IIT Hyderabad Introduces B.Tech program in Biomedical Engineering; Check Course Details Here

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad has introduced a new B. Tech Program in the field of Biomedical Engineering.

IIT Hyderabad will be first of all the IITs in the country to introduce this B.Tech Program in Biomedical Engineering. The new B.Tech program aims to provide world-class healthcare technologies for the biomedical engineers of the next-generation.

The program will prepare the engineers to work for the best healthcare in the deep-tech industry. The syllabus for the B.Tech program is designed around four verticals. They are as follows,

Bio-imaging and Sensing,
Bio-mechanics,
Bio-materials, and bio-intelligence,
Artificial Intelligence.

The Syllabus will have single horizontal - core training in subjects such as,

Anatomy,
Physiology,
Systems Science,
Algorithms,
Mathematics,
Circuits,
Instrumentation, and
Mechanics.

BS Murthy, the IIT director said that the newly introduced B.Tech program will infuse the importance of biomedical education in the young minds. He added saying that the program will produce many biomedical engineers who will make considerable contributions to medical technology in India. Some of the devices that the biomedical field will design are as follows:

3D images,
Microscopes,
Collection of healthcare data,
Create the brain-spinal systems in silico,
Simulation and prediction of the epidemics,
3D printing of cornea, and bone/skin,
Development of nanoparticles which will fight against tumors,
Recognition of the disease patterns,
Designing implants,
Moving the prosthetics,
Regeneration of organs from stem cells,
Creation of biosensors on the chip,
Craft algorithms that display the human body, and
Model impact on the body.

V Ramgopal Rao, the director at IIT-Delhi said that there are nearly 16,000 seats available in the IITs. The candidates who have qualified for the JEE Advanced 2020 Examination can apply for admission in any of the 23 IITs across the country.
