International graduate priority for Business School programs is March 15, 2027 (final May 15, 2027); Colorado School of Public Health and College of Nursing priority is January 15, 2027. Nearest actionable window is Spring 2027 international graduate priority on September 15, 2026 (final October 15, 2026) — closing within five weeks. Undergraduate applications route through the Common Application; graduate applications route through CU Denver’s own Slate portal, with a nonrefundable application fee of USD 75 (around INR 7,163).

University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus admissions run on a mix of rolling review and priority-plus-final deadlines, so Indian applicants can enter the queue any time from cycle open through the final cut. Undergraduate entry needs Class XII with a minimum of about 65 percent (roughly a 3.0 GPA equivalent); most graduate programs need a four-year bachelor’s with a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, and business programs like MS Business Analytics and MS Information Systems lift that floor to 3.30.

  • Fall 2027 primary intake: international graduate priority deadline March 15, 2027 for the Business School; January 15, 2027 for Nursing and Public Health.
  • Base tuition for master’s programs is USD 20,262 to USD 22,178 (around INR 19.35 to 21.18 Lakhs) per 9-month year; international application fee is USD 75 (around INR 7,163), waived when you use ECE or WES for credential evaluation.
  • Eligibility: UG needs Class XII at 65 percent plus; PG needs a Bachelor’s with 3.0 GPA (roughly 60 percent plus in Indian terms); English floor is IELTS 6.5 (all bands 5.5) or TOEFL iBT 79.
  • Institutional acceptance rate is around 75 percent; individual graduate programs at the Business School, Nursing, and MPH run more selective.

Indian applicants cluster in MS Computer Science, MS Business Analytics and AI, MS Electrical Engineering, MS Nursing, MPH, and the PhD in Information Systems. Student reviews of University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus flag the Anschutz research pipeline in health sciences and the downtown Business School’s block-format 8-week terms as the two features that pull most attention.

University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus Eligibility for Indian Students

CU Denver reviews Indian applicants against academic thresholds and English proficiency, not a single blanket cut-off. The Downtown Denver campus and the Anschutz Medical Campus set slightly different rules for credential evaluation, but the underlying academic and English floors match. Every degree-bearing Indian transcript must be evaluated by ECE or WES on a course-by-course basis; Anschutz programs, including MPH and Nursing, require WES specifically.

  • UG general entry: Class XII with 65 percent plus (broadly equivalent to a US 3.0 GPA) from a recognised board, plus English proficiency.
  • PG general entry: Four-year bachelor’s degree (Indian three-year bachelor’s is often accepted, but ECE or WES equivalency must confirm US bachelor’s parity) with a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, roughly 60 percent plus in Indian terms.
  • Business School PG floor: Cumulative GPA 3.30 for MS Business Analytics and MS Information Systems. Below that, three years of full-time experience or a prior graduate degree substitutes.
  • MPH floor: Preferred cumulative GPA 3.0, three letters of recommendation, and WES ICAP course-by-course evaluation.

University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus English Proficiency Scores

Institution-wide graduate minimums are set by the Graduate School and applied through each college. Individual programs can raise the floor — the One Year MBA, for example, requires TOEFL iBT 95 plus.

TestOverall MinimumSubscore Minimum

CU Denver English Waiver Options for Indian Students

Indian citizenship does not qualify for a blanket English waiver — CU Denver exempts only citizens of Australia, Canada, Ireland, Jamaica, Malta, New Zealand, Trinidad and Tobago, and the United Kingdom. Indian applicants who completed a prior bachelor’s or master’s degree in one of those countries can request a waiver; those with an India-medium degree cannot rely on medium of instruction alone. MPH applicants get a similar carve-out if their degree is from an approved English-speaking country with a 3.0 GPA.

University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus PG Programs and English Scores

PG base tuition at CU Denver ranges from about USD 20,262 (INR 19.35 Lakhs) to USD 22,178 (INR 21.18 Lakhs) per 9-month year across most master’s programs — see the course-wise fees breakdown for the exact per-program figures and any specialised MBA or Architecture rates. Below are the master’s routes Indian applicants file most often, drawn from official program pages.

Insider note: The Business School’s block-format 8-week terms let full-time students stack more courses per semester than a traditional 15-week model — plan your credit load with your programme advisor early because pace matters more than in most US master’s programs.

Note: Program-specific entry requirements, fees, and intake availability may differ from the institution-wide minimums shown above. Always confirm on the official University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus page for your chosen program before applying.

University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus Undergraduate Programs

Undergraduate applicants file through the Common Application (first-year or transfer) or CU Denver’s own online form. Every international first-year admit is auto-considered for a merit scholarship worth USD 5,000 to USD 10,000 (around INR 4.78 to 9.55 Lakhs) per year, no separate application required. Class XII marks and English scores drive the admission decision; SAT and ACT are test-optional.

