The fees is feasible from a design education point of view. Currently the fees is about Rs 2 lakhs per semester which includes tuition, hostel, food and other charges. Most of the other design colleges charge at least thrice the amount that NID charges.
Course Structure is very good. There are no parallel subject that go through the whole semester but the semesters are broken down into weekly modules. Each module is started and completed and then you move forward to the next module. There are no exams, instead there is a continuous evaluation system. There are review sessions during the modules and you are evaluated on the basis of your work and profeesionalism. There is a jury presentation at the end of the semester where you present everything that you have done in the whole semester.
Expensive than other colleges in India. As a government college the fee is really expensive. Even the distance of the college from the main city makes the student spend a lot on stuff that the student wants on a regular basis or is looking forward to have for their needs.
It focuses on the design field. There are 3 design fields which includes - Communication design, Industrial Design and Textile and apparel design. It's a hectic course and you leave every day gaining a lot if knowledge.
It is really expensive the tuition is 1 lac per semester, then the hostel fee. All calculated is 2.5 per semester. They charge during Internship programs too, during that students is not there in college for the whole semester.
It's really good course where I'm able to learn alot of things which are going to help me in my future. We have juries not the writing exams where we have to present ourselves and explain the work to the jury members.
Because NID is a government college their Fees are really low compared to other private design colleges, Its fees goes around 3 lakhs a year including hostel and food. It is really feasible. And if you know you wont be able to pay all your fees then you have a option for loan from Bank of India, which doesn’t keep any mortgages.
The course curriculum is set by the head of the department and is improvised every year since the start of the college, sometimes the faculties from outside India also comes as a visiting faculty. About the exams, we dont have a written exams as such but we got assessed for every course we have attended and a jury will be there about all your courses for the semester.
The fee structure is feasible as far as design colleges are concerned. But expensive if you think of it as a government college. There are no scholarships, hence one should really consider all sides.
NID has a good curriculum for design education. The curriculum itself is constantly revised and modernised each year. As the kind of learning differed according to each faculty and student, there is no strict syllabus but a course abstract for an overall guideline of what the course should be. The curriculum comprises of modules of different subjects relevant to design education of current times. There are no exams. The evaluation is continues and cumulative. The semester is concluded with a Jury to evaluate overall learning. The jury evaluates your overall work in the semester along with your learning. It is also a platform to learn to showcase and present your work which is useful in futur...
Tuition fees are 1.20 lacs. Infrastructure fees around 55k hostel charges 25k. And other facilities amounting upto 2.1 lacs plus hostel mess fees. This amount is feasible for almost everyone. This is reasonable and plus given it is a government college it is a very good fee structure.
In your first year in nid there is something called the foundation course. In this course you will be made to undergo thorough practice in all types of courses and then in the end after you finish your foundation semester there will be a jury and they'll decide which discipline of design should you go for.
