Conestoga College follows a rolling admissions cycle for international applicants across three annual intakes; the primary intake for Indian students is September (Fall), with January (Winter) as a strong secondary option for graduate certificates.
| Milestone | Date | Notes for Indian Applicants |
|---|---|---|
| Winter 2027 application close (rolling) | Expected October 2026 (based on prior cycle) | Popular IT and Business programmes fill first; apply as soon as OCAS opens. |
| Fall 2027 applications open | Expected October 2026 (based on prior cycle) | Apply through OCAS with the CAD 100 non-refundable fee. |
| Fall 2027 recommended close | Expected February 2027 (based on prior cycle) | Programmes remain open on a rolling basis until seats fill. |
| Tuition deposit deadline | Within 30 days of offer | CAD 2,500 non-refundable deposit required to secure the seat. |
| Fall 2027 programme start | Expected September 2027 | Study permit processing takes 8 to 12 weeks from biometrics. |

Planning note: Rolling admissions mean early applicants have a clear advantage; targeting the OCAS system within the first four weeks of opening improves the odds for capped IT, health and animation streams.

Conestoga College Admission Requirements for Indian Applicants 2027
Indian applicants must meet the credential-level academic threshold and a mandatory English proficiency standard, all published on Conestoga College’s international admissions page.
Postgraduate (Graduate Certificate and Degree)
- Academic: Bachelor’s degree with 55% or CGPA 5.5/10 (recommended); specific programmes may set higher cut-offs
- English: IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0), TOEFL iBT 88 (no skill below 22), TOEFL 5 on the new 1-6 scale (effective January 2026), PTE Academic 58, Duolingo 120
- Documents: WES credential evaluation recommended; transcripts, passport copy, statement of purpose and programme-specific portfolio or resume
Undergraduate (Diploma, Advanced Diploma and Degree)
- Academic: Class 12 pass with 60% to 70% depending on programme; STEM and Nursing streams require subject-specific marks in Maths, Physics or Biology
- English: IELTS 6.0 (no band below 5.5), TOEFL iBT 80 (no skill below 20), TOEFL 4.5 on the new 1-6 scale (effective January 2026), PTE Academic 53, Duolingo 110
Key insight: Programmes such as Advertising, Journalism, Nursing and Pharmacy Technician are assessed at degree-level English thresholds even when the credential is a diploma; Duolingo is not accepted for Pharmacy Technician.
Conestoga College Acceptance Rate 2027
Conestoga College does not publish an official acceptance figure. Based on programme-wise seat data and Ontario college trends, the working estimate for Indian applicants sits at 85% (estimated), though popular graduate certificate streams cap earlier and drop closer to the 60% to 70% band as intake windows close.
The high headline rate reflects the polytechnic’s open-access model across most diploma programmes. Capped and quota programmes such as Practical Nursing, Pharmacy Technician and IT Network Security move to a competitive-review basis once applications exceed seat availability.
Reality check: Indian applicants meeting the recommended academic and English thresholds still face effective selectivity in capped programmes; treat the 85% figure as a general baseline, not a guarantee for competitive streams.

Conestoga College Campus, Facilities and Student Life
The Kitchener-Doon campus is the flagship location; the college also operates campuses in Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, Brantford, Milton and downtown Kitchener, each with a distinct programme focus.
- Location and transit: Doon campus sits 100 km west of Toronto; Grand River Transit routes 110 and 111 connect it to the LRT spine linking Kitchener and Waterloo
- Housing: On-campus residence available at Kitchener-Doon and Cambridge, with roughly 800 beds; international housing demand is high and campus residence is not guaranteed, so most Indian students rent off-campus in Doon, Kitchener or Cambridge
- Facilities: Applied research centres in advanced manufacturing, food processing and health simulation, plus a dedicated Institute of Food Processing Technology
- Indian community: Indian nationals make up the largest international cohort, with active cultural societies, weekend clubs and mentorship networks across the Kitchener-Waterloo region
What Indian students say: Peer feedback consistently flags Kitchener-Waterloo as calmer and cheaper than Toronto, with strong co-op access via the Toronto-Waterloo tech corridor; the main friction is off-campus housing supply in September.
Conestoga College Scholarships 2027
Conestoga College’s Student Financial Services administers over 400 awards, bursaries and scholarships worth more than CAD 4.6 million each year; international students are eligible only for merit-based awards, not need-based bursaries.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Narhari Sharma Memorial Award | Merit | CAD 1,000 (INR 0.69 lakh) | Full-time international student with academic success and leadership | Winter term; nomination by staff |

