IIT Kharagpur: Final Results to be Declared After July 8 for Academic Session 2019-20, Says Director

The final results for the academic year 2019-20 will be announced by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur after July 8, 2020.

Earlier, the institute cancelled the final semester exams in view of rising coronavirus cases in the country and formed a committee to evaluate students on the basis of their academic performance.

The Committee was also given the responsibility to decide on the grading system, the supplementary examination and the changes to the department.

"IIT Kharagpur has announced the results for the Spring 2020 Semester as of July 1, 2020. The Institute, which had previously cancelled the final semester review due to the COVID-19 pandemic, formed a committee to evaluate academic performance, together with decisions on the grading scheme, supplementary review and change of department. Approximately 13,000 students enrolled in various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs were evaluated on the basis of grades of mid-semester examinations, assignments, classroom tests, etc. The final results for the academic year 2019-20 will be announced after July 8, 2020. I congratulate the student community and appreciate their cooperation, "said IIT-Kharagpur Director VK Tewari in a statement.

The institute is expected to begin the new semester in September, however, the decision will be entirely based on the coronavirus situation in the country.

IIT Kharagpur offers a wide variety of disciplines across 19 Departments, 13 Schools and 9 Centres of Excellence.

Admission to its UG & PG courses is conducted through their respective written entrance examinations.

To be eligible for admissions to IIT Kharagpur’s B.Tech programmes, candidates must comply with the eligibility criteria for JEE Main and JEE Advanced.

 However, this year, due to coronavirus outbreak, JEE Main 2020 exam has been delayed and will now be conducted from September 01 to 06, 2020 in online mode.

After which the admission process will be completed for those seeking admission in various B.Tech courses.
