SAT Results 2026: Score Release Dates & How to Check

​​SAT results help Indian students assess their performance in the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT), which is used for undergraduate admissions at universities worldwide.

• The Digital SAT has two sections, Reading and Writing and Math, with scores ranging from 200 to 800 each.

How Are SAT Scores Calculated?

The SAT consists of two sections: Reading and Writing and Math. Each section has two adaptive modules, and the difficulty level of the second module depends on your performance in the first. • The total SAT score ranges from 400 to 1600, calculated by adding the two section scores, each ranging from 200 to 800.
• College Board uses a scaled scoring system to account for differences in question difficulty and other question characteristics. Therefore, students who answer the same number of questions correctly may receive different scores.
• There is no penalty for incorrect answers or guessing.
• College Board recommends attempting every question rather than leaving it blank. The scoring model also considers whether an answer pattern suggests guessing, but students do not lose points for wrong answers.

Note: The standard SAT taken by Indian students at international test centres does not include an Essay section. The Essay is available only in certain US state school-day administrations.

SAT Score Report 2026

SAT scores are generally available 2–3 weeks after the test date. College Board sends an email to the address linked to your account when your results are ready. Students can log in to the College Board Student Score Reports portal to view their scores and download the SAT score report PDF.

The SAT score report includes:

• Total Score: Your overall SAT score, ranging from 400 to 1600.
• Section Scores: Separate Reading and Writing and Math scores, each ranging from 200 to 800.

SAT results are released approximately 2 weeks after the test date. You receive an email from College Board when your scores are live on the MySAT dashboard. You can then send free score reports to up to 4 universities.

• Additional reports cost $12 (around ₹1,140) each and can be sent later through the same dashboard.
• SAT score validity period is 5 years from the test date. Most US universities accept scores up to 5 years old for admissions, but some competitive schools prefer scores from the last 2 to 3 years.

How to Send SAT Scores to Universities?

Indian students applying to universities abroad can send their SAT scores directly through their College Board accounts. For weekend SAT registrations, up to four score reports are free if selected during registration, before test day, or within nine days after the test.

Steps to Send SAT Scores:

1. Sign in: Log in to your College Board account.
2. Open the score-sending page: Go to the Send SAT Scores section.
3. Choose universities: Search for colleges or universities by name or institution code and add your selected recipients.
4. Select scores: If you have taken the SAT more than once, review each university's policy to determine whether you can send selected test dates or need to send all scores.
5. Review and pay: Check the recipients, selected scores, and applicable fees before submitting your order.

SAT Rescoring Policy 2026

If you believe there may be an error in your SAT score, you can request SAT score verification through College Board. This service checks your score using the available verification procedures; it is not a re-evaluation of your answers or a review of question difficulty.

• How to request: Contact College Board Customer Service by phone.

• Deadline: Submit your request within five months of the test date.
• Fee: US55 (₹5218).
• Payment: Credit card payment is required for phone service.
• Limit: Score verification can be requested only once per test.
• Availability: Score verification for the paper-and-pencil SAT is no longer available.