Planning note: Award values published by Conestoga College for international applicants are modest against tuition; treat scholarships as top-ups rather than primary funding, and budget for full tuition when planning the loan or savings mix.

Conestoga College Rankings 2027
As a polytechnic focused on applied education and industry-linked research, Conestoga College is not ranked by the major global research-university league tables; it does hold a Collegedunia Study Abroad position and strong Canadian-college recognition.

Key insight: Absence from QS or THE is standard for polytechnic institutes and does not affect a Conestoga graduate’s PGWP eligibility or study-permit outcomes; Canadian employers evaluate polytechnic credentials on the co-op record, not global research rank.

Conestoga College Placements and Career Outcomes 2027
Conestoga College reports consistently high employment outcomes across its co-op-linked programmes, driven by placement partnerships across the Toronto-Waterloo technology corridor and the Southern Ontario manufacturing belt.
- Employment within six months: Approximately 87% across full-time postsecondary programmes (as per Conestoga College reported KPI data)
- Average starting salary: CAD 45,000 to CAD 55,000 (INR 31.3 lakh to 38.2 lakh) for graduate certificate and degree holders; specialised IT and engineering roles report higher medians
- Sectors and recruiters: Technology and finance employers across the Toronto-Waterloo corridor, health-sector recruiters in Ontario hospitals and Kitchener-based manufacturers hire heavily; specific recruiter lists are not publicly disclosed
- Post-study work rights: Programmes of two years or more qualify graduates for a three-year Canada Post-Graduation Work Permit, a primary reason Indian PG applicants choose Conestoga’s two-year graduate certificates
- Career support: Co-op Services runs employer fairs, resume clinics and one-to-one placement counselling; co-op is embedded into most business, IT and engineering technology programmes
Insider note: Indian graduates from the two-year IT and Business Analytics streams tend to place strongly with Waterloo-area tech employers, though initial roles often start at contract or associate level before converting to full-time within 12 to 18 months.
Conestoga College vs Peer Colleges
The natural peer set for Indian applicants comparing Conestoga is other large Ontario polytechnics with strong international enrolment and co-op depth.
| College | Collegedunia Study Abroad Rank (Canada, 2026) | Avg Annual PG Fee (CAD) | Avg Annual PG Fee (INR lakh) | Differentiator |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Conestoga College | #41 | 16,809 | 11.68 lakh | Deepest co-op integration across IT and Business streams |
| Humber College | #38 (estimated) | 17,500 | 12.16 lakh | Largest Toronto-based polytechnic with GTA employer network |
| Sheridan College | #40 (estimated) | 17,200 | 11.95 lakh | Global reputation for animation and design programmes |
| George Brown College | #39 (estimated) | 17,400 | 12.09 lakh | Downtown Toronto location, hospitality and culinary strength |
| Fanshawe College | #45 (estimated) | 15,900 | 11.05 lakh | Lower living costs in London, Ontario |
Conestoga College stands out on the cost-versus-outcome axis: tuition undercuts Toronto-based peers, Kitchener-Waterloo living costs run 20% to 30% lower than the GTA, and the co-op pipeline into Waterloo’s tech cluster is materially stronger than any other Ontario polytechnic.
For Indian applicants weighing lifestyle and post-study geography, Toronto-based peers offer a bigger recruiter footprint at meaningfully higher rent, while Conestoga trades urban scale for a leaner, industry-adjacent campus experience.
Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning fits Indian PG applicants targeting a polytechnic pathway with strong applied learning, industry co-op and a three-year PGWP at a total two-year investment near INR 46 lakh against a graduate median of INR 38 lakh, and its Kitchener-Waterloo base is a live tech corridor for Indian IT and business graduates.
It is not the right fit for applicants seeking a research-heavy degree with global QS or THE recognition; those applicants should look at the University of Waterloo or the University of Toronto instead, where the academic-research pathway and international rank are the primary product.
Conestoga College FAQs
