not stress over them being perfect. In high school I was valedictorian out of 418 students, class President, a student member of the District Board of Education, published author and illustrator, founder and president of Math club, partner of Wigs and Wishes, varsity cheerleader, among other accolades. I was an accomplished student, which is characteristic of the students at Tufts.

    Exams -

Tufts was not very clear about their minimum requirements to get in because they take a holistic approach to admissions. I took the ACT and got a 32, and a super score of 33. My high school GPA was over 4.6 with a non-weighted GPA of 4.0. When I applied in January 2017, there were about 20,000 applicants and they accept around 3,000. I came into Tufts with four AP credits that they accepted and could apply.

    TUFTS UNIVERSITY

I specifically enjoyed the people when I went to campus. I also liked the liberal arts vibe and the prestige of the school fit my needs for what I was looking for. My college counselor told me to look at the school, but before I didn't think much of it. I ended up applying early decision and getting accepted.

    Exams -

I took the ACT and got a 33. I would say the average score is about 31-32 at least in my year. I only took it twice. But I did study and I was more than prepared to take the exam. They accept both ACT and SAT and don't require any further exams, even AP which I did take for biology, psychology, calculus, and world history.
