Awards range from automatic merit grants worth USD 2,500 per year to fully funded Fulbright-Nehru packages covering tuition, living and airfare. Most institutional scholarships are auto-considered at admission, so no separate application is required for a first pass at funding.

The ESL Academy Scholarship is stackable for students who finish the on-campus English language track before starting their degree. Sponsored students on government or embassy funding are ineligible for the auto-merit ladder.

University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus Scholarships for PG / Master’s Students

Master’s funding is thinner than undergraduate funding at CU Denver. Auto-merit awards exist for masters, but engineering and computer science tracks enforce a higher GPA floor of 3.75.

A masters applicant to MS Computer Science with a 3.9 GPA can pair the auto-merit USD 10,000 grant with an on-campus assistantship. That combination brings first-year non-resident tuition down by roughly USD 15,000 to USD 20,000 (INR 14.39 Lakhs to INR 19.18 Lakhs).

Reddit Insight: Indian admits into MS Business Analytics and MS Computer Science tracks report the auto-scholarship arriving inside the admission letter, not as a separate email. Applicants who miss the May 15 international deadline lose eligibility for both program aid and the Business School pool.

JN Tata Endowment and K.C. Mahindra are smaller in absolute value but soft loans, so they preserve institutional aid. The Aga Khan grant plus loan structure is available to Indian applicants and its 5% interest loan half is repayable over five years.

University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus PhD Scholarships

Doctoral funding at CU Anschutz is materially stronger than master’s funding at CU Denver. Most PhD admits at Anschutz biomedical programs receive a full tuition waiver plus a stipend for the first several years.

Teaching FellowshipMathematical and Statistical Sciences (doctoral)USD 18,000 to USD 19,000 (INR 17.26 Lakhs to INR 18.22 Lakhs)Full tuition

Colorado SPH Doctoral FundingPhD, DrPH in Public HealthGraduate Assistantship stipend, program-specificIncluded via GA/RA/TA appointment

The Teaching Fellowship in the Mathematical and Statistical Sciences department is the clearest published doctoral package. It supports up to 5 years of departmental support at USD 18,000 to USD 19,000 per year plus full tuition remission.

Reddit Insight: Indian PhD applicants routinely secure funding by contacting faculty with active grant funding before applying. Biomedical labs, public health and biostatistics tracks convert cold outreach into offers most consistently. Cold applications without a named advisor rarely convert to a funded offer at the PhD level.

External Government Scholarships for University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus

Employees of the Government of India, central services and state services are not eligible. Placement into CU Denver via the Fulbright route is on a preferred-institution basis, not a guaranteed slot. USIEF matches candidates to programs after the fellowship is granted.

University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus Scholarships: Frequently Asked Questions

Ques. What is the maximum scholarship stack an Indian student can secure at CU Denver | Anschutz?

Ans. An Indian undergraduate with 3.75+ converted GPA locks USD 10,000 per year (INR 9.59 Lakhs) via the Tier 1 auto-merit award. Renewal for 4 years totals USD 40,000 (INR 38.36 Lakhs). Layering an Inlaks Shivdasani grant of up to USD 100,000 (INR 95.90 Lakhs) can push total funding past USD 140,000 (INR 134.26 Lakhs). At the graduate level, a funded PhD offer at Anschutz covers full tuition plus a stipend of USD 18,000 to USD 19,000 per year. That equates to INR 17.26 Lakhs to INR 18.22 Lakhs annually, renewable up to 5 years.

Ques. When should Indian applicants apply to be eligible for CU Denver scholarships?

Ans. Institutional merit awards are auto-considered at the point of admission, so the effective deadline is the international application deadline for the intended term. For Fall 2027 international graduate admissions, the Business School deadline is tentatively May 15, 2027. Colorado School of Public Health central-application scholarships close tentatively on February 1, 2027. External India-only routes cluster around March 2027, with Inlaks tentatively closing March 31, 2027.

Ques. Do Indian applicants need to submit a separate scholarship application at CU Denver?

Ans. No separate form is needed for the core auto-merit ladder. International Admissions converts the applicant’s transcript to a US 4.0 GPA and awards the matching tier inside the admission letter itself. Colorado School of Public Health scholarships, external India trusts and Fulbright-Nehru all require a separate application with essays, references and financial documents.

Ques. What is the minimum GPA to qualify for scholarships at CU Denver | Anschutz?

Ans. Undergraduate international awards start at a converted GPA of 2.85 for the USD 2,500 (INR 2.40 Lakhs) tier. The full USD 10,000 (INR 9.59 Lakhs) award needs 3.75+. Non-engineering masters awards start at GPA 3.0. Engineering and Computer Science graduate awards require 3.75+ minimum. PhD funded offers at Anschutz typically favour Indian applicants with 8.5+ CGPA on the Indian 10-point scale plus strong research output.

Ques. How does the Fulbright-Nehru Master’s Fellowship work for CU Denver applicants?

Ans. The Fulbright-Nehru Master’s is a fully funded fellowship covering tuition, monthly living stipend, one round-trip economy airfare, J-1 visa support and health cover. Indian applicants need a completed bachelor’s with 55%+ marks and 3 years of paid full-time work experience in the field. USIEF matches the awardee to a host US institution after selection, so CU Denver is a possible placement rather than a guaranteed one. The 2027-28 cycle deadline is tentatively May 15, 2027.

Wonderful experience with in depth learning in our concentration. Exposure to different kind of people. Getting to know how the things are going outside our world. In simple it will be a global exposure as we will be seeing different kinds of people from all over the world. It will be some difficult in the initial days but the things will get better when the days are passing. You will learn a lot.

Scholarship

I received a scholarship of $750 a year for all 4 years, for a total of $3,000. There was not a process for this, as it was granted to me automatically for my grades in high school.

I got in-state tuition, which was the biggest factor in my choice. They have a really good program for nursing students, which is my ultimate goal as a student. It was also close to home, but still far enough away for me to have a new experience.
