Langara College Eligibility for Indian Students
Langara sets two academic tracks: one for its Bachelor’s, associate degree, diploma, and certificate routes, and a separate Bachelor’s-degree floor for the two-year Post-Degree Diplomas. English proficiency is required unless a published waiver applies.
- UG general entry: Class XII completion with at least 50 percent in each compulsory and elective subject.
- Post-secondary applicants: With 24 or more transferable credits, a minimum CGPA of 2.33 on 4.0.
- PDD entry: Completed Bachelor’s from a recognised institution. Langara treats a 3-year Indian Bachelor’s as a match.
- Age route: Applicants at least 19 years old on the intake start date can qualify without Grade 12.
Langara accepts several English tests, each valid for two years from the test date. Undergraduate Category 1 and 2 programs (business, computer science, most academic streams) run a slightly higher score than Category 3 programs (general arts and science).
| Test | Cat 1 & 2 Minimum | Cat 3 Minimum |
|---|---|---|
| IELTS Academic | 6.5 overall, no band below 6.0 | 6.5 overall |
| TOEFL iBT | 88 with 20 per skill | 80 (W20, R20, L18, S18) |
| PTE Academic | 56, no skill below 55 | 56 |
| Duolingo English Test | 110 | 110 |
| CAEL | 70, no band below 60 | 60 |
Langara College English Waivers for Indian Students
Indian applicants who completed full-time secondary or post-secondary study in English at a recognised institution in an approved English-speaking country may be exempt from a test score, and a completed Bachelor’s or higher in one of those countries clears the floor automatically. India is not on Langara’s approved country list for the language-of-instruction waiver, so most Indian applicants must submit an IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Duolingo, or CAEL result. The ILAC pathway (Level 3.3, Level 16) is accepted for two years from completion. There is no MOI-letter shortcut for Indian secondary schooling.
Langara College Post-Degree Diploma Programs
Langara’s Post-Degree Diploma (PDD) route is a two-year credential of four semesters of classroom study plus a work term for co-op streams, built for graduates who already hold a Bachelor’s and want a Canadian PGWP-eligible qualification. Base tuition sits at C$ 20,308.80 per year (₹ 13.94 Lakh) for a 30-credit load. See the detailed fee breakdown for per-program totals. Intakes open in Spring, Summer, and Fall.

2026 update: The PDD in Marketing Management stays suspended for new applicants. Langara paused intake from Fall 2025, so file to the PDD in Business Administration or Global Business Management instead.
Note: Program-specific entry requirements, fees, and intake availability may differ from the institution-wide minimums shown above. Always confirm on the official Langara programs page for your chosen program before applying.
Langara College Bachelor and Diploma Programs
Langara’s undergraduate line-up runs from two-year Diplomas and Associate Degrees (fully transferable to BC universities) through a small set of Baccalaureates. Base tuition matches the PDD figure at C$ 20,308.80 per year (₹ 13.94 Lakh) for full-time load. Most Indian applicants pick a Diploma or Associate Degree route because the Bachelor of Business Administration intake stays suspended.
| Programme | Duration | Minimum Eligibility | English Req. Min. |
|---|---|---|---|
| Associate of Arts Degree (General) | 2 years | Class XII with 50 percent in each subject | IELTS 6.5 (Cat 3) |
| Associate of Science in Computer Science | 2 years | Class XII with Mathematics | IELTS 6.5 (Cat 1/2) |
| Diploma in Accounting | 2 years | Class XII with Mathematics | IELTS 6.5 (Cat 1/2) |

