Example From Class 7 Chapter 2 Fractions and Decimals

Ques. Convert 0.75 as a fraction in its simplest form.

Ans. Let us write 0.75 in the form of a numerator and the denominator. 

We know that 0.75 has two numbers after the decimal,

Hence, we write 100 as the denominator and remove the decimal from the numerator.

The number thus can be written as a fraction = \(\frac{75}{100}\)

Simplifying the fraction further we get, \(\frac{75}{25}\)  X \(\frac{25}{100}\) = \(\frac{3}{4}\)

Hence, 0.75 can be written as \(\frac{3}{4}\) in the simplest form.
