Conestoga College Application Deadlines for Indian Students

Conestoga runs three intakes each academic year, with Fall (September) as the primary intake carrying the widest program list. Winter (January) and Spring (May) run smaller cohorts, and applications flow through the OCAS International applicant portal on a rolling basis until each program’s seats fill. Conestoga does not run fixed rounds. Once your OCAS International application is complete and the CAD 100 (₹ 6,941) fee is paid, it enters a first-come, first-served queue. High-demand graduate certificates such as Global Business Management and Project Management routinely close months before the term start date, so build a buffer of six to eight weeks for the study permit review.

Note: The Student Direct Stream (SDS) closed in November 2024, so Indian applicants now use the standard study permit stream, which takes longer. File your Conestoga application at least five months before your intended term start to keep the visa window realistic.

Conestoga College Eligibility for Indian Students

Conestoga sets separate academic floors for each program level, and every international offer is conditional on meeting both the academic and the English proficiency thresholds. The values below are institution-wide minimums for Indian applicants, drawn from the official admission requirements page. Program-specific prerequisites (Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, or work experience) apply on top.

Academic Eligibility by Level

• Diploma / Advanced Diploma: Class XII (CBSE, ICSE, or State Board) with at least 60 percent and any program-specific subjects such as Mathematics or Science.
• Bachelor’s Degree: Class XII with at least 65 percent, including required subjects for the chosen major (Mathematics for Computer Science, Accounting or Business for BBA).
• Graduate Certificate (PG): a completed three or four-year Bachelor’s degree from a recognised Indian university, typically at 55 percent or higher, with relevant discipline for technical certificates.

Minimum English Proficiency by Level

Regulated diplomas such as Practical Nursing, Journalism, and Pharmacy Technician require degree-level English scores (IELTS 6.5, no band below 6.0). The Pharmacy Technician program does not accept Duolingo. Conestoga does not publish a country-specific medium-of-instruction (MOI) waiver, so all Indian applicants must submit an accepted English test score. Applicants below the direct-entry cut-off can join the General Arts and Science: English Language Studies pathway and step up to their target program after the required level.

Conestoga College Postgraduate Programs and English Scores

Conestoga’s postgraduate offerings for Indian applicants are almost entirely graduate certificates, which run one or two years and are structured around a Bachelor’s degree plus applied specialisation. Two-term base tuition for graduate certificates is CAD 16,809 (₹ 11.67 Lakhs) for the 2026-27 academic year. 

Most one-year certificates can be extended to two-year "advanced" versions that add a co-op work term, which meaningfully improves the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) eligibility outcome. Indian applicants consistently choose Global Business Management as the two-year option to bank the extra PGWP months.

Conestoga UG Programs and Diplomas for Indian Students

Undergraduate options at Conestoga split into applied bachelor’s degrees, advanced diplomas (three years), and two-year diplomas. Two-term base tuition is CAD 16,933 (₹ 11.76 Lakhs) for degrees and CAD 15,477 (₹ 10.74 Lakhs) for diplomas. Degrees carry a fixed academic sequence, while diplomas often include integrated co-op terms that count toward PGWP.

Advanced diplomas are typically the more competitive undergraduate route for Indian applicants because the three-year duration secures a longer Post-Graduation Work Permit than two-year diplomas. Bachelor’s degrees are direct entry from Class XII; Conestoga does not offer bridging pathways from Indian diplomas into its degrees.

Conestoga College Application Process

Conestoga does not accept applications directly on its own website. Every international application from India goes through the OCAS International applicant portal, a service operated by the Ontario College Application Service specifically for international candidates. The steps below are the standard sequence.

1. Create your account on the OCAS International portal and select Conestoga as your target college. Add up to five program choices per application cycle.
2. Complete the personal, academic, and program-preference sections. Add your English test score reference and any relevant work experience.
3. Upload supporting documentation: Class X and XII marksheets, Bachelor’s transcript and degree certificate (for PG applicants), passport bio page, and English test score report.
4. Pay the application fee of CAD 100 (₹ 6,941) through Flywire on the OCAS International portal before submission.
5. Submit the application. OCAS forwards it to Conestoga’s International Admissions team for review.
6. Wait for the Letter of Acceptance (LOA). On receipt, pay the non-refundable tuition deposit of CAD 2,500 (₹ 1.74 Lakhs) to confirm your seat.
7. Use the confirmed LOA to apply for a Canadian study permit through IRCC.

