At Concordia University, international students are offered significant funding packages in the form of scholarships, bursaries, and awards. Annually, it awards 200+ undergraduate and graduate program scholarships, the majority of which are categorized as internal Concordia University Scholarships.

  • Along with Concordia University Scholarships, UG program students are also considered for the Undergraduate Entrance Bursary.

Concordia University Scholarships for Undergraduate Program

International students entering Concordia University to pursue an undergraduate program are offered two major scholarships: University Entrance Scholarship and Concordia Presidential Scholarship. Along with these, they are also eligible for various faculty-based entrance scholarship programs.

Concordia University Entrance Scholarship

This scholarship program is designed for high school students who present a minimum award average of 75%. Depending on the applicant’s average, the Concordia University Entrance Scholarship value varies.

Students must note that the Concordia University Entrance Scholarship Award average is calculated on five subjects, including English and four highest eligible courses.

There is no additional application required. You just have to submit your admission applications before April 1.

Concordia Presidential Scholarship

This scholarship program acknowledges students who demonstrate academic merit, community leadership, and dedication to better the global community. Annually, two full-ride Concordia Presidential scholarships are awarded to candidates which cover their tuition fees, books, and cost of living in Canada.

To apply for the scholarship applicants must be nominated by someone who can attest to their character and academic achievements. On receiving a nomination, complete an application package:

  • Student application form
  • Current CV
  • A 1000-word personal statement

The Concordia Presidential Scholarship application package must be sent via email.

Faculty-based Concordia Scholarships

Concordia University Scholarships for Graduate Program

Incoming Concordia masters and doctoral program students are awarded scholarships at Concordia University via a combination of Graduate School scholarships, Provincial scholarships, and Foundation Scholarships.

Graduate School Scholarships at Concordia University

International students are entering any graduate program at Concordia are eligible for the various Concordia entrance scholarships. Meritorious students are automatically considered for these scholarships, based on their admission applications.

  • Concordia International Tuition Award of Excellence: Recipients of this award are exempted from paying tuition fees at the overseas rates. However, they are responsible for the payment of tuition at the Quebec rate. The scholarship is approximately valued at 39,000 CAD.
  • Concordia Doctoral Fellowship: This program offers recipients a fellowship award valued at 14,000 CAD per year. The fellowship is renewable for 4 years.
  • Concordia Merit Scholarship: Valued at 10,000 CAD, this is a non-renewable scholarship offered to academically excellent students.
  • Faculty-based Graduate Scholarships: Every graduate faculty offer incoming students a few entrance scholarships ranging between 1000 CAD- 5000 CAD.

While these Concordia University scholarships are a perk in themselves, they are often topped by research and teaching assistantships. Thus, making the overall funding package substantial enough for students to complete their degree with any burden.

Provincial Scholarships at Concordia University 

Presently, international students, at Concordia, are awarded only one provincial scholarship: the Merit Scholarship Program for Foreign Students (PBEEE). The scholarship program aims to attract the best students and researchers to study in Canada, Quebec, and Concordia.
