University of Colorado Denver fees for Indian students range from $34,332 (INR 32.75 Lakhs) per year for undergraduate programs to $48,761 (INR 46.52 Lakhs) per year for MS Computer Science and other engineering masters, based on the university’s official 2026-27 international non-resident rates. The most popular graduate programs for Indian applicants are MS Computer Science, MS Business Analytics, and MS Electrical Engineering at the College of Engineering, Design & Computing, and MPH Public Health at the Anschutz Medical Campus.
The realistic entry point right now is the Spring 2027 intake, which starts mid-January 2027. Freshman and most graduate international applications close on 1 October 2026, so this cycle is deadline-pressured. Fall 2027 is the next window and opens for applications after Spring 2027 closes.
A full two-year MS at the College of Engineering, Design & Computing runs to approximately $97,522 (INR 93.04 Lakhs) including tuition, fees, living, health insurance and books. A three-year bachelor's degree totals around INR 95.70 Lakhs before scholarships.
Exchange rate used: 1 USD = INR 95.40 as of August 2026.
Spring 2027 Intake: Application Window Closing 1 October 2026
Intake: Spring 2027 (mid-January 2027 start) is the only viable intake for new applicants from India, as Fall 2026 has already began and F-1 visa processing needs 3 to 8 weeks. Fall 2027 opens after Spring closes; the deadline for that intake is typically 1 February 2027.
Fee update: Spring 2027 is billed at the 2026-27 rate. Undergraduate international non-resident tuition is $1,307/credit hour (INR 1,24,688) at the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences and $1,357/credit hour (INR 1,29,458) at Business and Engineering. Graduate tuition at the College of Engineering, Design & Computing is $1,660/credit hour (INR 1,58,364).
When to pay: The enrolment confirmation deposit is due within 2 weeks of accepting the offer, and the I-20 is issued only after it clears. Full first-semester tuition is billed at course registration in December 2026; instalment milestones are covered in the Tuition Deposit and Payment Options section.
Scholarships: The Automatic International Merit Scholarship is applied at admission with no form. Among Indian external awards, KC Mahindra, Inlaks Shivdasani, and JN Tata Endowment cycles for Fall 2027 open between December 2026 and February 2027; none of them align with Spring 2027 start dates.

Tuition at CU Denver is charged per credit hour and varies by college. International non-resident rates are the same across the Denver and Anschutz campuses at the school level, but the total course cost differs because credit-hour requirements differ. The figures below are the 2026-27 rates applied to Spring 2027 and Fall 2026 registrations.
Full-time international undergraduates enrol in 12 credit hours per semester, or 24 credits across the academic year. Tuition, mandatory fees, and health insurance are billed together.
| Programme | Per Credit Hour (USD) | Annual Tuition & Fees (USD) | Annual Tuition & Fees (INR) |
|---|---|---|---|
| BA Liberal Arts & Sciences | $1,307 | $33,439 | INR 31.90 Lakhs |
| BS Business Administration | $1,357 | $34,742 | INR 33.14 Lakhs |
| BS Computer Science (Engineering) | $1,357 | $35,649 | INR 34.01 Lakhs |
| BA Arts & Media (Film, Music, Design) | $1,307 | $33,439 | INR 31.90 Lakhs |
| BS Public Health (Anschutz undergraduate) | $1,307 | $33,439 | INR 31.90 Lakhs |
Most masters programmes require 30 to 36 credit hours in total, delivered over 3 to 4 semesters. Full-time graduate students carry 6 credit hours per semester at minimum for F-1 visa status, though 9 credits per semester is the typical MS load.
| Programme | Per Credit Hour (USD) | Annual Cost of Attendance (USD) | Annual Cost of Attendance (INR) |
|---|---|---|---|
| MS Computer Science | $1,660 | $48,761 | INR 46.52 Lakhs |

| Master of Public Administration | $1,534 | $46,933 | INR 44.77 Lakhs |
| Master of Architecture (3-year) | Varies | $85,275 | INR 81.35 Lakhs |
| One-Year MBA (12-month) | $1,685 | $95,070 | INR 90.70 Lakhs |
Note: The Cost of Attendance figure for graduate programmes is not tuition alone; it includes tuition, mandatory fees, living expenses, health insurance, and books. Tuition-only for a full 30-credit MS at the College of Engineering, Design & Computing works out to $49,800 (INR 47.51 Lakhs) across the programme, so a 2-year MS pays out most tuition in the first year for students taking heavier course loads.

Key Insight: Spring 2027 is billed at the 2026-27 rate you see today. Starting Fall 2027 pushes the same MS on to the 2027-28 rate, which historically adds another 2.8% to 3.0%, roughly INR 1.4 Lakhs more per year for MS Computer Science. If your funding is tight, Spring 2027 locks the lower rate for your first two semesters.
CU Denver publishes an official 9-month cost-of-living estimate of $20,898 (INR 19.94 Lakhs) for graduate students and $20,380 to $21,726 (INR 19.44 Lakhs to INR 20.73 Lakhs) for undergraduates. Denver is cheaper than San Francisco or Boston but more expensive than Midwest college towns; a graduate student can live comfortably on around $2,300 per month sharing a two-bedroom apartment near the Auraria Campus or the Anschutz Medical Campus.

