Sheridan College Deadlines

At present, Sheridan College does not have any fixed admission deadlines for any semester. However, some of the important deadlines to be taken a note of are as mentioned below:

International Candidates

Applicants are recommended to contact the admission office to know the suitable timeline to submit their Sheridan College admission entries.

Since there are no fixed deadlines, applications can be sent throughout the year to Sheridan. Though, it is highly appreciated that international applicants submit their applications before September.

Domestic Candidates

For admission into the fall session, applications become available from the month of October and the entries are requested by February 1.

Since the admission process is highly competitive in nature, candidates are recommended to send in applications by this date for equal consideration.

Sheridan College International Admissions

International students are welcome to apply for the plethora of undergraduate and graduate level programs at Sheridan College. Aspirants can choose from more than 120 courses available across 5 faculties of Sheridan College.

Additional Admission-Related Requirements

  • Academic transcripts from all previously attended institutions.
  • Comprehensive assessment of academic credentials by either WES or ICAS Canada. Copy of evaluation must be sent directly to ontariocolleges.ca.
  • Canadian study permit and temporary resident visa.
  • English proficiency tests like TOEFL, IELTS, etc.
  • Additional Requirements: Portfolio, Resume, auditions, and others (if required).

English Proficiency Requirements

All the programs at Sheridan College are taught in the English language. Therefore, it is important that all the applicants demonstrate a certain level of English proficiency at the time of application. For this, the college accepts proficiency tests like IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, etc.

As per the college guidelines, the evidence of English language proficiency is mandatory for those applicants who belong to non-English speaking countries. The table below provides information regarding the accepted minimum ELP score requirement for different programs.

NOTE: Candidates can be exempted from meeting the language requirements if they can submit the proof of 3 years in high school where the language of instruction was English or 2 years study in English from an accredited college/university.

Sheridan College Visa Application Process

International applicants aspiring to study at Sheridan College may require a permit to study in Canada. It is not exactly a visa but it allows international students to stay in Canada for the duration of their course.

To receive the Canadian study permit and successfully enrol themselves at Sheridan College, applicants require the following documents:

  • An acceptance letter from the Canadian Institute.
  • An identity proof i.e a valid passport.
  • 2 passport size photographs.
  • Proof that the applicants can support themselves financially.
  • Letter of explanation (This will help the visa officer understand your intentions for going to Canada).

Presently, Canada is offering the Student Direct Stream to the legal citizens of a few countries (China, India, Philippines, and Vietnam). Through this, the applicants of these countries can receive their study permits within 20 days.

To be eligible for this, applicants must:

  • Provide proof of first-year tuition fee payment.
  • Have a GIC (Guaranteed Investment Certificate) of 7,600 USD.
  • Submit the report of medical exam.
  • Submit a police certificate.

Applicants should note that aspirants seeking admission in a course of 6 months or less in duration do not need a study permit. But to enrol in courses of longer duration, candidates must necessarily have a study permit and a Temporary Resident Visa or an Electronic Travel Authorization, depending upon the country-specific requirements.

Sheridan College Undergraduate Admissions

For each UG program offered by Sheridan College, the admission requirements are the same. Before beginning their applications, applicants are advised to note the complete admission process for UG programs.

Sheridan College’s full-time programs like Art and Art History, Music Theatre Performance, etc. have additional requirements like portfolio, auditions, etc.

At the graduate level, Sheridan College offers a plethora of one-year graduate certificate programs to prospective applicants.

Once the applicants have submitted their admission applications, they can track their application through the college’s myStudentCentre. Admission decisions for the applications submitted for the September term are announced as early as February 1. However, for programs that require additional documents like portfolio, auditions, resumes, etc., decisions are issued later in March.

International applicants are recommended to begin their visa process as soon as their admission is confirmed and they receive their acceptance letter.

Applicants will be informed of their admission decision via email. Furthermore, applicants must accept the admission offer before the due date specified on their ontariocolleges.ca account.