| Bachelor of Business Administration (suspended) | 4 years | Class XII 50 percent, CGPA 2.33 if post-secondary | IELTS 6.5 (Cat 1/2) |
Insider note: Diploma routes like Accounting and Business Administration transfer to a BC university Bachelor’s after two years, which is the workaround Indian applicants use since Langara’s own BBA intake is closed.
Langara College Application Process via EducationPlannerBC
All Langara applications, undergraduate through PDD, route through EducationPlannerBC (EPBC), the central platform used by every public post-secondary institution in British Columbia. Langara does not accept direct applications by email or hard copy. You get one application per intake per program, with the option to name one Additional Program of Interest at no extra fee. The Fall 2027 EPBC cycle opens on 1 October 2026.
- Create an EPBC account at the EducationPlannerBC Langara portal and pick your intake term.
- Pay the application fee of C$ 155 (₹ 10,642), non-refundable and charged per submission.
- Upload supporting documents including Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, Bachelor’s transcript (for PDD), and English test score.
- Track your file and expect confirmation within 3 to 10 business days on the Langara Admissions Portal.
- Accept the offer and pay the non-refundable seat deposit of C$ 6,000 (₹ 4.12 Lakh) for Spring 2027 or C$ 9,000 (₹ 6.18 Lakh) for Summer 2027 and later intakes.
- Register for courses once the deposit clears and complete the Study Permit application in parallel.
Insider note: EPBC lets you save and edit for up to 30 days before submitting. Build the profile, pay the C$ 155 (₹ 10,642) fee, then upload documents. Late document uploads still count as long as the base application is in before the deadline.
Langara College Admission Decisions Timeline
Langara reviews applications in the order they are received and issues decisions in rolling batches. Most Indian applicants hear back within 6 to 10 weeks of a complete file. Popular PDDs (Business Administration, Data Analytics, Nursing Practice) close well before the published deadline once seats fill, so an early submission is worth more than a late polished one.
- Confirmation of receipt: Within 3 to 10 business days by email.
- Offer letter: Typically 6 to 10 weeks after a complete application.
- Offer acceptance window: Usually 30 days from the offer date, marked on the letter.
- Deposit payment: C$ 6,000 to C$ 9,000 (₹ 4.12 to ₹ 6.18 Lakh) due before the seat is confirmed.
- Deferral policy: One deferral to the next available intake is allowed, and the deposit carries forward.
Planning note: Aim to hold your offer letter at least four months before intake start. The Canadian Study Permit for BC requires a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL), which Langara issues only after you accept and pay the deposit.
Langara College Documents Required for International Students
Paperwork for Langara is lighter than for a traditional university. There is no formal Statement of Purpose or reference-letter requirement at the application stage. Upload scanned PDFs on EPBC. Original attested copies are asked only after the offer is accepted, and Langara reserves the right to ask for WES or IQAS evaluations for specific PDD streams.
- Passport bio page: Valid for the full duration of the program.
- Class 10 mark sheet and passing certificate.
- Class 12 mark sheet plus a school-issued medium-of-instruction letter.
- Bachelor’s degree transcript and provisional certificate (for PDD applicants only).
- English test score report sent electronically from IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Duolingo, or CAEL.
- Statement of intent: Only for programs like Nursing Practice in Canada that request it.
- WES or IQAS credential evaluation: On request from Langara after review.
Langara College Acceptance Rate for Indian Students
Langara does not publish an official institutional acceptance rate. Third-party estimates place the overall admit rate in the 60 to 70 percent band, based on the college’s open-admission orientation for most programs and its published enrolment of around 23,000 students each year from more than 100 countries. Program-level selectivity varies sharply, and Indian applicants should treat the headline figure as a floor, not a ceiling.
Langara College Admission Chances for Indian Applicants
Applicants who clear the Class XII 50 percent floor and post an IELTS 6.5 with no band below 6.0 face few academic barriers. The bigger risk is timing. Competitive PDDs (Business Administration, Data Analytics, Nursing Practice in Canada) fill early and close ahead of the deadline. Applying within the first six weeks of a cycle opening improves your odds materially.
Langara College Program-Level Selectivity
Limited-enrolment programs like Nursing, Bioinformatics, Web and Mobile App Development, and Film Arts sit tighter than the headline rate. General streams like Associate of Arts, Diploma in Business Administration, and Applied Science for Engineering track closer to the open-admission band. Read student reviews of Langara College for program-level admit patterns.
Insider note: Langara caps international enrolment in some programs. Even a strong file can be waitlisted if you apply in the last month of a cycle, so earlier is always better.
Canada Student Visa for Langara College Applicants
Indian students bound for Langara need a Canadian Study Permit issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Because Langara sits in British Columbia, a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) from the BC government is a mandatory attachment. Langara requests the PAL on your behalf once you have accepted the offer and paid the deposit. Apply for the Study Permit through the IRCC portal, with a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) of C$ 20,635 (₹ 14.17 Lakh) and first-year tuition proof.
File the visa the moment your PAL and Letter of Acceptance land. Biometrics are done at a VFS Global centre in India, and processing takes 8 to 12 weeks for most Indian applicants. Register with a local family doctor and enrol in the mandatory iMED international student medical plan within your first two weeks in Vancouver.
2026 update: The IRCC study-permit cap for BC institutions stays in force through the 2026-27 intake year, so a valid PAL is non-negotiable. No PAL, no permit, no boarding pass.
Tips and Checklist for Langara College Admissions
The following tips and steps are drawn from Indian-applicant patterns at Langara. The college works on rolling review, so timing carries more weight than a polished essay bundle.
- File 6 to 8 months early: Submit the EPBC form well before the deadline. Competitive PDDs close on capacity.
- Request WES upfront: Order the WES ICAP evaluation the same week you get your Bachelor’s provisional. It takes 4 to 6 weeks.
- Book IELTS early: Aim for a slot 5 to 6 months before intake so retakes stay possible if you miss the 6.0 band floor.
- Pay the deposit fast: The C$ 6,000 (₹ 4.12 Lakh) or C$ 9,000 (₹ 6.18 Lakh) deposit unlocks your PAL request queue.
- Set up the GIC via SBI or ICICI: The C$ 20,635 (₹ 14.17 Lakh) GIC is a Study Permit requirement. Start it once you have the LOA.
- Use the Additional Program of Interest slot: Free backup on the same EPBC form. Pick a Diploma if your first choice is a limited-enrolment PDD.
- Confirm English test category: Match your target score to Cat 1/2 (business, CS) or Cat 3 (general arts) before booking.
- Explore funding for Indian students: The C$ 7,500 (₹ 5.15 Lakh) International Entrance Scholarship applies automatically for eligible UG applicants.
Langara admissions reward speed, accurate paperwork, and correct English-test category. Missing the C$ 155 (₹ 10,642) EPBC fee window or ignoring the PAL requirement remains the top failure mode for Indian applicants each cycle.

