Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) is gearing up to start with the first phase of the University Integrated Management system (UIMS) by October last week. The first phase will be as a pilot project, as testing of phase one has already been finished.

Dr. Niranjan Shrivastav, the head of DAVV and nodal officer for this project, informed that the aim of UIMS is to provide complete centralized automation to help in gaining all the information by a single click for students, employees, and institutions.

The primary objective is to provide an advantage to the students. Thus, the students' information system (SIS) would be implemented as a part of the first phase. Authorities will begin the admission through the registration of the new batch of students.

Once all the information of students is gathered, it will generate a unique identification number for the candidates. It would be helpful as all it will allocated the information to that particular number, and will be official across the state of Madhya Pradesh.

Dr. Niranjan Shrivastav mentioned that the UIMS first phase would include the data of affiliated colleges and the results would be available through the system created. Using a unique identity number, only the student and the authorities will be able to access all the information. 

The students also have the option to apply for their documents. The authority is trying to ensure that the digital version of documents made available for free. Dr. Niranjan Shrivastav also said, “Whether the documents are mark sheet or any certificate, we are trying not to charge money for digital ones. In case they request for physical documents, they will have to pay the amount set by the varsity.”

The second phase will come step by step through administration, establishment, stores, hostel management. Moreover, the process of a unified syllabus is also kept in the picture in the subsequent phase.

Shrivastav added that the dates are not yet finalized by Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV) that is the nodal center of the System. Although, the implementation will surely begin by this month itself.
