UPTAC 2027 (Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling) is the state-level centralised counselling process conducted by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow for admissions to B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Pharm, BHMCT, B.Des, MBA, MCA and other technical programmes across 763+ affiliated institutes in Uttar Pradesh. Admissions are granted on the basis of national-level entrance exam scores — JEE Main for B.Tech, NATA or JEE Paper 2 for B.Arch, and CUET PG for MBA and MCA. The UPTAC 2026 cycle is currently winding down with its final special rounds, and the 2027 cycle is expected to begin registration in May 2027 after JEE Main 2027 results are declared.

  • JEE Main 2027: The primary qualifying exam for UPTAC 2027 B.Tech admissions. Session 1 is expected in January 2027 and Session 2 in April 2027 — in 2026, Session 2 concluded in April. Your best NTA score across both sessions will be used for the UPTAC 2027 merit list.
  • UPTAC 2027 Registration: Expected to open around May 2027 — in 2026 registration opened on May 25 and closed on June 30. Registration is a one-time process; you cannot register during Round 2 or later rounds. The fee is ₹1,000 (non-refundable).
  • UPTAC 2027 Counselling Rounds: Expected to include 4 regular rounds, 1 internal sliding round, and 2 special rounds starting July 2027 — in 2026, Round 1 choice filling started on July 13 and seat allotment was declared on July 18.
  • UPTAC B.Arch 2027: Candidates need a valid NATA 2027 or JEE Paper 2 score. NATA 2027 tests are expected in April–May 2027. B.Arch eligibility requires at least 50% in PCM and 50% aggregate in Class 12.

What is UPTAC 2027?

UPTAC stands for Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling. It is the centralised online counselling process run by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow for admissions to technical and professional programmes across Uttar Pradesh. UPTAC replaced the earlier UPSEE (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination) from 2021 onwards, switching to a model that uses national entrance exam scores rather than conducting its own state-level test.

Through UPTAC 2027, candidates can get admission to government, government-aided and private institutions affiliated with AKTU. More than 1.5 lakh seats are available across 763+ participating institutes, making it one of the largest state-level technical counselling processes in India. The entire process — from registration to document verification — is managed through the official portal uptac.samarth.edu.in.

Seat allotment is based on merit (JEE Main rank for B.Tech, NATA or JEE Paper 2 score for B.Arch), category, and the college–branch choices you fill and lock during the online choice filling rounds. There is no separate UPTAC entrance exam.

UPTAC 2027 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for UPTAC 2027 depends on the course you are applying for. Each programme has its own qualifying exam and minimum academic requirements. You must check all conditions before registering, as registrations are not refunded if you are found ineligible.

Eligibility for B.Tech (4-Year)

  • You must have qualified JEE Main 2027 (Session 1, Session 2, or both).
  • You must have passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board.
  • Mandatory subjects in Class 12: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
  • No minimum percentage in Class 12 is mandated for most private colleges. Some government colleges may require a minimum qualifying percentage — check the individual institute norms.
  • Age: You must be at least 17 years old as on December 31, 2027. There is no upper age limit.

Eligibility for B.Arch (5-Year)

  • Valid score in NATA 2027 (conducted by COA) or JEE Main 2027 Paper 2 (B.Arch) is mandatory.
  • Passed Class 12 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
  • Minimum 50% marks in PCM combined in Class 12.
  • Minimum 50% aggregate marks in Class 12 overall.
  • Alternatively, a 10+3 Diploma in Architecture with at least 50% marks is also accepted.

Eligibility for B.Pharm (4-Year)

  • Passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Mathematics.
  • Minimum 45% aggregate marks in Class 12 (40% for SC/ST candidates).
  • Admission based on JEE Main score or CUET UG score as applicable for the course.

Eligibility for MBA / MCA

  • A Bachelor’s degree of at least 3 years from a recognised university is required.
  • Valid CUET PG 2027 score is mandatory.
  • Minimum 50% aggregate in graduation (45% for SC/ST candidates).
  • For MCA, a background in Mathematics at graduation level may be preferred by some colleges.

Domicile Eligibility

UPTAC divides seats into Home State (HS) and All India (AI) quotas. 80% of seats in government and government-aided institutes are reserved for candidates who are permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh. The remaining 20% is open to candidates from any state. If you do not have a UP domicile certificate, you will only compete for All India quota seats, where competition can be relatively stronger due to fewer available seats.

