What is BEET 2027?

BEET 2027 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

You must have a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree from a recognised university. The minimum percentage required is:

• SC / ST / PwD candidates: At least 45% marks
• BE / BTech degree holders: At least 55% aggregate (eligible for Mathematics and Science teaching subjects)

Subject Requirement

You should have studied at least two school-level subjects at the graduation level. This matters because these subjects will form your teaching subjects during the B.Ed programme. For example, if you want to teach Hindi and Social Studies at the school level, you must have studied these subjects during graduation.

Age Limit

There is no upper age limit for BEET. Any candidate who has completed the required degree qualification can apply, regardless of age.

Nationality

You must be an Indian citizen. Candidates with a Bihar domicile are eligible for the state-level counselling and seat allotment process.

Shiksha Shastri Candidates

If you want to appear for the Shiksha Shastri stream, you must have Sanskrit as a subject in your graduation. For these candidates, the General Sanskrit section replaces the General English section in the exam paper.

BEET 2027 Application Process

BEET Reservation Policy

The Bihar government follows a reservation policy for B.Ed and Shiksha Shastri admissions through BEET. Reservation applies to both seat allocation and qualifying cutoff marks across government and aided B.Ed colleges in Bihar.

Category-wise Seat Reservation

In addition to category reservation, there is also a horizontal reservation for women, differently abled (PwD) candidates, and dependents of ex-servicemen within each category. Reserved category candidates also get a relaxation of 5 percentage points in the minimum qualifying marks.

Reserved category candidates who score high enough to qualify on the General merit list are counted in the unreserved merit list. This benefits meritorious reserved category students who can compete for the top seats without being restricted to the reserved quota.

Read the News Every Day

General Awareness is the highest-scoring section. Read a newspaper every day and follow Bihar state news. Track government schemes, sports events, science updates, and national and international current affairs. Make a weekly note of key events for last-minute revision.

Practice Reasoning Questions Daily

Reasoning questions are at the Class 10 level but need speed. Practice series, analogies, coding-decoding, blood relations, and direction problems every day. Take timed mini-tests with 25 questions in 25–30 minutes to build the speed you will need on exam day.

Build Strong Teaching-Learning Concepts

This section tests understanding, not memorisation. Study learning theories (Piaget, Vygotsky, Bloom’s Taxonomy), classroom management, child development, NEP 2020 key points, and RTE Act 2009 provisions. Give this section dedicated weekly study time because the concepts are wide-ranging.

Prepare Hindi and English Grammar Smartly

Solve Previous Year Papers Under Timed Conditions

Solve BEET question papers from 2024, 2025, and 2026 in full, under a 2-hour time limit. This builds your speed, shows where you are weak, and gets you comfortable with the OMR format. Aim to complete at least 3–5 full papers before the exam.

Attempt All 120 Questions on Exam Day

BEET has no negative marking. Leaving a question blank gives you zero. Making your best guess gives you a chance at 1 mark. Always attempt every question — even if you are unsure.
