University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee International Admissions

At UWM, international admissions are managed by the Center for International Education. The CIE has established some of the additional requirements that international applicants have to meet at the time of applications.

Admission Requirements for International Students

  • Evidence of English proficiency for non-native English speakers.
  • Submission of original or officially certified copies of transcripts and other academic records.
  • Certified English translations of the official documents that are in any other language.
  • Letter(s) of recommendation, including at least one from an academic counselor.
  • Personal statement or essay highlighting an applicant’s interest in the particular program
  • Standardized test scores, as per program requirements.
  • A professional resume consisting of an applicant’s educational and professional achievements.