UPTAC 2027 Registration Process

UPTAC 2027 registration will be done entirely online on the official portal. Registration is a one-time window — if you miss it, you cannot participate in any of the regular counselling rounds. Make sure you have your JEE Main 2027 application number, category documents, and a scanned photograph ready before you begin.

Missing the UPTAC 2027 registration deadline means you cannot participate in Rounds 1 through 4. Only Special Rounds may allow fresh registration — and that is not guaranteed. Do not wait until the last date.

How to Register for UPTAC 2027: Step-by-Step

  • Step 1 — Create Account: Visit uptac.samarth.edu.in and register using your JEE Main 2027 application number, full name, mother’s name, date of birth, and gender.
  • Step 2 — Set Password: Create a secure login password for the UPTAC 2027 counselling portal after initial account verification.
  • Step 3 — Fill Application Form: Enter your personal details, academic details, category, domicile status, and qualifying exam score details.
  • Step 4 — Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, category certificate, domicile certificate, and a recent passport-size photograph as per the specified format.
  • Step 5 — Pay Registration Fee: Pay ₹1,000 non-refundable fee online via net banking, debit card, or credit card. No offline payment (cash, cheque, DD) is accepted.
  • Step 6 — Submit and Save Confirmation: Submit the form and download the confirmation printout for your records. You will need the registration number for all future logins.

UPTAC 2027 Fee Structure

Fee Type Category Amount
Registration Fee (one-time) All Categories ₹1,000 (non-refundable)
Seat Confirmation Fee (after allotment) General / OBC-NCL ₹20,000
SC / ST / EWS / PwBD ₹12,000

The seat confirmation fee is adjusted against the total first-year college tuition fee when you report for admission. If you do not pay it within the given deadline after seat allotment, your seat is automatically cancelled and released to the next candidate in the merit list.

How Selection Works in UPTAC 2027

UPTAC does not conduct its own entrance exam. Admission to B.Tech programmes is based entirely on your JEE Main 2027 rank. AKTU prepares separate merit lists for Home State (UP domicile) and All India quota candidates for each category. The better your JEE Main percentile, the higher your chances of securing a top college and preferred branch.

Merit List for B.Tech

  • Your best NTA percentile score across JEE Main 2027 Session 1 and Session 2 is used.
  • AKTU prepares separate merit lists for Home State (UP domicile) and All India quota candidates.
  • Tie-breaking order: Marks in Mathematics > Marks in Physics > Marks in Chemistry > Age (older candidate preferred).

Merit List for B.Arch

  • For NATA-based candidates: Composite score = NATA score (50 weightage) + Class 12 aggregate marks (50 weightage), both normalised to 100.
  • For JEE Paper 2-based candidates: Ranked purely on JEE Paper 2 score / rank.
  • Separate merit lists are prepared for NATA and JEE Paper 2 candidates, with seats allotted from both.

Seat Quota Distribution

Quota Seat Share Who Can Apply
Home State (HS) Quota 80% of total sanctioned seats UP domicile candidates only
All India (AI) Quota 20% of total sanctioned seats Candidates from any state in India
Management / NRI Quota 15% of private institution seats As per respective institution norms

UPTAC 2027 Counselling Process

UPTAC 2027 counselling will be conducted in multiple rounds over July–September 2027. There will be 4 regular rounds, 1 internal sliding round, and 2 special rounds. This structure gives you several opportunities to get a seat or upgrade to a better college or branch if you are not satisfied with your first allotment.

Round-wise Counselling Structure

Round Purpose Key Feature
Round 1 First seat allotment based on merit and locked choices Highest competition; top colleges and CSE / IT branches fill fastest
Round 2 Upgrades and fresh allotments from Round 1 vacancies Float candidates from Round 1 can get an upgrade here
Round 3 Further upgrades and allotments for remaining vacant seats Seats released by candidates who did not accept Round 2 allotments open here
Round 4 Final regular round allotment Only Freeze option available; candidates must physically report after this
Internal Sliding Round Branch upgrade within the same institute only Only for candidates who physically reported in Rounds 1–4
Special Round 1 Allotment for remaining vacant seats; fresh registration may open Candidates who missed regular rounds may get another chance
Special Round 2 (Final) Last round for any remaining vacant seats No further rounds after this; cutoffs are usually weakest here

