Sheridan College admissions run on rolling review for international applicants — undergraduate diploma and degree entry expects at least Class XII with 65 percent plus IELTS 6.0, while postgraduate certificate entry needs a completed bachelor’s degree plus IELTS 6.5.

  • Fall 2027 intake (primary September intake) — offers begin 1 November 2026; portfolio and audition programs release offers from March 2027 on a rolling basis.
  • Base tuition sits between CAD 14,200 and CAD 30,600 per year (around ₹9.80 Lakhs to ₹21.12 Lakhs) with a non-refundable application fee of CAD 100 (around ₹6,901) paid on the International Application Portal.
  • UG entry needs Class XII with 65 percent or higher plus IELTS 6.0 (no band under 5.5); PG certificates need a completed bachelor’s degree plus IELTS 6.5 (no band under 6.0).
  • Institutional acceptance rate is around 65 percent, so admission is offer-of-course driven rather than test-score capped.

Applied programs at Sheridan College — Bachelor of Animation, Bachelor of Game Design and the Graduate Certificate in Marketing Management — draw the largest Indian cohorts. Indian students at Sheridan consistently rate its animation studios, portfolio-review culture and Trafalgar campus placement pipeline as the college’s real pull.

Admission Status: Open. Rolling admissions on Sheridan’s own International Application Portal. Applications for the Fall 2027 intake (September 2027) — the primary intake with the largest program list — are open now, with offers released from 1 November 2026. Winter 2027 (January 2027) and Summer 2027 (May 2027) continue on rolling review. The application fee is CAD 100 (around ₹6,901) per program choice.

Sheridan College Application Deadlines 2026-27

Sheridan College runs rolling admissions on its own International Application Portal — applications are accepted throughout the year until each program’s seats are filled. Rather than one hard cut-off, the college publishes an offer release start date per intake, and processes files as they arrive. Portfolio and audition programs (Animation, Illustration, Music Theatre) release later. Dates below are per the official international how-to-apply page.

Currency note: All INR figures in this article use CAD 1 = ₹69.01, the live rate on 28 August 2026. Live rates may vary, so confirm with your bank before remitting.

Sheridan’s primary intake for Indian students is Fall (September) — most programs open here.

Planning note: Fall 2026 (September 2026 start) is effectively closed for new international applicants because study permit processing runs 8 to 12 weeks. Applying for Winter 2027 now, or holding for Fall 2027 offers from 1 November 2026, is the realistic path.

Sheridan College Eligibility for Indian Students

Sheridan sets its academic floor per program, but Indian applicants typically need at least 65 percent in Class XII (CBSE, ICSE or a recognised state board) for diplomas and degrees, and a completed three or four year bachelor’s degree for postgraduate certificates. English proficiency is set by program level. Language scores must be dated within 24 months of the first day of classes, per Sheridan’s English proficiency requirements page.

  • UG diploma and certificate entry: Class XII with 65 percent or higher, plus program-specific subject prerequisites (Mathematics for engineering technology, Biology for health sciences).
  • UG bachelor’s degree entry: Class XII with 65 to 70 percent, with English and any required subject at 60 percent or higher.
  • Postgraduate certificate entry: A completed three-year advanced diploma or bachelor’s degree from a recognised university, in a related discipline.

Sheridan College IELTS Waiver for Indian Students

Sheridan does allow English test waivers for Indian applicants who meet its published exemption criteria on the English language page. Two waiver pathways apply to Indian schools and universities.

  • Medium of Instruction (MOI) waiver: Two or more years of full-time secondary schooling, or one or more years of postsecondary study, at an accredited institution where English was the medium of instruction. Most CBSE, ICSE and English-medium state board students qualify with a school-issued MOI letter.
  • Program-specific note: The Pharmacy Technician program (PPHTO) requires standardised proficiency testing for all applicants starting 1 July 2026, so the MOI waiver does not apply there.

Note: Program-specific entry requirements, fees, and intake availability may differ from the institution-wide minimums shown above. Always confirm on the official Sheridan College international requirements page for your chosen program before applying.

Sheridan Postgraduate Certificate Programs

Sheridan’s postgraduate offer is built around one and two year graduate certificates — short applied credentials designed for degree holders who want an industry-facing add-on. These are the college’s most popular entry point for Indian bachelor’s graduates and stack toward the PGWP work permit. Base tuition sits in the CAD 17,000 to 20,000 per year range (around ₹11.73 Lakhs to ₹13.80 Lakhs) for most graduate certificates — see the course-wise fees breakdown on the Sheridan programs listing.

Insider note: Sheridan’s Post-Graduate Certificate Bundles let you take two related one-year certificates back to back (a total of two academic years). Bundling makes you eligible for a longer PGWP work permit — a common route for Indian bachelor’s graduates targeting Canadian PR.