Planning note: The Fall 2027 undergraduate application closes on July 15, 2027, but Indian applicants should aim to submit by March 2027 so I-20 processing and F-1 visa slotting fit before the August 16, 2027 semester start.

University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus MBA Programs

The Business School runs seven MBA formats; two draw the most Indian interest — the One Year MBA (full-time, 45 credits) and the Executive MBA (18 months, 48 credits). The One Year MBA opens for Fall entry only and closes for international applicants on May 15, 2027 for Fall 2027, with an April 15 priority round. The Executive MBA runs rolling admissions with a new cohort every August.

One Year MBA Rounds and Requirements

  • Early Bird: February 15, 2027 (best scholarship consideration).
  • Priority: April 15, 2027.
  • Final (international): May 15, 2027.
  • Work experience: Not required — the programme is open to fresh graduates and career-switchers alike.
  • GMAT or GRE: Waived for applicants with cumulative GPA 3.0 plus; sub-3.0 applicants can substitute three years of work, a prior master’s, CFA Level 1, or CPA.
  • Tuition: USD 58,000 (around INR 55.40 Lakhs) flat rate covers coursework and the international residency, excluding student fees and textbooks.

Executive MBA and Interview Format

The EMBA is aimed at professionals with 10 plus years of experience and carries no application fee, no prior degree beyond bachelor’s, and no GMAT or GRE requirement. Tuition is a fixed USD 85,000 (around INR 81.18 Lakhs) across the 18-month programme, billed in eight instalments. Applicants meet Executive MBA staff informally through the process; there is no scored interview panel, but qualifying interviews with programme leadership are standard once your file is complete. Aviation and Health Administration Executive tracks lift the experience floor to 12 years and 3 years respectively.

Reality check: The One Year MBA’s block-format 8-week terms mean five back-to-back terms plus an international residency — factor that pace into your F-1 status and CPT planning before you commit.

University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus PhD Programs

PhD admissions are Fall-only across CU Denver and CU Anschutz. Priority deadlines for most doctoral programmes, including PhD Nursing and PhD Health Services Research, sit at January 15, 2027 for Fall 2027 entry, with the Slate portal opening August 15, 2026. Business School doctoral tracks (PhD Information Systems, PhD Health Administration) file on the Business School calendar — international priority is March 15, 2027. Funded PhDs at Anschutz typically bundle tuition remission with a research assistantship; check with your department for the current stipend, which is set annually and varies by college.

Application Process for CU Denver PhD Applicants

  • Contact a prospective faculty supervisor early — most PhD admissions turn on faculty match.
  • Submit statement of purpose, three academic LORs, transcripts with ECE or WES evaluation, and a writing sample where required.
  • English scores are the same as master’s programmes: IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 79.

University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus Application Process

Undergraduate international applicants file the Common Application (first-year or transfer) or CU Denver’s own portal; graduate applicants file through the CU Denver Slate portal, with MPH candidates routing through SOPHAS. Business School applicants can apply for one term only per cycle. Follow the sequence below.

  1. Choose your intake (Fall primary, Spring for Business and some MS tracks) and locate the programme page on cudenver.edu or cuanschutz.edu.
  2. Create an account on the relevant portal — undergraduate first-year applicants start on the Common Application or CU Denver portal; graduate applicants use Slate; MPH applicants use SOPHAS.
  3. Order your Indian transcripts and mark-sheets, then commission a WES ICAP or ECE course-by-course evaluation (Anschutz programmes require WES). Turnaround is 7 to 30 business days.
  4. Book and take IELTS Academic, TOEFL iBT, PTE, or Duolingo. Send scores directly to CU Denver via the testing agency.
  5. Draft your statement of purpose, secure two to three LORs, prepare CV, and, for MBA and Business MS programmes, complete short-answer essays.
  6. Pay the application fee of USD 75 (around INR 7,163) on the CU Denver Slate portal — waived automatically when you select ECE or WES for credential evaluation, and waived for approved recruitment-agency applicants.
  7. Track the checklist inside your applicant portal; graduate offers typically arrive within 4 to 8 weeks of a completed file, with rolling review at Business School and Nursing.
  8. Accept your offer, request your I-20, pay the SEVIS I-901 fee (USD 350 or around INR 33,429), then book your F-1 visa interview.

University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus Documents Required for Indian Students

Document lists are set at the college level. The core CU Denver graduate list is uniform; MPH, Nursing, and MBA layer on programme-specific pieces. Keep certified digital scans in a single folder before you start the online form.