Steps in Each Counselling Round

  • Choice Filling: Log in to the UPTAC portal and fill college-branch combinations in your order of preference. Add as many choices as possible — a longer list improves your chances of getting a seat you like. In 2026, AKTU advised adding at least 50 choices.
  • Choice Locking: Lock your choices before the deadline. Locked choices cannot be changed. Unlocked choices are not processed in allotment.
  • Seat Allotment: AKTU runs the allotment algorithm. Results are published on the official portal. You can see your allotted college, branch, and category.
  • Seat Acceptance: Choose one of three options — Freeze, Float, or Slide — within the specified window.
  • Fee Payment: Pay the seat confirmation fee online within the deadline to confirm your seat.
  • Physical Reporting: Report to your allotted college with original documents within the reporting dates for verification and final admission.

Freeze, Float, and Slide — Explained

  • Freeze: You accept your current seat and exit the upgrade process. Your seat is confirmed if you pay the fee and report to college. Use this if you are happy with your allotment.
  • Float: You accept your current seat but remain in the upgrade pool for the next round. If a better seat (as per your choices) is available, it is allotted to you and your previous seat is released. If no upgrade is available, your current seat is retained. Use this only if you are willing to risk your current seat for a better option.
  • Slide: You want to stay in the same institute but try to get a better branch within that college. Available only within the same institute.

In Round 4 and Special Rounds, only the Freeze option is typically available. Candidates who choose Float or Slide must understand that their current seat will be released if they do not get an upgrade — always weigh this risk carefully.

UPTAC 2027 Seat Allotment

UPTAC 2027 seat allotment will be done by AKTU through an automated algorithm that matches your rank, category, domicile, and locked choices. Round 1 seat allotment for UPTAC 2027 is expected in July 2027 — in 2026, it was declared on July 18.

How to Check UPTAC 2027 Seat Allotment Result

  • Go to uptac.samarth.edu.in and log in with your registration number and password.
  • Click on "View Allotment Letter" or "Seat Allotment Result" link on the dashboard.
  • Check your allotted college name, branch, category, and seat type carefully.
  • Download and save the allotment letter — you will need it at the time of physical document verification at the college.

What to Do After You Get a Seat

  • Decide whether to Freeze, Float, or Slide your seat based on your satisfaction with the allotment.
  • Pay the seat confirmation fee (₹20,000 or ₹12,000) online within the deadline. No extension is granted.
  • Report physically to your allotted college with all original documents within the specified reporting dates.
  • If you did not get a seat in Round 1, you are automatically considered for Round 2 without any additional action.

Not paying the seat confirmation fee within the deadline will lead to automatic cancellation of your allotted seat. No exceptions are made. Pay as soon as your seat is allotted.

UPTAC 2027 Cutoff: Expected Trends

UPTAC 2027 cutoffs are the opening and closing JEE Main ranks at which seats in each college, branch, and category combination are filled in each round. Official cutoffs are released after every round and published on the UPTAC portal. Since 2027 counselling has not started yet, you can use the 2026 data as the most reliable reference to plan which colleges are within your reach.

What Affects UPTAC Cutoff Every Year

  • Total number of JEE Main 2027 qualified candidates and how their ranks are distributed
  • Total seats available in each college, branch, and category
  • Popularity of the branch — CSE and IT always close at the strongest ranks
  • Domicile — Home State (UP) cutoffs are usually more relaxed than All India quota cutoffs at the same college
  • Number of rounds — Special Round 2 cutoffs are typically the weakest, giving candidates with lower ranks a chance

UPTAC 2026 Cutoff Reference (Round 1 — Government Colleges)

The table below shows indicative closing rank ranges from UPTAC 2026 Round 1 for popular branches at government colleges under UPTAC. Use this as a planning benchmark for UPTAC 2027.

