Admissions at Langara College are offered in the 3 seasonal intakes of Fall, Spring and Summer. The institute starts accepting deadlines 11 months to the start of term and since the competition for some of its courses is cutthroat, aspirants are advised to send in their applications at least 6 months prior to the start of term.

With English being the primary medium of instruction at the college, it becomes mandatorily significant that the aspiring international candidates submit their language proficiency scores to the institute. Some of the acceptable tests along with their test scores are as tabulated below.

Note that students who fail to meet the required specifications for English proficiency can apply to Langara English for Academic Purposes program (LEAP) to enroll at the college.
International aspirants of the college must apply for a study permit and visa to study in Canada at the nearest Canadian Embassy if the duration of the program they are enrolling in is longer than 6 months in nature. The entire process usually takes 4 to 8 weeks and thus should be applied for at the earliest.
Legal residents coming from countries like China, India, Morocco, Pakistan, the Philippines, Senegal, or Vietnam are also offered an alternative method of Student Direct Stream (SDS) by the Government of Canada for processing their permits faster.

International aspirants are strongly advised to send in their applications at the earliest possible opportunity because the admissions to many of the programs at the college are offered on first-come first-served basis and closes as soon as the seats are occupied.
The processing time for a Study Permit usually lasts up to 8 weeks and thus, it is the sole responsibility of the candidate to ensure there is enough time to report on the specified date mentioned in their Letter of Acceptance, writing any placement tests and registering for classes.
A candidate can apply to up to 2 programs using only one application in a particular term. If a student who has been offered admission but fails to enroll himself/herself in that particular term can reactivate their application offer up to 2 consecutive semester terms.
