Beedie School of Business, School of Simon Fraser University, enrolls over 3,800 students in the BBA program at Burnaby and Surrey campus. Beedie School of Business Admission Deadline

The deadlines for undergraduate courses are more or less the same for all courses but for the graduate courses, admission is done in rounds. The final round deadline for each graduate course is different. Applicants must refer to the course page from the Beedie School of Business website for date changes.

English Proficiency Requirement for International Students

Beedie School of Business requires all international students whose native language is not English or whose previous education was conducted in other languages, to submit an English language proficiency test score.

Undergraduate applicants, having following qualifications, are exempted from submitting above scores:

  • Completion of the last three (3) years of full-time secondary school education in English in Canada with a minimum grade of 70% in senior level English
  • Completion of the last three (3) years of full-time secondary school education in English in a country in which the principal language of instruction is English with minimum grade of 70% in senior level English
  • Completion of the last four (4) years of full-time secondary school education in English at a recognized international school in a country in which the principal language of instruction is not English with a minimum grade of 70% in senior level English
  • Completion of the IB Diploma Program including English A (HL/SL) or English Literature and Performance (SL) with a minimum grade of 3
  • Completion of a three-unit English (ENGL) course or a certified W (writing intensive) course for which SFU grants transfer credit, with a minimum grade of C

Visa Process for International Students

  • After an acceptance letter is offered to students, they are required to pay a non-refundable deposit amounting to $2,000.
  • Applicants must then apply for a student visa at the nearest Canadian embassy.
  • The application can be done online but one has to appear for an interview at the embassy.

Beedie School of Business Undergraduate Admission

The Beedie School of Business offers BBA business program, Business minor and business certificate courses as undergraduate courses. International students are accepted to apply to undergraduate courses.

All applicants are required to have prior work experience of at least 2 years. Students can choose from 9 different concentration areas for the BBA Major course. Deadline for undergraduate admission for the Fall 2020 semester ends on January 21, 2020.

Admission requirements: Students are required to meet the school's literacy, language and quantitative eligibility criteria of school.

Literacy Requirement:

  • English 12 grade of 75% or higher OR
  • Registration to Foundations of Academic Literacy (FAL X99) or passing the Language Proficiency Index test, if 70%-74% in English 12

Quantitative Requirement:

  • A minimum grade of 60% or C in a senior level math course or precalculus OR
  • A minimum score of 3 in IB Mathematics (HL/SL), Mathematics Analysis and Approaches (HL/SL), Mathematics Applications or Interpretations (HL/SL) or Math Studies (SL) OR
  • A minimum D grade in GCE A/AS/O level math OR
  • A grade of C- or better in a 3-unit math or certified Q (quantitative) course that transfers to SFU (for college and university transfer students).

Supporting Documents:

  • A short answer essay questions describing applicant’s abilities and communication skills
  • Description of extra-curricular activities
  • Two references: One from school counsellor/teacher

Beedie School of Business Graduate Admission

Beedie School of Business’s graduate courses includes full-time MBA, part-time MBA, Executive MBA, MSc. in Finance, PhD and diploma and certificate courses. A total of 55 students are admitted every year at the full-time MBA course. Besides the 12 months long course, there is also a 4-month long internship that students are required to take up.