- The campus environment which fosters lots of opportunities for a student to develop into a confident and skilled person.
- Students from all over the world making it a very diverse place to study where learning has no gender or discrimination towards any culture.
- The campus has modern facilities and technology required today.
Dislikes
- Registration Process was not appealing in my case. As the college had limited seats for some courses for which many students had to defer to next semester which wasted a lot of their time and efforts .
- The Admin team takes a lot of time to reply and give updates on application status which is very frustrating.
- So many students didn’t receive any reply or update from the Langara admin team about their application status. It just showed Docs Received for months and after that nothing was updated.
Overview
Location was one of the main reasons for me to choose Langara as it is the heart of Vancouver which is a mix of nature and downtown providing you ample opportunities to explore. The campus is well connected with transit and it is accessible to reach other places faster. It has students across the globe making it a great place to connect and explore new cultures under one roof. Langara college to me was a home away from home. The diverse campus in Langara gave me an amazing opportunity to make friends across the globe. It made me more adaptive, confident than I was before. My overall experience at Langara was a roller coaster ride full of adventure, fun and lots of learning.
Overview
One of the best colleges in metro Vancouver in terms of infrastructure, curriculum, and faculty. More than 20000 students were enrolled in college back in the day. Experience was good i got lot of lessons experiences memories. College life is good and enjoyed too. The college is good in terms of infrastructure. Events and all. Overall I would say it was good. None, nothing was required to get into college. They didn't ask for any kind of SoP, LoRs, or CV. I got enrolled in 2020. Back in the day process was really smooth to get into langara.