The Flywire payment step is often where Indian applicants lose a few days — the platform accepts NEFT, RTGS, and select international cards, but bank clearances can take 48 to 72 hours to reflect in the OCAS system. Do not wait until the last week of a deadline window.

Conestoga Admission Decisions Timeline

Conestoga does not publish a fixed turnaround time, but the College states that completed applications with fully paid fees are processed in a timely manner. Indian applicants typically report the following pattern for the 2026-27 cycle.

• Initial acknowledgement: within 3 to 7 working days of OCAS forwarding your application.
• Conditional or full LOA: commonly 4 to 8 weeks from a complete file, faster for early-cycle Fall applications, slower for programs at or near capacity.
• Deposit deadline: the LOA specifies a payment-by date, usually 30 days from issue.
• Study permit filing window: once the CAD 2,500 (₹ 1.74 Lakhs) deposit is paid and receipted, IRCC processing generally runs 8 to 12 weeks under the standard stream (SDS closed in November 2024).
• Deferrals: Conestoga permits one deferral to the next available intake without a fresh application fee, provided the request reaches International Admissions before the term start date.

Offers are conditional until final Class XII or Bachelor’s transcripts, passport-verified identity, and study permit approval are all on file. Missing any single piece delays enrolment past the term add-course deadline (16 September 2026 for Fall 2026, 19 January 2027 for Winter 2027).

Conestoga College Documents Required

The document set below is the minimum required for an Indian applicant to be considered complete on OCAS. Missing items push you to the back of the rolling queue, and by mid-cycle the queue is measured in weeks, not days.

• Passport: clear scan of the biographical page, valid for at least the length of the study program plus six months.
• Class X and Class XII marksheets and passing certificates from CBSE, ICSE, or the relevant state board.

Insider note: Conestoga does not require Letters of Recommendation for most programs, unlike Canadian universities. Focus your energy on a sharp SOP and clean transcripts instead — those are the two documents International Admissions weighs first.

Conestoga Acceptance Rate for Indian Students

Conestoga College does not publish an official institutional acceptance rate. Third-party estimates place the overall rate at around 85 percent, based on the College’s open-access nature for programs with available seats and its rolling admission model. Treat the figure as directional, not a headline metric - actual selectivity varies sharply by program.

Programs with High Selectivity

Practical Nursing, Health Information Management, Software Engineering Technology, and the flagship Global Business Management graduate certificate all run well over capacity for Fall intake. For these, functional selectivity in a peak cycle can drop to 30 to 40 percent for international applicants after seats fill through OCAS.

Reality check: A high headline acceptance rate does not mean an easy path to a seat in your chosen program. The rolling model rewards early, complete applications - a late file to a popular certificate meets a "seats full" response, not a decision letter.

Canada Student Visa Process for Conestoga College

Every Indian applicant needs a Canadian study permit before travel. With the Student Direct Stream (SDS) closed since November 2024, applications now flow through the standard study permit stream operated by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Processing timelines have lengthened as a result, so budget 8 to 12 weeks minimum from filing to decision.

Apply online through the IRCC secure portal once you hold a Conestoga Letter of Acceptance and have paid the CAD 2,500 (₹ 1.74 Lakhs) tuition deposit. You will need biometrics (booked at a VFS Global centre in India) and a medical exam from a panel physician. Financial proof is a hard requirement: as of 1 September 2025, single applicants outside Quebec must show at least CAD 22,895 (₹ 15.89 Lakhs) in available living funds for the first 12 months, in addition to tuition.

A Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) from a participating Canadian bank remains the most credible proof format, though education loan sanction letters and four months of bank statements are also accepted.

2026 update: IRCC has tightened Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) requirements for most study permit applications. Ontario’s PAL is issued alongside the Conestoga LOA under the province’s allocation, so verify your LOA carries the PAL reference before filing your permit.
