It's a good college in Assam.

Fees -

Feasible because it is a government engineering college. This college is under Assam govtment which was established in 1955 and inaugurated by Prime Minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The admission fee for a year is likely 2000 to 3000 max.

Course Curriculum -

The mechanical department is a good branch of this college. Mainly mechanical, civil, electrical, the chemical is the best branch in this college. The exam is the basis of the semester system. Every sem i.e., every six months they scheduled the exam and the examination procedure, the examination is very disciplined.

The Engineering College of Alumni

Fees -

they pay a sum of about rs10,000/- every year in the name of the admission fee. The semester exam cost about 2,000/- and the technical fest costs about rs.1,500/- per student. All in all, a student from AEC has to shell out about 13,000/- every year. Besides this, there are other costs like a club membership, sports membership, but they are not fixed as not everyone is a part of them.

Course Curriculum -

To be honest, the course is outdated. We are still being taught subjects and methods which have been long removed by industries due to their inefficiency compared to new methods. In the 1st year, all students are taught the same course of basic civil engineering, mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer language etc, regardless of department. The branch studies begin from the 2nd year. Project work begins in the final year, with each semester we have to submit 2 projects. In the 7th sem, we have to choose a topic on our own for project. We are given a guide regarding the field in which we are doing. The guide generally has a masters or PhD in that field. In the 8th sem project, we are given...

Fees -

All the courses are funded by government organisation so the fees are very minimal with respect to other colleges. The tution fees and exam fees are the main expenses. The tution fees is collected on an annual basis and changes marginally every year. Normally it can be averaged at around Rs9,500 annually. The exam fees has to be deposited once a semester and comes at a maximum of Rs1800.

Course Curriculum -

The course structure is very rigourous covering all the possible subjects of any particular branch. Practical knowledge is very much emphasised on. I spent a lot of time in the laboratory and as well as in the field during two semesters of Surveying and an extra Survey Camp. From early semesters the students are encouraged to engage themselves in research activities and also academically they are engaged through many mini projects from earlier semesters besides the final year major projects.

Fees -

Fee structure is I guess one of the cheapest in whole India with total fees in whole year being Rs 11,000. It is mainy because it is a govt college. We also get a lot free facilities like getting books free of cost for the whole semester.

Course Curriculum -

It has three parts physics, chemistry, maths. Each consisting of 100 question with one marks and there is no negative marking. It is a three exam.It is a state level entrance exam with other colleges also taking students from the marks secured in this exam. It is a competitive exam as not only student from Assam but from entire northeast competes to get a seat into one of the many colleges. The exam is held at different centres spread throughout the entire Assam.