- Main Vancouver location, short classes, plenty of time to work.
Overview
I would rate this as one of the best experience. It was difficult as hell, due to financial problems, home sickness. But after all I became a very confident individual with lots of experiences and friends.

- Because of its high reputation and prestige. Moreover, it also has its root top colleges and universities in abroad.
Overview
My overall experience is that here study is not that tough but assignments are a whole different thing. It requires time , focus and may also result in plagiarism if not paid attention.

- I was looking for a 2 year Data Analytics program from a good college as most universities had only 1 year program and very expensive. Langara is a reputable college in Vancouver and has one of the most affordable fees.
- The faculty of the college are very good and helpful. There are lot of volunteer options to take part in the college. For new international students there is a counselling department to help them with home sick and cope up with the new learning style. The fee is quite affordable when compared with other colleges.
Dislikes
- There should have been an in-campus accommodation considering the amount of international students in the college, college provides options for PG but it’s quite expensive and the seats fill out quite fast.
Overview
To be honest it’s difficult to come to a new country and settle in but still I find the college to be very welcoming to international students they are always there if you need any help personally or academically.
Scholarship
Langara doesn’t provide any scholarships.

- Even if it is a college, the rules and regulations and atmosphere were equal to a university. Great professors, Great teaching, Lab facilities and variety of courses that a person can dream of and join. Affordable tuition fee for students especially international students.
- My program is Diploma in Arts and Sciences Health Sciences, I chose this course because I’m a great fan of science and I’m very much interested in medical field. So if I graduate in this course in future I can opt any other course related to science like psychology and so on.
Overview
My overall experience in my college was excellent. The professors were awesome and everyone students will become friends with small span of time. There are different buildings for different courses such as science in different building, Business and IT and so on. Overall it was astonishing experience.
Likes
- It was the only one that had a data program with 2 year program.
- My college experience was very enriching and rewarding. I learned not only the core concepts of my field, but also the skills and competencies needed to succeed in the job market. The professors were very knowledgeable and helpful.
- The college administration was very efficient and responsive. I could easily contact any department, such as IT or academic affairs, and get prompt assistance.
Dislikes
- The program I attended was not very helpful in terms of providing us with connections for job opportunities. I felt that they could have done more to support us in finding suitable employers.
- Another issue I saw was the overcrowding of some Programs. It was difficult for some students to register for the courses, and sometimes they had to waitlist for a long time or take courses from other colleges. This is stressful and inconvenient, especially since students had to maintain a minimum of 9 credits per semester to keep their student status in Canada and work part-time.
Overview
I learned a lot from Langara college. It really helps students in terms of overall development of an individual. But it is a little lacking in terms of job opportunities.

- The faculty members are supportive and are always ready to help. They have a defined structure of the course and believe more in practical concepts than theoretical. Every semester has group projects and even individual projects.
Dislikes
- I personally liked everything during my time. There are activities in every semester and deadlines are always tight which might be good for some and not for others. The classes could even end at 10 at night.
Overview
It was good, I have provided all the required details which could answer this question in above questions.
Likes
- I had my mind to get in a well known college in Vancouver and Langara was the best option.
Overview
The college is good but the structure of picking up courses is quite bad many students lack behind time due to their work and are sometimes unable to register courses.

- Initially, it becomes difficult for every student to cooperate with any institutions matters. But eventually one becomes familiar. Getting admission into my college is really fun as one experiences a lot of extracurricular activities, sometimes a far college student. Also get chair massages for free during exams, so as to ease the tension. We also get health and dental benefits.
Overview
I chose this university because it offers entrance to only those students with 85 percentile and above. Moreover, the marking criteria of this college is a very tough pants. It prepares the student for further competitive exams. There are many extracurricular activities a student can do.
Scholarship
No, I did not get any scholarship because our college do not give a scholarship. Our college gives scholarship on the basis of study you do in Canada.