Branch General HS Closing Rank EWS Closing Rank SC Closing Rank ST Closing Rank
Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) ~71,000 – 1,00,000 ~79,000 – 1,10,000 ~2,25,000 – 3,00,000 ~4,27,000 – 5,00,000
Information Technology (IT) ~1,00,000 – 1,50,000 ~1,10,000 – 1,60,000 ~3,00,000 – 3,50,000 ~5,00,000+
Electronics & Communication (ECE) ~1,50,000 – 2,00,000 ~1,60,000 – 2,10,000 ~3,50,000 – 4,00,000 ~5,50,000+
Electrical Engineering (EE / EEE) ~2,00,000 – 2,60,000 ~2,10,000 – 2,80,000 ~4,00,000 – 4,50,000 ~6,00,000+
Mechanical Engineering ~2,00,000 – 2,80,000 ~2,20,000 – 3,00,000 ~4,00,000 – 4,50,000 ~6,00,000+
Civil Engineering ~2,80,000 – 3,50,000 ~3,00,000 – 3,80,000 ~4,50,000 – 5,50,000 ~7,00,000+

Note: Figures above are indicative ranges based on 2026 Round 1 data for government colleges under UPTAC. Actual 2027 cutoffs will vary with JEE Main 2027 competition. Private college cutoffs are generally more relaxed than government college cutoffs.

Key Cutoff Trends to Know for UPTAC 2027

  • CSE and IT always close at the best ranks in Round 1. If your JEE Main rank is beyond 1 lakh (General category), you may need to consider IT or ECE at government colleges, or CSE at a private college.
  • Special Round 2 cutoffs can be significantly weaker than Round 1. Candidates with ranks above 5 lakh have also secured seats through special rounds in past years.
  • All India quota closing ranks are typically tighter than Home State quota ranks at the same college and branch, because fewer AI seats are available.
  • Less-established private colleges accept candidates at very high JEE Main ranks (1 lakh and beyond), so candidates with lower scores can still get B.Tech seats through UPTAC 2027.

Top Colleges Under UPTAC 2027

UPTAC 2027 covers admissions across 763+ government, government-aided and private institutes affiliated with AKTU across Uttar Pradesh. You should note that HBTU Kanpur (Harcourt Butler Technical University) and MMMUT Gorakhpur (Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology) conduct their own separate, independent counselling and are NOT part of UPTAC. You need to register separately on their respective portals to apply to these universities.

UPTAC B.Arch 2027 Counselling

UPTAC B.Arch 2027 is the counselling process for admission to 5-year Bachelor of Architecture programmes at AKTU-affiliated government and private architecture colleges in UP. It follows the same centralised model as UPTAC B.Tech, with separate merit lists specifically for B.Arch candidates based on NATA or JEE Paper 2 scores.

Qualifying Exam for UPTAC B.Arch 2027

You must have a valid score in one of the following exams to apply for B.Arch through UPTAC 2027:

  • NATA 2027 (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) — conducted by the Council of Architecture (COA). NATA 2027 is expected to have two test dates in April and May 2027. Your best score across both tests is used.
  • JEE Main 2027 Paper 2 (B.Arch) — conducted by NTA. Paper 2 includes Mathematics, Aptitude Test, and Drawing Test. You can attempt both Session 1 (January) and Session 2 (April); your better score is used.

UPTAC B.Arch 2027 Eligibility Summary

Eligibility Condition Requirement
Class 12 Subjects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (compulsory)
PCM Marks in Class 12 Minimum 50% in Physics + Chemistry + Mathematics combined
Class 12 Aggregate Minimum 50% overall
Qualifying Exam NATA 2027 or JEE Paper 2 (B.Arch) 2027
Diploma Holders 10+3 Diploma in Architecture with minimum 50% marks is accepted

NATA 2027 vs JEE Paper 2: Which One Should You Choose?

Feature NATA 2027 JEE Paper 2 (B.Arch) 2027
Conducted By Council of Architecture (COA) National Testing Agency (NTA)
Mode Online CBT Computer-Based + Offline Drawing
Number of Tests / Sessions Two (Test 1 and Test 2) Two Sessions (January and April)
Sections Drawing, Visual Reasoning, General Aptitude Mathematics, Aptitude, Drawing
Total Marks 200 400
UPTAC Merit List NATA score (50%) + Class 12 aggregate (50%) Based on JEE Paper 2 score / rank
Accepted By Architecture colleges nationwide including UP NITs, GFTIs, state counsellings nationwide

You can appear in both NATA 2027 and JEE Paper 2 and use whichever gives you a better rank in the UPTAC B.Arch merit list. Attempting both is the best strategy to maximise your admission options.

