Founded in 1967, Sheridan College is Ontario’s leading postsecondary institution offering certificate, undergraduate and graduate degrees in Business, Applied Health, Social sciences, Arts and Applied sciences. There are more than 120 programs including 25 degree programs across 5 faculties.

The college has 23,900 full-time students, 3800 part-time students and 16,950 professional and continuing education students. The College observes an international student intake of more than 8,700 annually across 110 different countries in the world.

Some points to be kept in mind while applying to Sheridan College are listed below:

  • Students are free to apply for a maximum of three courses with one application.
  • The academic schedule is based on a term wise.
  • Students can apply for the September or January intake depending on the choice of course.
  • The College does not have fixed admission deadlines. However, international applicants are advised to apply early since for competitive programs, international students will be the last in the order of priority.

Sheridan College Admission Deadlines

Sheridan College does not have fixed deadlines for the submission of applications. For the September intake “equal consideration” date is February 1. It is suggested that applicants apply before this date. However, applications continue to be accepted beyond this date given there are seats available for the choice of program.

International students that are looking to apply for admissions at Sheridan College are required to submit essential documents and fulfill a list of eligibility criteria before securing confirmed admissions. Visa Process for International Students

International applicants who have received a letter of acceptance from Sheridan College are then required to apply for a student visa to study in Canada. If the course applied for a duration of above six months, students must obtain a study permit at a postsecondary level. A study permit is issued by the Canadian government depending on the country you are applying from.

The documents required to apply for a visa are as follows:

  • Official letter of acceptance by Sheridan College
  • Valid Passport
  • Recent Passport-sized photographs
  • Required English Proficiency Test scores
  • Proof of financial support
  • Have a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GAD) of 10,000 CAD

Student visas are processed within 90 days or sooner. With the Student Direct Stream, students from India, Philippines, Vietnam and China can receive their study permits within 20 days. Sheridan College Undergraduate Admissions

Sheridan College undergraduate programs have similar entry requirements. However, some programs in creative subject areas like Art and Design, Music, Theatre, etc. may require applicants to submit a portfolio or audition for admission. Applicants must check the eligibility requirements and application deadlines before submitting an application. Decisions regarding applications for the fall intake can be issued as early as February 1. Therefore students must ensure to submit any additional documents required, like portfolio or resume, on time in order to receive a letter of acceptance.

Once students have submitted their application along with the required documents, the college will get back to them on the registered email address and Sheridan ID number. The email will contain the admission offer and invoice for the program. Applicants must accept the offer for admission within the said due date using the ontariocolleges.ca account.

Ques. Can I apply for multiple courses at Sheridan College?

Students can apply for up to three courses at Sheridan College.

Ques. Can I apply to Sheridan College if I have not yet received my high school results?

Students will be required to provide all other documents and fill out the application form to be considered. The mark sheets must be submitted to the admission department before the stipulated deadline.
