IIT JAM 2027 Registration Deadline Extended at jam.iitkgp.ac.in; Check Last Date to Apply

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur has extended the IIT JAM 2027 registration deadline. Aspirants can now submit their applications until October 19, 2026, through the official portal at jam.iitkgp.ac.in.

The previous registration deadline was October 12, 2026. Candidates must complete the application process through the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) at joaps.iitkgp.ac.in.

IIT JAM is the gateway to postgraduate science programmes offered by participating IITs. Around 3,000 seats are offered annually through this entrance examination.

The examination will be conducted for seven test papers. Candidates should select subjects that match their academic background.

IIT JAM 2027 Exam Pattern

The examination will be held in two sessions on February 14, 2027. The forenoon session will run from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, while the afternoon session will be conducted from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

Each paper will contain 60 questions across three formats:

• Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
• Multiple Select Questions (MSQ)
• Numerical Answer Type (NAT)

IIT JAM 2027 Application Fee

The application fee varies according to the candidate’s category and the number of papers selected. Aspirants can register for up to two test papers scheduled in different sessions.

How to Apply for IIT JAM 2027 on JOAPS?

Candidates must complete the entire application process through the JOAPS portal. They will need to provide their personal information, academic details, documents, and application fee.

1. Visit the JOAPS portal at joaps.iitkgp.ac.in.
2. Register using a valid email ID and mobile number.
3. Log in and complete the IIT JAM 2027 application form.
4. Upload a scanned photograph, signature, and required certificates.
5. Pay the application fee through net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI.
6. Submit the form and save the confirmation page for future reference.