  • Passport bio page (validity of at least six months beyond intended course end).
  • Official transcripts and mark-sheets from every post-secondary institution attended, with English translation where issued in another language.
  • WES ICAP or ECE course-by-course evaluation of Indian degree, direct-to-institution.
  • English test score report (IELTS, TOEFL iBT, PTE, or Duolingo) sent electronically by the testing agency.
  • Two or three Letters of Recommendation — academic for freshers, professional plus academic for MBA and MS applicants with work experience.
  • Statement of Purpose or personal essay, tailored to the specific programme.
  • Updated Resume or CV, particularly for MBA, MS Business Analytics, and MS Information Systems.
  • Programme-specific artefacts — portfolio for M.Arch and BFA Film, writing sample for select PhD tracks, GRE or GMAT scores if GPA sits below the programme floor.
  • Financial affidavit and bank statement for I-20 issuance after admission (typically covering the first year of estimated attendance).
  • Digital passport-size photograph for visa and campus ID.

University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus Acceptance Rate

The institutional acceptance rate at CU Denver sits around 75 percent, placing it in the access-oriented public research tier — that is, the university admits most applicants who meet its stated academic and English requirements. Individual programme rates diverge sharply from that figure.

How Selectivity Varies by Programme

Business School MS tracks (Business Analytics, Information Systems) and the One Year MBA run more competitive review because of cohort caps, especially for international applicants who hit the March priority round. MPH at Colorado School of Public Health and MS Nursing at Anschutz screen tightly on GPA, LORs, and, for Nursing, the RN licence, so applicants with sub-3.0 GPAs should overbuild the rest of the file. See the CU Denver ranking band for the wider selectivity signal.

What Indian Applicants Should Read from the 75 Percent Figure

A high headline rate does not mean automatic entry — Indian applicants still fail on unmet English floors, incomplete transcripts, and missing WES or ECE evaluations far more often than on GPA. File a complete application well before the priority deadline to hit the strongest scholarship review at the same time.

Insider note: The 75 percent figure is the university-wide undergraduate-heavy admit rate; graduate cohorts in Business, Public Health, and Nursing routinely admit at 30 to 50 percent depending on year and programme.

USA Student Visa for University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus Applicants

Indian students admitted to CU Denver enter the US on an F-1 student visa, issued through the US consular network after CU Denver’s International Student and Scholar Services issues the Form I-20. Once you accept your offer and submit the required financial documents, ISSS generates the I-20 within roughly 10 business days. You then pay the SEVIS I-901 fee (USD 350, around INR 33,429), complete the DS-160 online non-immigrant visa form, pay the visa fee (USD 185, around INR 17,669), and book an appointment at your nearest US Embassy or Consulate in India — Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, or Hyderabad.

Financial proof for the I-20 must cover one full academic year of estimated tuition and living costs, typically shown via a bank balance certificate, a fixed-deposit statement, or an approved education loan letter. Bring your I-20, admission letter, DS-160 confirmation, SEVIS receipt, passport, financial documents, and academic records to the visa interview. Post-arrival, complete your CU Denver ISSS check-in within 30 days and register for classes to activate SEVIS.

2026 update: Indian F-1 applicants should book visa slots as soon as the I-20 arrives — Delhi and Mumbai routinely see multi-month waits during May to July, the peak Fall-intake window.

University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus Application Tips and Checklist

The following tips and steps are drawn from Indian-applicant patterns at CU Denver — where the file was strong, and where it slipped. Use them as a working timeline sitting alongside your programme’s own instructions and student reviews and outcomes.

  • Trigger the ECE or WES evaluation first: it takes the longest and can drag your file into the final round if you order it late. Selecting WES also waives the USD 75 application fee.
  • Read the Business School’s 8-week term structure before choosing MS Business Analytics or MS Information Systems — the pace is faster than a standard US semester and CPT planning has to fit that rhythm.
  • MPH applicants must file via SOPHAS, not the CU Denver Slate portal — the SOPHAS application fee of USD 150 (around INR 14,327) covers the first programme.
  • Request Indian transcripts 8 weeks before your deadline so university offices have time to release, translate where needed, and ship to WES or ECE.
  • Book IELTS or TOEFL 4 to 5 months out to allow one retake — programmes with an IELTS 6.5 floor rarely accept sub-band scores below 5.5.
  • Aim the Spring 2027 file at the priority deadline of September 15, 2026, not the October 15, 2026 final — priority applicants get first look at scholarships and are decided quicker.
  • Draft two LORs by mid-2026 and confirm your recommenders will file through the Slate email link when your file is ready.
  • Line up your SEVIS I-901 payment and DS-160 the day your I-20 arrives so visa-appointment slots don’t push into July.

