The All India Council for Technical Education has directed all affiliated institutes to refund complete fees to the students who decide to withdraw their admission on or before 10th November 2020.

AICTE has released a notification regarding this which provides all the modalities with regards to the refund fees for students who decided to withdraw their admissions after being offered confirmed seats.

The official notification issued by the council reads, “In the event of a student withdrawing before November 10, 2020, the entire fee collected from the student, after a deduction of the processing fee of not more than Rs 1,000 shall be refunded by the institution.”

The council has also urged the affiliated institutions to return the original documents collected from the students at the time of admission.

“In case the seat vacated after November 10, is not filled by another student till November 15, security deposit and original documents are to be returned to the student withdrawing admission,” said the official statement by AICTE.

One of the key changes made by AICTE this year is that the council has relaxed the admission guidelines to MBA and PDGM programmes offered by the affiliated institutes.

As per the revised guidelines, B-schools can offer MBA/PGDM programs to candidates on the basis of qualifying undergraduate exams.

The decision has been made in the wake of COVID-19, as several states could not conduct the entrances amid the rising cases.