Note: The mandatory F-1 and J-1 student health insurance at CU Denver is $2,633/year (INR 2.51 Lakhs), billed automatically with tuition. This is separate from the living-expense table above and cannot be waived unless you carry an approved US-based employer plan.
Currency Tip: Your first tuition instalment for Spring 2027 falls due within a week of registration in December 2026. Send this transfer through the CU Denver Flywire portal instead of a raw SWIFT wire, it saves the typical 2 to 3% intermediary bank fee and the exchange rate is locked when you initiate. Split the transfer into 2 or 3 tranches during any rupee-dollar dips through late 2026 to protect against a weakening rupee before Fall 2027.
Living costs in Denver are anchored by rent. A shared apartment in Aurora, near the Anschutz Medical Campus, or in the Auraria neighbourhood next to the CU Denver downtown campus, runs at around $500 to $600 per person per month, which is why the university’s 9-month figure of $20,898 stays realistic for students who split housing. Living alone in a studio downtown will push the monthly budget past $2,900.
The total first-year budget for an Indian student is $70,000 to $73,000 (INR 66.78 Lakhs to INR 69.64 Lakhs) for graduate programmes and $60,000 to $65,000 (INR 57.24 Lakhs to INR 62.01 Lakhs) for undergraduate programmes, before scholarships. Both totals include tuition, fees, health insurance, living, and Year 1 F-1 visa and travel costs.

Health insurance $2,633 (INR 2.51 Lakhs) and F-1 visa combined SEVIS I-901 plus MRV fee $535 (INR 51,039) are included. Return flight Mumbai-Denver approximated at $1,500 (INR 1.43 Lakhs).
Across the full programme, a 2-year MS at the College of Engineering, Design & Computing runs to about INR 93.04 Lakhs (INR 0.93 Crore), and a 3-year Bachelors totals roughly INR 1.75 Crore including the second and third years of living. Financed with a INR 90 Lakh education loan at 10.5% over 10 years, the EMI works out to approximately INR 1,21,000 per month.
Key Insight: The controllable saving for a Spring 2027 admit is the Automatic International Merit Scholarship of up to $10,000/year (INR 9.54 Lakhs), applied automatically at admission for undergraduates with GPA 3.7 or above. On a 4-year Bachelors that is INR 38.16 Lakhs off the total, reducing your net programme cost by roughly 22% before you touch any external Indian scholarship. Confirm your GPA conversion with the CU Denver admissions office before accepting your offer.

Tip for Indian Students: For a Spring 2027 start, apply to CU Denver first and lock the Automatic International Merit Scholarship, no separate form is needed. Then, in the same window as your admission decision, email your programme director asking about departmental teaching assistantships for the Fall 2027 semester; TAs decisions for Fall are made between March and May 2027. This two-step sequence secures both the institutional discount and a possible tuition-remission role before the semester begins.

After you accept your CU Denver offer, an enrolment confirmation deposit secures your seat and triggers the I-20 (the Form I-20 is the certificate of eligibility for F-1 student visa issuance) that you need to book a US embassy visa appointment. The deposit is generally between $200 and $500 (INR 19,080 to INR 47,700) depending on programme and counts toward your first-semester tuition.
Tip for Indian Students: For a Spring 2027 start, initiate your enrolment deposit no later than 3 weeks before the visa interview slot you want. Indian bank international wires post to Flywire in 2 to 3 working days, and CU Denver issues the I-20 only after the deposit clears, so the deposit is your true gating step, not the offer letter itself.
The Spring 2027 visa file must include a US $535 government-fee bundle (SEVIS I-901 plus DS-160 MRV) paid before your embassy interview, and this is charged outside your tuition. Budget the items below on top of the tuition and living figures already listed.
Budget approximately INR 6 Lakhs to INR 7.5 Lakhs for first-year hidden costs on top of tuition, living, and health insurance.
Note: The line item Indian families most often forget is the F-1 student health insurance of $2,633/year (INR 2.51 Lakhs), which CU Denver auto-adds to your student account each semester. Waivers are only granted for approved US-based employer plans and never for Indian family or travel policies, so treat this as mandatory when planning your loan sanction.

Below are the other saving strategies Indian students most commonly use at CU Denver.
Tip for Indian Students: For a Fall 2027 MS start, the single highest-value lever is securing a Graduate Teaching Assistantship in your department; a typical TA role at CU Denver comes with a stipend plus tuition remission, saving upwards of INR 25 Lakhs over a 2-year MS. Reach out to the department chair by email within a week of accepting your offer, TA slots for the incoming cohort are filled by end of May 2027.

Course Curriculum is good but some of the courses does not have in depth concepts.
5400 USD per subject ( 3 credits) You have to complete 30 credits to graduate.
The course curriculum is moderate. Depending on the course and which professor, the courses range from too easy to reasonably challenging. Some courses cover good content while others have felt rather useless.
The structure of the fees is somewhat ridiculous. We are required to pay fees for certain things that are unnecessary such as a sports facility and bus passes, even if you don't use these amenities.