University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus is a genuine two-lane admission — an accessible public research base at 75 percent institutional admit, with sharply selective cohorts at Business School, Nursing, and MPH. Indian applicants who file complete WES-evaluated files at the priority round, hit IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 79, and route through the correct portal (Common Application for UG, Slate for graduate, SOPHAS for MPH) sit inside the strongest admit-and-scholarship window.

University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus Admissions: Frequently Asked Questions

Ques. Does CU Denver accept a three-year Indian bachelor’s degree for graduate admission?

Ans. Yes, in most cases. ECE or WES must evaluate the degree as US bachelor’s equivalent; some Business School master’s programs still prefer four-year degrees, and Anschutz medical-side programs require the WES ICAP course-by-course review.

Ques. What is the application fee for Indian applicants at CU Denver?

Ans. The application fee is USD 75 (around INR 7,163) for international applicants at both undergraduate and graduate level. It is waived automatically if you select ECE or WES external credential evaluation, and waived for applicants routed through approved recruitment agencies. Executive MBA carries no application fee.

Ques. Do Indian applicants get an English test waiver at CU Denver?

Ans. No blanket waiver applies to Indian citizens. CU Denver waives English testing only for citizens of Australia, Canada, Ireland, Jamaica, Malta, New Zealand, Trinidad and Tobago, and the UK, or for applicants who completed a prior degree in one of those countries. India-medium instruction alone does not qualify.

Ques. What is the primary intake for Indian applicants?

Ans. Fall (August start) is the primary intake — every graduate programme, all PhD tracks, the One Year MBA, and undergraduate admissions open here. Spring (January) is available for Business School master’s, most undergraduate programmes, and select MS tracks; Summer is smaller.

Ques. Is GRE or GMAT required at CU Denver?

Ans. Most programmes have moved to test-optional. MS Business Analytics, MS Information Systems, MS Computer Science, MPH, and the Executive MBA do not require GRE or GMAT. Applicants below the GPA floor (3.30 for Business, 3.0 for most others) may be asked to submit scores to demonstrate quantitative competency.

Ques. What are the exact English score minimums Indian applicants need?

Ans. Institution-wide graduate minimums are IELTS Academic 6.5 (all bands 5.5), TOEFL iBT 79 (Reading 8, Listening 7, Speaking 18, Writing 16), PTE Academic 58, and Duolingo 105. Programmes such as the One Year MBA require higher — TOEFL iBT 95.

Ques. Does CU Denver accept the Common Application?

Ans. Yes, for undergraduate first-year and transfer applicants. Graduate applicants file through CU Denver’s own Slate portal, MPH applicants file through SOPHAS, and Executive MBA candidates file through a dedicated Business School form.

Ques. How competitive is CU Denver for Indian applicants?

Ans. The 75 percent institutional acceptance rate makes admission accessible to well-prepared Indian applicants meeting the GPA and English floors. Graduate cohorts in Business, Nursing, and MPH admit more selectively — expect 30 to 50 percent for those programmes.

Ques. When should Indian applicants file for Fall 2027 admission?

Ans. File the Business School priority round by March 15, 2027, and Nursing or MPH by the January 15, 2027 priority. Undergraduate applicants should submit by March 2027 even though the final CU Denver deadline is July 15, 2027, so I-20 processing and F-1 visa slotting fit before the August 16, 2027 semester start.

Ques. Which credential evaluator does CU Denver require for Indian degrees?

Ans. Downtown CU Denver graduate programmes accept ECE or WES course-by-course evaluation, or the in-house evaluation service. Every Anschutz Medical Campus programme, including MPH and Nursing, requires WES ICAP specifically. Selecting either service also waives the USD 75 application fee.

Ques. Does CU Denver offer scholarships to international undergraduates?

Ans. Yes — every admitted international first-year is automatically considered for a merit award of USD 5,000 to USD 10,000 (around INR 4.78 to 9.55 Lakhs) per year with no separate application. Graduate funding is programme-specific; check with the department for teaching or research assistantships.

Ques. What is the F-1 visa process timeline after CU Denver admission?

Ans. After accepting your offer and submitting financial proof, CU Denver’s ISSS issues the Form I-20 within about 10 business days. Pay the SEVIS I-901 fee (USD 350), complete the DS-160, pay the visa fee (USD 185), and book your interview at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, or Hyderabad. Apply as soon as the I-20 arrives — May to July slots fill fast.

Overview

I got in-state tuition, which was the biggest factor in my choice. They have a really good program for nursing students, which is my ultimate goal as a student. It was also close to home, but still far enough away for me to have a new experience.

Scholarship

I received a scholarship of $750 a year for all 4 years, for a total of $3,000. There was not a process for this, as it was granted to me automatically for my grades in high school.
