Class 8 Mathematics Chapter 7 Cubes and Cube Roots – Important Topics

Cube Root: Cube root of number is a value which when multiplied by itself thrice or three times produces the original value. For example, the cube root of 27, denoted as 3√27, is 3, because when we multiply 3 by itself three times we get 3 x 3 x 3 = 27 = 33. So, we can say, the cube root gives the value which is basically cubed.

The symbol of cube root is given by‘3√’ and (given number)3 is the symbol for finding cube of that given number.

Formula for Cube root is given by,

Cube root = x1/3

  • A perfect cube is where when a cube root is taken for that number, it results in a natural number.
  • Cube root of a given number is calculated by the method of Prime Factorization.
  • Every number cannot have its perfect cube but every number has a cube number.