UPTAC B.Arch 2027 Merit List Calculation

  • NATA-based merit: Composite score = Normalised NATA score (out of 100) × 0.5 + Normalised Class 12 aggregate (out of 100) × 0.5. Class 12 marks contribute 50% to the composite score, so strong board performance matters as much as NATA aptitude.
  • JEE Paper 2-based merit: Ranked on JEE Paper 2 marks and rank directly, with no Class 12 marks component.
  • AKTU prepares two separate pools — one for NATA candidates and one for JEE Paper 2 candidates — and allots seats from both.

Tips for UPTAC B.Arch 2027 Aspirants

  • Appear in both NATA Test 1 and Test 2 — your best score is used, and two attempts reduce the risk of a bad day.
  • When registering for JEE Main 2027, tick the Paper 2 (B.Arch) option as well. You can get a JEE Paper 2 rank alongside your Paper 1 rank at no extra cost if both are in the same session attempt.
  • Practice drawing regularly since it carries direct weight in both NATA and JEE Paper 2.
  • Focus on Class 12 marks too — for the NATA-based UPTAC merit list, your board aggregate contributes 50% to the composite score. A 5–10 mark improvement in Class 12 can meaningfully improve your UPTAC B.Arch rank.

UPTAC 2027 Reservation Policy

UPTAC 2027 follows the Uttar Pradesh government reservation policy for seats in government and government-aided institutions. Private colleges follow a combination of government reservation norms for state quota seats and their own management quota rules for the remaining 15% seats.

Category-wise Seat Reservation — Government Colleges

Category Reservation Percentage
General (Unreserved) 50%
Other Backward Class (OBC-NCL) 27%
Scheduled Caste (SC) 21%
Scheduled Tribe (ST) 2%
Economically Weaker Section (EWS) 10% (horizontal, within each vertical category)
Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) 5% (horizontal, across all categories)

EWS and PwBD reservations are horizontal — applied within each vertical category (General, OBC-NCL, SC, ST), not as a separate additional pool. Eligible candidates can claim both a vertical category and a horizontal sub-category simultaneously if they qualify for both.

Supernumerary Seats for Female Candidates

  • In some government colleges, 20% supernumerary seats are available for female candidates over and above the regular sanctioned intake. These are additional seats created to improve female enrolment and do not reduce seats for other candidates.
  • Female candidates should check the seat matrix carefully for supernumerary female seats in their target colleges when UPTAC 2027 seat matrix is released.

OBC-NCL Certificate Requirement

Only OBC candidates with the Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) certificate are eligible for OBC reservation in UPTAC. The NCL certificate must be issued within the validity period specified in the UPTAC 2027 information bulletin. Candidates with an expired certificate will be treated as General category during allotment.

Tips to Secure a Good College Through UPTAC 2027

Getting the right college through UPTAC 2027 requires a good JEE Main rank, smart choice filling, and understanding how the round system works. These tips will help you make the best of your UPTAC 2027 counselling experience.

  • Appear in Both JEE Main Sessions: JEE Main 2027 will have two sessions. Appearing in both gives you two chances to improve your percentile. Your best score is used for UPTAC, so there is no downside to attempting Session 2 even if Session 1 went well.
  • Register on the Very First Day: UPTAC registration has a hard deadline. Register as soon as the window opens in May 2027 to avoid technical glitches or last-minute server issues that are common on the closing dates.
  • Fill at Least 50 Choices: During choice filling, add as many college-branch combinations as possible in your order of preference. In 2026, AKTU itself recommended filling at least 50 choices. A longer list maximises the probability of getting a satisfying allotment.
  • Study the 2026 Cutoff Before Choice Filling: Use the UPTAC 2026 Round 1 cutoff data to realistically assess which college-branch combinations are within your rank range. Filling only unreachable choices as your top preferences is a mistake — mix aspirational and realistic options.
  • Understand Freeze vs. Float Before You Decide: If you are reasonably satisfied with your Round 1 seat, Freeze. Floating is a gamble — you can lose your current seat for an upgrade that may not come. Think through this decision carefully before clicking.
  • Do Not Miss Physical Reporting Deadlines: Paying the online fee is not enough. You must report physically to your allotted college with original documents within the reporting window. Missing the reporting deadline results in seat cancellation even if you paid the fee.
  • Check the Vacant Seat Matrix Before Special Rounds: AKTU releases a vacant seat matrix before Special Round 1 and Special Round 2. Use this to see if your target college still has open seats before locking your special round choices.
  • Look Beyond the Branch Name: A well-placed private college with strong placements may serve you better than a weaker branch in a government college. Research the college’s placement track record, infrastructure, industry connections, and alumni network alongside the branch name.