Ques. What English test waivers does Conestoga College accept for Indian applicants?
Ans. Conestoga College does not routinely waive English tests for Indian applicants, since CBSE and state-board English is not treated as first-language medium under its policy. Applicants who fall short of the IELTS or TOEFL threshold can enter through the General Arts and Science English Language Studies pathway and progress into a target diploma or graduate certificate after clearing the internal English benchmark.
Ques. Can Indian students work part-time while studying at Conestoga College?
Ans. Yes. Study permit holders enrolled full-time at Conestoga can work up to 24 hours per week off-campus during regular terms under current IRCC rules, and full-time during scheduled breaks. On-campus work has no hour cap. Co-op work terms count as authorised full-time work under the co-op work permit, which is issued alongside the study permit for eligible programmes.
Ques. How much is the Conestoga College application fee for international applicants?
Ans. The OCAS application fee for international applicants is CAD 100 (INR 0.69 lakh), payable at the time of submission and non-refundable. Once an offer is issued, students must pay a mandatory CAD 2,500 tuition deposit within 30 days to secure the seat. The deposit adjusts against the first-term tuition and is non-refundable if the study permit application is not initiated in time.
Ques. Does Conestoga College accept a three-year Indian bachelor’s degree for PG entry?
Ans. Yes. Three-year bachelor’s degrees from UGC-recognised Indian universities are accepted for graduate certificate entry at Conestoga College, provided the applicant meets the recommended 55% or CGPA 5.5/10 academic threshold. A WES credential evaluation is not mandatory but is recommended for degree-stream programmes and can strengthen borderline files during the review.
Ques. Which Indian banks offer education loans recognised at Conestoga College?
Ans. SBI, HDFC Credila, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Bank of Baroda and non-banking lenders such as Avanse, Auxilo and InCred all sanction education loans for Conestoga College programmes. A collateral-backed loan is typical above INR 20 lakh, while unsecured loans of INR 15 to 20 lakh are available from private lenders for graduate certificate applicants with strong academic and co-applicant profiles.
Ques. Can dependents accompany Indian students at Conestoga College?
Ans. Spouses of Conestoga students are eligible to apply for an open work permit only when the principal applicant is enrolled in a Conestoga degree programme, per IRCC rules effective January 2024. Graduate certificate and diploma students no longer qualify for spousal open work permits. Financial proof of roughly CAD 4,000 for the first accompanying family member is required at study-permit stage.
Ques. What documents are needed for study permit application after a Conestoga College offer?
Ans. Applicants need the Letter of Acceptance from Conestoga College, proof of the tuition deposit, the Provincial Attestation Letter issued by Ontario, a Guaranteed Investment Certificate of CAD 20,635, academic transcripts, IELTS or TOEFL scorecard, passport, statement of purpose and biometrics. Processing typically takes 8 to 12 weeks from biometric submission for Indian applicants under the Student Direct Stream.
Ques. Is Conestoga College approved for the Canada Post-Graduation Work Permit?
Ans. Yes. Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning is a Designated Learning Institution approved for PGWP. Graduates of eligible programmes of at least eight months receive a work permit matching programme length up to a three-year maximum. Public-college graduate certificates and degrees of two years or more are the standard route to a full three-year PGWP for Indian graduates.

- I like the academic structure of the college. The grades are distributed almost equally throughout the semester which makes it easier to achieve a decent grade.
Dislikes
- A concerning factor is that Conestoga offers admissions regardless of academic background and competency levels. There isn't much competition among peers.
Campus Life
- Multiple campuses with a variety of facilities. Most of the campuses were smaller however i was in the main campus. A lot of different clubs based on culture and interests.
Fees
- It was 38,000 CAD for 4 semesters.

