Which MBA route should you pick at NHCE?

Entry route
MBA through Karnataka PGCET (PGCET seat)
Tuition INR 57,750 a year. PGCET GM closed at 20,729 in round 3 of 2025.
Pick it if:
You want to be close to Bangalore's tech parks: the campus is on the Outer Ring Road near Marathahalli, so internships in the city's tech belt are a short trip.
You want the lowest fee for this MBA: the KEA seat costs INR 1,15,500 for two years, against INR 7 Lakhs on a college seat.
Your PGCET GM rank is under 20,729: that rank cleared the GM seat here in round 3 of 2025, so list NHCE in your KEA options.
Skip it if:
You are not a Karnataka candidate: only Karnataka candidates can take a PGCET government seat, so the college seat is your route.
You need your seat fixed early: KEA fills these seats round by round, and the round 2 dates are not out yet.
MBA through KMAT, MAT or CAT (College seat)
Tuition INR 3.50 Lakhs a year. No closing score is published for this route.
Pick it if:
You hold a KMAT, MAT or CAT score but no PGCET rank: this route is your only way into the NHCE MBA.
You want analytics roles in a tech-heavy city: Business Analytics is one of the five areas, with the HP Big Data and Data Analytics Centre on campus.
You want to apply straight to the college: the NHCE form for college seats stays open till 30 Sep 2026.
Skip it if:
You want a published MBA placement record before paying INR 7 Lakhs: the college gives only a campus-wide average of INR 6.5 LPA.
You have a strong PGCET rank: the KEA seat costs INR 1,15,500 in all, so a college seat would cost you far more.
Counsellor's advice
If your PGCET GM rank is under 2,619, put NHCE high in your round 1 options; the government seat costs far less. If you have no PGCET rank, weigh the INR 7 Lakhs college seat against the campus-wide pay before you pay.
MBA Eligibility▾
Degree: A bachelor's degree of at least three years from a recognised university.
Marks: 50% in all. 45% for SC, ST and Category 1 students.
Exam for a government seat: A Karnataka PGCET rank, through KEA counselling. Only Karnataka candidates qualify.
Exam for a college seat: A KMAT, MAT or CAT score, through the NHCE application form.
Same rule, every branch: One MBA programme, so one marks rule for all five specialisation areas.
MBA Admission Process▾
Write the exam: Karnataka PGCET for a government seat; KMAT, MAT or CAT for a college seat.
Enter options on the KEA portal: List NHCE among your colleges, best first. Your PGCET rank decides the allotment in each round.
Pick your choice after allotment: Accept and join, or keep the seat and try for a better one in round 2.
Pay the fee and report: Pay in the fee window and report at NHCE with your originals, or you lose the seat.
Choose your areas later: Your major and minor are picked from the five areas for the second year.

In short
BMSIT and M charges INR 1.50 Lakhs less on a college seat, and its PGCET GM seat closed far tighter, at 1,617. If your rank clears it, take it; if not, NHCE is the easier seat to reach.
In short
Dayananda Sagar's PGCET GM seat closed at 803, the toughest in this list, and its college seat fee is not published. If your rank is that strong, take it; otherwise NHCE is the easier seat to reach.
In short
Acharya charges INR 1.50 Lakhs more for a college seat, but its PGCET GM close was easier, at 26,789. If you miss NHCE's close, Acharya is a fallback; if you clear it, NHCE costs less.
In short
Sir MVIT lists INR 4 Lakhs less in fees, and its round 2 GM close was 30,476. If the fee matters most, weigh it closely; NHCE sits nearer the east Bangalore tech parks.

FAQs on New Horizon College of Engineering MBA

Short answers to what students ask before they apply.

How do I get admission to the MBA at NHCE?▾
Write Karnataka PGCET and list NHCE in your KEA options for a government seat. For a college seat, apply to NHCE with a KMAT, MAT or CAT score. Either way you need a degree with 50% marks, or 45% if you are SC, ST or Category 1.
Is the fee the same for every specialisation?▾
Yes. Your seat decides the fee, not your areas. A PGCET government seat costs INR 1,15,500 for two years at the KEA fee, and a college seat costs INR 7 Lakhs, both without hostel.
Which specialisations can I choose?▾
You pick two of five areas: Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Business Analytics and Operations. One is your major and one your minor, for the second year.
What PGCET rank do I need for NHCE MBA?▾
In 2025 the GM seat for the rest of Karnataka closed at 2,619 in round 1 and 20,729 in round 3. The 2A seat closed at 6,162 and the SC seat at 8,391. The rank checker above sorts it by category and quota.
Does NHCE publish MBA placement figures?▾
No MBA-only figure is published. The campus-wide average domestic pay in 2025 was INR 6.5 LPA, across all courses. Ask the placement cell for the last MBA batch report before you pay.
Can I pay the fee in parts?▾
Yes. On a college seat the tuition fee is paid INR 1.75 Lakhs a semester over four semesters. On a PGCET seat you pay INR 57,750 a year.
Is hostel compulsory for MBA students?▾
No. Hostel and mess cost INR 1.60 Lakhs a year if you take it, or INR 3.20 Lakhs for the two years.
Which scholarships can MBA students get?▾
SC and ST students on a PGCET government seat can get the KEA seat fee paid by the state post-matric scholarship. OBC students can apply for Vidyasiri, and past Central Sector Scheme holders get INR 20,000 a year.