Ans. To be eligible for UPTAC 2027 B.Tech, you must have qualified JEE Main 2027 and passed Class 12 from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. You must be at least 17 years old as on December 31, 2027. There is no upper age limit and no minimum Class 12 percentage cut-off for most private college seats under UPTAC.

Ques. When will UPTAC 2027 registration start?

Ans. UPTAC 2027 official registration dates have not been announced yet. Based on the 2026 pattern, registration is expected to start around May 2027 and close in June 2027. Ques. Can candidates from outside Uttar Pradesh apply for UPTAC 2027?

Ans. Yes. Candidates from any state in India can apply for UPTAC 2027. However, 80% of seats in government and government-aided colleges are reserved for UP domicile (Home State quota) candidates. Candidates without a UP domicile certificate will only be eligible for the 20% All India quota seats, where competition can be relatively stronger due to fewer available seats.

Ques. Is HBTU Kanpur part of UPTAC 2027?

Ans. No. HBTU Kanpur (Harcourt Butler Technical University) and MMMUT Gorakhpur (Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology) conduct their own completely separate counselling through their own portals. You must register separately at hbtu.admissions.nic.in for HBTU and mmmut.admissions.nic.in for MMMUT. Registering for UPTAC alone will not give you access to seats at these two universities.

Ques. What is the UPTAC 2027 registration fee?

Ans. The UPTAC 2027 registration fee is ₹1,000 for all candidates regardless of category. This fee is non-refundable. After seat allotment, you also need to pay a seat confirmation fee of ₹20,000 (General / OBC-NCL) or ₹12,000 (SC / ST / EWS / PwBD) to hold your allotted seat. This confirmation fee is adjusted against college tuition fees when you report for admission.

Ques. What is the eligibility for UPTAC B.Arch 2027?

Ans. For UPTAC 2027 B.Arch, you need a valid NATA 2027 or JEE Main Paper 2 (B.Arch) score. You must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and secured at least 50% marks in PCM and 50% aggregate in Class 12. NATA 2027 is expected in April and May 2027 with two test dates. You can appear in both and your best score will be used for the UPTAC B.Arch merit list.

Ques. What is the difference between Freeze, Float, and Slide in UPTAC counselling?

Ans. After each seat allotment round, you select one of three options:

  • Freeze: Accept and finalise your current seat. You exit the upgrade process. Safe option if you are satisfied with your allotment.
  • Float: Accept your current seat temporarily but remain in the upgrade pool for the next round. If a better seat is available, you get it and the current one is released. If not, you keep the current seat.
  • Slide: Stay in the same college but try to get a better branch within that institute in the next round.

In Round 4 and Special Rounds, only the Freeze option is available.

Ques. How many rounds does UPTAC 2027 counselling have?

Ans. UPTAC 2027 counselling is expected to have 7 rounds in total — 4 regular rounds (Round 1 to Round 4), 1 internal sliding round for candidates who physically reported in regular rounds, and 2 special rounds for vacant seats. In 2026, UPTAC followed the same 7-round structure. Special rounds typically have weaker cutoffs and give candidates with lower ranks a second chance at admission.

Ques. What is the expected cutoff for CSE through UPTAC 2027?

Ans. UPTAC 2027 CSE cutoffs will be released officially after each round. Based on 2026 Round 1 data, the General (Home State) closing rank for CSE at government colleges under UPTAC was approximately 71,000 to 1,00,000. SC and ST category cutoffs are significantly more relaxed. At private colleges under UPTAC, CSE seats are available at ranks well beyond 1 lakh. Actual 2027 cutoffs will depend on JEE Main 2027 rank distribution and total seat availability.

Ques. Can I register for UPTAC 2027 during special rounds if I missed the initial window?

Ans. Normally, UPTAC registration is a one-time process and you cannot register during Rounds 2 to 4 if you missed the initial window. However, Special Round 1 and Special Round 2 sometimes allow fresh registrations for candidates who missed the regular rounds, provided vacant seats are available. This is not guaranteed every year. Check the official UPTAC 2027 special round notification carefully once it is released.
