IIT Jodhpur to Conduct Exams and Viva-Voce Online for Current Semester; Classes on Online Mode for Next Semester

Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur has announced that it will conduct online examinations for the current semester of 2019-20 academic year.

Moreover, IIT Jodhpur has also mentioned that the classes for the upcoming semester will also begin in online mode. The upcoming semester is likely to start from September 1.

Earlier, IIT Bombay also opted out from conducting physical lectures for the upcoming semester, following the same footsteps, IIT Madras and IIT Delhi also opted out from conducting classroom lectures.

In regard to the online examination, the institute has said that online exams will carry only 20 percent weightage, while 20 percent weightage will come from the Minor-I exam.

The remaining 60 percent from continuous assessment components, including quizzes, assignments, projects, take-home, open-book examination, and viva-voce for lab evaluation.

The institute also highlighted that they are making arrangements for AI-based remotely proctored examination with the help of major software industry in the country having experience of working with NTA.

Furthermore, the institute will conduct viva-voice online for end-semester laboratory courses which are scheduled from July 1 to July 10, 2020.

On the evaluation of projects, the institute has said that evaluation of the B.Tech Project, Specialization Project, Entrepreneurship Project, and Engineering innovation project will be conducted on July 24 for the final-year students, and for other students, it will be held from August 10-11.
