IISER released the IAT 2026 Round 2 seat allotment and closing ranks at iiseradmission.in. Selected candidates must pay the Seat Acceptance Fee by August 5, 2026 to confirm admission across IISERs IISc Bangalore and IIT Madras.
The Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) have released the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2026 Round 2 seat allotment result and closing ranks on the official admission portal at iiseradmission.in. The allotment covers seven IISER campuses, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. The closing ranks are published campus-wise, programme-wise, and category-wise.
Candidates who received a fresh or upgraded seat must confirm admission. The Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) window closes on August 5, 2026. Students must also select either the Freeze or the Float option while accepting the seat.

Seat Acceptance Fee Structure
The SAF has a refundable component and a non-refundable admin charge. The amount depends on the candidate's reservation category. The table below shows the split.

Freeze or Float: Which Option Should You Pick?
The Freeze option locks the current allotted seat. It stops any further upgrade in later counselling rounds. The Float option keeps the current seat but allows an upgrade in Round 3.
Students happy with their allotted campus should choose Freeze. Students hoping for a higher-preference seat should select Float. Float keeps them in the pool for the next round.
Participating Institutes Under IAT 2026
The IAT 2026 counselling covers nine institutes across India. The seven IISERs are at Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram, and Tirupati. IISc Bangalore admits candidates to its BS Research programme. IIT Madras admits candidates to selected BS and B.Tech programmes.
How to Check the IISER IAT 2026 Round 2 Cutoff?
The Round 2 closing ranks are hosted on the official admission portal. Follow the steps below to view your cutoff.
- Visit the official portal at iiseradmission.in.
- Click on the Closing Ranks link on the homepage.
- Select the Round 2 tab from the counselling round list.
- Download the campus-wise and category-wise closing rank list.
- Match your rank with the closing rank for your category.
Round 3 is the final IAT 2026 counselling round. Missing the Round 2 fee deadline can cost a confirmed seat.
Action Plan for Candidates
- Log in to iiseradmission.in using your IAT credentials.
- Check your Round 2 seat allotment status and campus.
- Choose either the Freeze or the Float option.
- Pay the applicable Seat Acceptance Fee before August 5, 2026.
- Save the payment receipt and provisional allotment letter safely.
The Round 3 seat allotment is scheduled for August 10, 2026 at iiseradmission.in.
