I chose Santa Clara University for a handful of reasons. Firstly, the school offered me a wonderful financial aid package. I loved that there were small class sizes, meaning I was able to get to know my professors on a personal level. Additionally, SCU is located in Silicon Valley (good professional opportunities) and has a wide range of successful alumni.
I obtained a 1410 SAT score and for that reason, my financial aid package proved so large. Additionally, I chose the biology program because I enjoyed STEM classes in high school and wanted to further apply my skills professionally. I decided to add Spanish as a major because it is a very useful skill to have in any type of workplace.
Although there were a lot of reasons why I liked SCU, the determining factors included the available financial aid package for me, the general ambiance of the school, location in the bay area, and graduation rate.
The curriculum is rigorous for my major, however, core classes are manageable and overall break up the stress of more difficult STEM classes. I think that it's all doable with good time management skills.
