The Indian Institute of Management Nagpur (IIM Nagpur) has released the Round 2 admission dates for the Executive MBA in Energy Management (EMBA-EM) programme. The 2026-28 batch schedule is now available at iimnagpur.ac.in. Applications will close on September 27, 2026.

The IIM Nagpur Aptitude Test (IIMNAT) is scheduled for October 4, 2026. Shortlisted candidates will appear for a Personal Interview (PI). Final selection will depend on the candidates’ IIMNAT and interview scores. The programme is offered in collaboration with the National Power Training Institute (NPTI), which operates under the Ministry of Power.

Who Is Eligible to Apply?

The EMBA-EM programme targets mid-career working professionals. Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria prescribed by IIM Nagpur.

  • A bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks from a recognised university.
  • Professional qualifications such as CA, ICWA, or CS are accepted.
  • A minimum of 3 years of managerial or professional work experience is required.

Both sponsored and self-financed candidates can apply. Government and PSU employees can apply under the sponsored category. The programme is suitable for professionals working in the power, oil, gas, and renewable energy sectors. Professionals involved in regulatory and policy roles can also benefit from the curriculum.

About the EMBA in Energy Management Programme

The EMBA-EM is a two-year hybrid degree programme. It is divided into eight academic terms and offers 81 credits through 810 instructional hours.

IIM Nagpur delivers 437 instructional hours, while NPTI delivers the remaining 373 hours. The programme includes four in-campus modules, with each module lasting five days.

Two campus modules are conducted at IIM Nagpur, while the other two are conducted at NPTI campuses. Upon successful completion, IIM Nagpur awards the EMBA degree, while NPTI issues a postgraduate certificate.

The hybrid learning format allows professionals to continue working while pursuing the programme. Online classes are conducted alongside the in-campus modules. Faculty members from IIM Nagpur and NPTI jointly deliver the courses. The curriculum covers areas such as energy policy, power markets, and finance.

IIM Nagpur EMBA in Energy Management Fee Structure

The total programme fee for the 2025-27 batch was Rs 12,00,000. Selected candidates were required to pay Rs 1,00,000 while accepting the admission offer.

The programme fee includes boarding and lodging during the in-campus modules. However, travel expenses to the campuses are not included. The final fee structure for the 2026-28 batch will be communicated with the admission offer.

Selection Process for Round 2 Candidates

IIM Nagpur follows a two-stage selection process. The first stage is the IIMNAT written examination, followed by the Personal Interview.

The IIMNAT evaluates candidates’ aptitude and reasoning abilities, while the Personal Interview assesses their managerial suitability. The interview shortlist is expected to be released approximately one week after IIMNAT.

Sponsored candidates must submit an employer sponsorship letter. Self-financed candidates can apply independently. Both categories must complete the same selection stages.

Applicants must upload scanned copies of the required documents. The commonly required documents include:

  • A recent passport-size photograph in the prescribed format.