Note: Program-specific entry requirements, fees, and intake availability may differ from the institution-wide minimums shown above. Always confirm on the official Sheridan College how-to-apply page for your chosen program before applying.

Sheridan College UG Degrees and Diplomas

Undergraduate entry at Sheridan splits into three tracks — two and three year Ontario College Diplomas, three year Ontario College Advanced Diplomas, and four year Bachelor’s degrees. Applied Animation, Game Design and Interaction Design degrees are the college’s flagship draws for Indian students. Base tuition ranges from CAD 14,200 to CAD 30,600 per year (around ₹9.80 Lakhs to ₹21.12 Lakhs) — Animation and film-track degrees sit at the top end.

Sheridan Application Process Step by Step

International applications go through Sheridan’s own in-house International Application Portal — not through OCAS (OCAS handles domestic Ontario college applications only). This means Sheridan’s international admissions team processes files directly, which typically shortens the offer-issue time compared to OCAS-routed applications.

  1. Choose your program from the Available Programs list on the International Application Portal and confirm the seat is open for your intended intake.
  2. Review program-specific admission requirements (subject prerequisites, portfolio, GPA cut-off) on the individual program page.
  3. Create an account on the International Application Portal and complete the online form.
  4. Pay the application fee of CAD 100 (around ₹6,901) by credit card on the International Application Portal — one fee per program choice.
  5. Upload official Class XII marksheet or bachelor’s transcripts (in original language plus notarised English translation), passport photo page, English test score report and any program-specific portfolio.
  6. Track your file in the Applicant Portal, respond to any request for additional documents, and accept or decline the offer by the deadline in your offer letter.

Before you apply: Sheridan lets you apply to up to five programs in one cycle, but each choice needs its own CAD 100 fee. Rank your programs and apply only to those you would genuinely accept — the college does not stagger review order by preference.

Sheridan College Admission Decisions Timeline

Sheridan releases offers on a rolling basis after the intake’s offer release start date. Applicants who apply early sit at the front of the queue when review opens. The offer letter carries an acceptance deadline and a fee-payment deadline — miss either and the seat is released to the next candidate.

  • Fall intake first offers: from 1 November of the prior year for most programs.
  • Portfolio and audition programs: offers from March of the intake year, after portfolio reviews conclude.
  • Winter and Summer intakes: offers issued rolling from roughly two to three months before the intake starts.
  • Offer acceptance window: Typically two to three weeks from the offer date — check your specific letter, as it varies by program.
  • Deferral: Offer deferrals are considered case-by-case; a written request with reason must be submitted before the acceptance deadline.

Insider note: After you accept, Sheridan asks for a CAD 2,000 non-refundable tuition deposit (around ₹1.38 Lakhs) to issue your Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL). No PAL, no study permit application — plan this cash-out before your visa timeline starts.

Sheridan Documents Required for Indian Applicants

Sheridan’s document list is standard for a Canadian public college — the college’s own portal accepts uploads directly, so no physical dispatch is needed at application stage. Original documents may be requested later for enrolment verification.

  • Passport bio-data page (valid for the full duration of study plus six months).
  • Class XII marksheet and school-leaving certificate for UG applicants, plus Class X marksheet.
  • Bachelor’s degree transcripts and consolidated marksheet for PG certificate applicants.
  • Notarised English translation of any document not in English.
  • English proficiency test score report (IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Duolingo or CAEL) — or an MOI letter from your school if claiming the waiver.
  • Statement of Purpose (SOP) — one page, program-focused.
  • Resume or CV, especially for PG certificates in Project Management, Marketing or Business.
  • Portfolio or audition tape for Animation, Illustration, Interaction Design and Music Theatre programs.
  • Passport-size photograph in the specified digital format.
  • Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) — issued by Sheridan after your CAD 2,000 deposit, required for the study permit stage.

Sheridan College Acceptance Rate

Sheridan’s institutional acceptance rate sits at roughly 65 percent, based on published third-party estimates — the college does not publish an official institutional figure. This puts admission in the "moderately selective" band, meaning most Indian applicants who meet the published Class XII percentage and English score floor are admitted, provided seats remain in the chosen program.

What Actually Drives a Sheridan Offer

Meeting the minimum eligibility does not guarantee an offer at Sheridan — the real gatekeeper is seat availability by intake. Animation, Game Design and Interaction Design fill months before the offer window closes, and portfolio quality decides the marginal offers. Business and Marketing graduate certificates are the easier admits.

Sheridan Ranking Context for Indian Applicants

Sheridan is a public Ontario college, not a research university, so QS or Times Higher Education global rankings do not apply. Its reputation runs through subject-specific standing — the Animation program is regularly cited among the top in North America. Check the Sheridan ranking band for current subject-level context.