- Education level is very good
- Strict plagiarism policies
- Professors are very cooperative
Dislikes
- Transport system is not so good
- After mid semester the assignment and quizzes makes the other half more hectic
- Whenever we have to meet any faculty or student advisor we have to book appointment for that.
Campus Life
- so while I was studying in the campus, they were a lot of major festivals, and the popular events were being organized by different college committee especially the Student committee for example of basketball and the football championship was organized by them and we had a holy celebration Diwali celebration as well as after this semester ends, we had a pub night we had a ball.
Fees
- $9000 was my fees which was a semester-wise fees and it included all miscellaneous fees , auxiliary fees , transportation charges , student card , health insurance card and many more.
- It also included the frosh kit fees around $70 which we can remove as per our choice and moreover we had e-books and physical books fees too which was included in this only.

Overview
The chose this institute because I had some financial issues and also agent mentioned to pursue Master from Ivy League school after getting PR. It's horrible.
Campus Life
Curriculars activities are good though, CSI and other student clubs are highly active in events.

Sop tie with your country that you will return after studying the course and also mention some property or bank balance for ircc satisfaction. No, I didn't had any interview round I was not having any other options at the time of application that why I choose this college but later I found that it's good college in terms of quality of education and passing exam I would tell future students who just want to pass or get an certification or credentials for just to work then go for it but other side the education is better than any other clgs here they will teach you but it depends on you to study or do work.
Campus Life
We enjoy our campus which has gaming room with high end technology and supports good players and organise tournaments and awards the best players.

- There was nothing much to like about the course It was a very basic course
- The only thing I liked about the courses, the courses were very basic and easy to graduate and hence I did not have to put a lot of effort to learn and understand
- Apart from this is the security at the campus, especially the downtown campus is very nice, so you are very in a very safe envelop
Dislikes
- Well, the course is very basic. You don’t really get to learn a lot of things if you were somebody who has already had in
Overview
I chose this course as a transition from GBM course to GHM as it would help me reduced my credits . As my credits got transferred . Since students who study GBM and move to GHM get their fees reduced to almost half
Campus Life
Well, this course is mostly offered at the downtown campus, so there are no activities no clubs nothing the whole campus is in a basement where you barely get any light and it's not worth the money you spend to actually study on this campus . The main campus does as much better than you studying on this campus

IELTS minimum 6 in each module and relatable subject to your program you wish to study or just convince them through your SOP. I choose this course for renowned name of the college and alumni connections from the institution. Been loving the journey so far more yet to come that’s just i have to say . Overall good till now
Campus Life
Put more focus on this , choose your campus wisely as except from main campus most of other don’t have the infrastructure and facilities
Overview
I had to submit sop I basically mentioned I learned everything from my mother as she is a commerce and my life teacher I had one interview where they just asked me about my background and tested my knowledge. \I chose conestoga because it had the perfect course for my interests My overall experience at Conestoga College has been positive. The teachers are knowledgeable and approachable, which has greatly enhanced my learning experience. The college itself provides good facilities and resources to support student success. However, the sense of community could be improved, as it feels somewhat lacking compared to other aspects of the college. Nonetheless, I have found my time at Conestoga College to be valuable and rewarding.

I had to submit Sop and cv. I have included my skills and my experience in my cv. Yes I had one round of sop check . I had written sop based on my experience and future plans for the degree i intend to do and want to acquire. I searched for post graduation studies for website design and development. Thats why I choose this course and this college. Its okay . The college is huge. Fun to walk around. People from different places to see . Lake to see. But very expensive and lots of assignments.

So far it's going good as I am in the main campus and have accessibility to all the facilities like gym, sports, eSports, free high wifi , library writing support, cafeteria area, cultural program and events and level of education.
Campus Life
Infrastructure and the accessibility is perfect, have everything in reach right from the public transport and cafeteria and nearby plazas.
