The report presented to the EC by the committee will be sent to the State Government and the Union Government for further discussion

New Delhi: The Executive Council at Delhi University has announced the formation of committee concerning the 12 alleged colleges under the university. The committee will be examining the governance of the twelve colleges and shall report within a 15-day framework.
Earlier, Delhi Education Minister, Atishi had written a letter to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday flagging "irregularities and procedural lapses involving hundreds of crores of rupees from the public exchequer" in these 12 colleges.
As a result, DU VC, Yogesh Singh has initiated the urgent formation and implementation of the committee. He has announced that the committee will start functioning from December 16, 2023 and will be reporting on the matters within 15 days. The report will then be sent to both the Government of India and the Government of Delhi for further deliberation.
The executive council has also approved the allocation of 12.76 acres of land in Dhaka to transform Patel Chest Hospital into a multi-specialty healthcare center.
Other than this, The EC gave its approval for converting "some syllabus of various departments from existing CBCS/LOCF based syllabus/examination schemes to syllabus/examination schemes as per UGCF-2022", it said.
The recommendations of the Faculty of Education on the curriculum structure for the Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP) and the curriculum of courses to be offered in semester-1 and 2 were accepted by the EC.
The statement said “accepting the recommendations of the Faculty of Social Sciences, approval was given to make a minor amendment in the name of the 'Department of Adult Continuing Education and Extension' and change it to the 'Department of Continuing Education and Extension'.
It also endorsed declaring subjects like B.Sc. Physics, B.Sc. Applied Science, and B.Sc. Mathematical Science as synonymous with the B.Sc. in Computer Science course, considering Computer Science as one of the three primary subjects.
The EC approved students' pursuit of two academic degrees concurrently. This decision allows students to enroll in one course through regular means and another through Open and Distance Education (ODL) mode. Additionally, the EC embraced the Academic Council's recommendations for the promotion guidelines concerning teachers in the Departments/Centres of Delhi University.