Canada Student Visa for Sheridan Applicants

Sheridan is a Designated Learning Institution (DLI), which is the baseline requirement for a Canadian study permit. Indian applicants apply to IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) online after receiving Sheridan’s Letter of Acceptance (LOA) and the Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) issued by the college once the CAD 2,000 tuition deposit is paid.

Processing runs 8 to 12 weeks from India for a standard file, longer during peak intake months. Financial proof must cover first-year tuition plus CAD 20,635 in living costs (around ₹14.24 Lakhs), the current IRCC floor for a single applicant. A GIC of CAD 20,635 from an approved Canadian bank is the standard funds-proof route for Indian applicants and gets your file into the streamlined stream. Biometrics are done at a VFS centre in India. On arrival in Canada, register with Sheridan’s International Services team for post-arrival immigration compliance.

2026 update: Ontario’s PAL cap is still in force. Sheridan issues PALs only after the CAD 2,000 non-refundable tuition deposit is paid — do not book flights or apply for the study permit before the PAL is in hand.

Tips and Checklist for Sheridan College Admissions

The following tips and steps are drawn from Indian-applicant patterns at Sheridan College — the college’s rolling review means timing matters as much as scoring the eligibility minimums.

  • Apply in the first two weeks of the offer window — Fall applicants who file before 1 November get first review; Animation and Game Design close within 8 to 10 weeks of opening.
  • Build the portfolio 4 to 6 months before applying — Sheridan’s Animation and Interaction Design portfolios are specific in what they want; check each program page for the shot-list, then work backward.
  • Get the MOI letter early — if you plan to skip IELTS via the MOI waiver, request the letter from your school 6 to 8 weeks ahead; late letters delay the file.
  • Rank programs before you pay — CAD 100 per choice adds up; five choices means ₹34,505 spent before you see an offer.
  • Keep CAD 2,000 deposit ready by January 2027 if you are applying for Fall 2027 — Sheridan asks for the PAL deposit within days of offer acceptance.
  • Book IELTS by September 2026 for Fall 2027 applicants — test slots in metro India fill 4 to 6 weeks out, and score validity is 24 months from the first day of classes.
  • Start GIC and study permit prep the day you accept — 8 to 12 weeks of IRCC processing plus GIC setup means a January-accept applicant is cutting it fine for September.
  • Use the PG certificate bundle route — two stacked one-year certificates unlock a longer PGWP, better than a single one-year certificate for post-study work plans.

Sheridan College sits in the accessible band of Canadian public colleges for Indian applicants — 65 percent in Class XII, IELTS 6.0 to 6.5 and an MOI waiver route make the eligibility layer manageable. The real work is in applying early on the primary Fall intake, holding CAD 2,000 for the PAL deposit, and stacking a portfolio if you are aiming at Animation, Game Design or Interaction Design.

Scholarship

  • Yes, scholarships are available. Depending upon the program you are studying, It is offered accordingly. I got $750 scholarships for each semester. So for two semesters I got $1500. Every student studying with me got this scholarship. Most of my Bach mates got it. I don’t know of a single person who didn’t, to be honest. On average, the basic scholarships are bagged by everyone but the ones with huge amounts, like $3000 or more, are as per eligibility criteria. Some are for specific degree programs, while others are to help disabled people, etc.

  • Yes, there are multiple scholarship programs; I received one from the Sheridan Student Union. Eligibility Criteria was that you needed to break down your finances and must have a GPA above 2.5. I received $500 CAD for that period of time. There are so many students who received scholarships in a year; it totally depends on the donor in that year but it can be around 100 or more.

Scholarship

  • I did not receive any scholarships when I applied to Sheridan College for the January 2021 intake. At that time, there were no scholarships automatically awarded to international students because of Covid.
  • Students who maintain a certain GPA during their studies can apply for scholarships, which typically offer around CAD 1,000 per semester.
  • One of my friends received a 1,000 dollar scholarship twice during their academic journey at Sheridan, based on their performance.
  • I’m not exactly sure how many students receive scholarships each year, as the college doesn’t publicly share those statistics in detail.

Overview

I was already working in Talent Acquisition but didn't have an HR degree. I applied to Sheridan due to various factors. I was guided by a friend. Sheridan is close to all Indian amenities & public transportation is fast in the area. After all the experience I will highly recommend trying first University instead of college. Toronto, waterloo, Calgary, Lethbridge or other universities instead of college as a first choice. Choose your course wisely as per 2024 Canada's in-demand skills are Data Analyst/ Nursing/Tool & Die Maker, Power Engineering/ Electric Technician /Engineering, CNC Machinist, Plumbing, and Mechanical Grinder. These are the best courses In demand PR Pathway programs with less competition. 2 years of power Engineering course can land you a 40 -50$ Job at least. The market for IT was good post-COVID-19 but shrank a lot & the trend continues. If you have experience as a net Developer/Data Analyst/Infrastructure support you will still get a chance in the labour market.
